"I need to do something about that phobia, or it's definitely going to get in the way of my plans" Seraphina grumbled to herself as she sat on her queen-size bed, scrolling through her WeChat on her phone. "Who knows? Maybe, he's lying."
She suddenly recalled the fearful glint she saw in his eyes when he rolled away.
"I can't believe this" She growled in frustration, recalling again how awkward her actions were. "If I had known, I would have just stayed in my room."
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
"Who's there?" Seraphina questioned, her tone laced with a hint of apprehension.
"It's Jane, one of the maids" the knocker replied, and Seraphina asked her to come in.
The door creaked open and the maid walked in.
"Oh, it's you" Seraphina stated, seeing the maid who helped her to her room earlier today. "What do you want?"
"Er...well... Actually, I...I just wanted to make sure you're okay, or find out if someone else was in this room" Jane explained with a stutter. "I heard your voice loud and clear while walking on the corridor."
"Huh...." Seraphina pouted as the realization dawned on her. She must have been loud.
"I'm sorry" She coughed nervously, waving her phone before the maids eyes. "I was on a call."
Yes. She had to tell a lie to erase the awkwardness, wondering what the maid would think of her if she found out she was soliloquizing. She would be tagged as crazy, not that she wasn't.
"You should leave. I need to get some sleep" Seraphina added.
"Oh... Okay, Madame" Jane replied shyly and walked out of the room.
Out of nowhere, Seraphina let out a yawn and realized she needed some sleep. She laid on her bed and covered herself entirely with the duvet.
The night passed and the next day came. Seraphina woke up, and stretched her limbs, her eyes on the wall clock looking at her. It was ten minutes past seven.
A knock came on the door.
"Isn't it too early?" She grumbled lowly, and said out loud. "Come in."
Jane walked in with a warm smile on a face.
"Good morning, Madame" She greeted with a bow. "Master wants you at the dinning table in ten minutes."
"Huh... It's just seven" Seraphina complained.
"Well, those were his orders. He has a business trip he's leaving for this morning" Jane revealed, and turned to leave.
It took a moment for Seraphina to register those words in her head.
"A business trip?" She exclaimed, but Jane already left.
Hoping to speak to him before he leaves, Seraphina jumped out of bed and hurried into the bathroom. She was out in the five. She spent the remaining five minutes getting herself all dressed up in a blue free waist dress and a pair of blue fluffy slippers.
She walked out of the room, and trotted downstairs, she found her way to the dinning table, and met the icy man, who claimed to never touch women, sitting on a chair and sipping a cup of coffee with a business magazine in his hands.
"Good morning, Magnus" Seraphina greeted jovially, but unfortunately, she didn't get an answer.
With a deep scowl on her face, she was about to take a seat right next to him, but froze when she heard his words.
"Don't sit there. Move farther away from me" Magnus ordered sternly.
"What?!" Seraphina spat, but obeyed when she saw the warning glint in his eyes.
"I'll be out for three days" Magnus declared, sipping his coffee. "I have a business meeting to attend, so I won't be back until weekend."
"How come you're telling me about this now?" Seraphina berated, a bit annoyed.
Magnus looked at her and smirk. "Why do you care? We just got married yesterday."
"That's the same reason why you shouldn't be on a business trip" Seraphina retorted, and suddenly turned shy. "It's supposed to be our honeymoon plans in motion, not a business trip."
A moment of silence ensued, and instantly, laughter erupted from Magnus's belly. Seraphina couldn't help but stare at him, enchanted by his alluring laughter. When he stopped, he caught her staring at him.
"Back to earth, Seraphina" Magnus said, tapping the table. "You fantasize a lot, don't you? A honeymoon?"
"Yeah... We should have one" Seraphina replied absentmindedly. "Besides, we haven't done the proper thing newlyweds do."
Magnus's face morphed into a frown. "I thought I already told you not to try that again. You're not my type, and I have no interest in woman."
"Ohhhh" Seraphina gasped in shock. "So, you're gay! I married a gay!"
"No, I'm straight" Magnus snapped, and inhaled sharply. "I'm just saying that I haven't found the woman who could move me yet."
"Oh" Seraphina drawled, resting her back on her chair with a raised brow and a smirk. "Is that a dare? I always win, you know?"
"I doubt you will this time" Magnus retorted, his tone provoking. "You're naive and inexperienced."
"You think so?" Seraphina asked, feeling awkward. "Okay then, give me three days. I'm sure you'll be stunned when you get back."
"Suit yourself" Magnus said dismissively and stood up.
"Won't you have breakfast first?" Seraphina asked, her face etched with concern.
"I already did before you woke up" Magnus replied, and without saying another word, he grabbed his coat and devices and walked out of the mansion with Ethan escorting him to the car.
"Master, you should try to give Madame a breathing space" Ethan voiced out. "I can see she's trying hard to make the marriage work."
"Hmph... Just do your job and let her be" Magnus replied curtly. "Making money and expanding my turf and image is the only thing I want to focus on right now. I'll be back in three days."
He got into the car, and the driver drove away.
Meanwhile, Seraphina was still seated on the same spot Magnus had left her, her head swirling with different thoughts and imaginations that could help her sweep Magnus off his feet.
Soon, her breakfast was served, and she ate hurriedly. She rushed back to her room, and got her mini computer from one of the bags she brought it.
She typed. "Ways to make a man overcome his phobia for women."
"Ways to make a man fall for you."
She kept searching for these things, and kept writing them down. Shockingly, she had come up with a list of 100 ways to try out.
Three days passed, and Magnus is back. Jane came to inform her about his arrival. Eager to see him, she grabbed her list and rushed out of the room. His study room was her next stop.
There he was, making a phone call. The moment he ended the call, she placed the list on his table.
"Here, this is what I have planned out" She declared with much confidence. "I'm pretty sure you'll be surprised."
"Oh, really?" Magnus asked, his tone laced with a mix of confusion interest and curiousity. "You made this list in three days? What makes you think these will work on me?"
"Just watch and learn" Seraphina stated, her lips curved up in a smile of triumph.
