“Thank you for coming at this short notice”- He started to talk, I wasn’t paying much attention I just plainly listening to him

“Here are the files I found about the people I need you all to investigate. I don’t know how you able to divide it, it’s all up to you. All I am asking is fast update and result, I want this to be done as soon as possible”- I said as I give them six folders for the six people involved

“We will do our best”- Flores answered me. She was the only girl in a group and the way she talk, or walk. She was intelligent and sometimes she was one of the reason why some men would say that women are born as FBI or an investigator somehow.

“Salvador I would give the file of Bantham and Miller”- She was also the one leading the group

“I would like to assign myself on Diaz and Hill, the remaining two will be left to your good hands Flores”- Del Mundo, one of them. Attractive because he was one good looking and also kind of charismatic with his smiles

“We’ll go ahead sir, ma’am”- Salvador said smiling to us, as he stood up then the two followed

“Thank you for trusting us. We will give you updates of our investigation as soon as possible”- Flores said then smiled at me

“Won’t you join us for lunch”- Adelio suggested to the group of P.I

“No sir, thank you for that nice offer”- Immediately Flores decline Adelios’ offer

“Why wo---“

“Shut up Del Mundo, you’re being ridiculous again”- Salvador scolded him, it made me smile. They seem close.

“If you don’t mind me asking, are the three of you really a group?”- I said as I call raise my hand wanting to get the attention of the waiter

“Yeah we are, we we’re high school friends until we get to college and decided to take up the same course and same job”- Del Mundo shared

“Why, is it too obvious?”- Flores ask me while smiling shyly

“Kind of but it’s cute. It’s hard enough to find someone to stay in your life, was most hard is being treated like it was your first time of being friends”- I smiled

They left after saying their byes at us, the same time as the waiter arrives with the menu. I feel hungry since I haven’t eaten anything since early in the morning. I was up for a run when I wake up and immediately prepared all the files I needed, I don’t have that enough time to cook for my breakfast.

“I would like to have a grilled salmon, pasta and a red wine”- I said as I was finding anything to add up

“How about you sir?”- He smiled waiting for Adelios’ order

“I would like to have a lasagne, salad and two of your coffee chocolate cake”- Really? Two chocolate cakes, gosh that much carbs, I wonder how can he maintain that figure of him.

“And your drink?”- He was still writing the list of our order

“Same as hers”- He simply answered

The waiter left and told us that our orders will take a while. None of us talking to each other but of course I could feel his stare, is just that I choose not to mind it now. Unlike before.

As our order arrives, I started to dig in my salmon, gosh I am hungry. In no time I am already drinking my wine but I haven’t finished my pasta.

“Here”- He give me the other cake he ordered

“No, thank you. You ordered that”- I said declining his offer

“This other cake was meant for you”- Those words.

“So, this is the occasion you are saving to wear my gift”- He said as he sit beside me

“Maybe”- I simply said as an answer. He gives me white gold bracelet with three hearts in the middle, between those hearts there are diamonds. Really expensive for a 16th birthday gift

“Are you allowed to drink wine with chocolate cake? Weird combination”- He said as he saw what’s on my plate

“Yes I am allowed to drink and I love this combination”- I answered him as simple and as short as possible

“My gift looks good on you”- He complimented

“Thank you. Expensive gift just for 16th birthday”- I said as I touch the heart in the middle

“It’s the thought that counts”- He answered and took my fork then have a bite on my cake

“And what’s that thought?”- I watch him chew the food while I slowly drinking my wine

“Why are you so curious of what is my thought for buying you that gift?”- He feed me with the same fork

“You opened the topic makes me want you to simply continue”- I took the bite after saying that

“Is that considered as indirect kiss?”- He was smirking while asking that

“Indirect kiss? It’s not that romantic, don’t you think?”- I get closer to his face as I was saying that, but then he was brave enough not to flinch

“Why? Would you like me to kiss you directly?”- I smiled as he was asking me that silly question

“Do you dare?”- I’m sure I am not drunk as I was saying everything I said

“Is that a dare?”- Answering a question with a question won’t end our simple conversation

“You are thinking too deep”- That voice bring me back from reality

“Amethyst”- I simply said as I form a smile

“I didn’t know you were back”- She said, she was standing there don’t know how to react. I can’t blame her though.

“No one knows”- I simply answered after a sip of my wine

“Ahm, you won’t mind if-----“

“Not at all, actually, the two of you could catch up and enjoy the rest of the day”- I said as I leave a payment for my bill.

I didn’t really wait for their reaction or response for what I’ve said and just left. I know. Rude, but who cares. I was really aiming for saying thanks to Adelio earlier for helping me although I rejected him, but then with the help of my dear dad, he still able to help me. And once again with a little distraction I forgot about that, I’m such stupid and ungrateful.
