THIRD PERSON POV Joaquin burst into Miss Alexandria's office, his face twisted in a fit of rage. "Alexandria, what is the meaning of this?" he demanded, his voice bitter as he showed her the news report on his cell. The photo depicted the torn body parts of his ex-associate, Violet, who had quit the syndicate a month prior. "Meaning of what?" Alexandria played dumb. "Don't play dumb with me," Joaquin snapped. "I know what you did." "What is the meaning of this rubbish, Joaquin?" Mia, Alexandria's beta and personal assistant, grumbled. "How dare you talk to our alpha like that?" "Stay out of this, Mia," Joaquin warned, shooting daggers at her. "This is between Alexandria and me." "Don't you dare command me," Mia retorted. "I am only answerable to Miss Alexandria." Alexandria intervened, her voice firm. "That's enough, Mia. Joaquin is still your superior, and you will respect him." Joaquin's gaze lingered on Mia, his expression cold. "And as for you, young woman, watch your tone. I am still your superior, and you will respect me." Alexandria's eyes narrowed. "Respect you? You killed a pregnant woman." Joaquin's anger boiled over. "So???" Alexandria questioned nonchalantly. "What do you mean by 'so'?" Joaquin thundered. "She was pregnant, for Christ's sake." Alexandria's expression remained unchanged. "I'm aware of that." Joaquin's rage intensified. "Then why did you kill her?" Alexandria's voice was devoid of emotion. "I did it for you. That slut was going to betray you." Joaquin's face reddened. "No, she wasn't, and even if she was, you had no right to kill her." Alexandria's eyes flashed with anger. "I see. Mia was right. You were in some kind of relationship with that harlot. Who knows, you might even be the father of her unborn child." Joaquin's anger turned to disgust. "Excuse me. I refuse to be insulted. How dare you suggest something as ridiculous as me sleeping with and impregnating an omega?" Alexandria's expression turned cold. "Don't you have any faith in me?" Joaquin asked, his voice laced with anger. Alexandria's voice was venomous. "Faith? How do you expect me to have faith in you when you're busy sleeping around? Do you really think I'm not aware of all the sluts you've been sleeping with in my absence?" Joaquin's eyes narrowed. "And I don't have a right to? The last time I checked, I'm not married to you or anyone else." Alexandria's expression turned glacial. "And the last time I checked, you sold yourself to me. You're my property, Joaquin." Joaquin's face twisted in anger and humiliation. He knew his past was going to haunt him. The truth was, he was a slave to this witch. He had sold himself to be her s*x toy, thinking he could save his sister's life, but it had all been in vain. Just then, Joaquin's phone buzzed. Von's voice came through, calm and collected. "Alpha, thank God you answered. It's about Katherina. She escaped." Joaquin's eyes widened in shock. He had left Katherina barely 15 minutes ago, and she had already escaped. That woman was testing his patience. "I'll be right there," Joaquin growled, his anger simmering just below the surface. As he hung up, Alexandria's voice cut through the tension. "I'm coming with you." Joaquin's gaze lingered on Alexandria, his expression cold. He was stuck with two annoying women. The three of them drove to Joaquin's mansion in silence. As they arrived, Katherina came into view, her eyes sunken, her skin pale. She looked sickly and fragile, like she could collapse at any moment. Joaquin's anger boiled over as he pulled Katherina by the hair, dragging her through the living room. She slapped him, and for a moment, Joaquin's rage threatened to consume him. But he restrained himself, his eyes locked on Katherina's. As she cried out, "Dad, please don't hurt me," Joaquin's anger faltered. She reminded him of his little sister, and for a moment, his heart went out to her. "Go to your room," Joaquin muttered, his voice barely audible. Katherina looked up at him, confusion etched on her face. She seemed to be wondering why Joaquin hadn't hurt her. As she walked away, Mia's voice cut through the tension. "I told you he was sleeping with her, but you didn't believe me, Mistress. Do you see it now?" Alexandria's expression was cold. "Yes, I see it." Joaquin's eyes narrowed. "You don't believe me, do you? You think I'm sleeping with her?" Alexandria's voice was devoid of emotion. "I know you're incompetent when it comes to keeping an eye on that woman." Mia's smirk grew wider. "Henceforth, Mia is in charge of Katherina." Miss A commanded. Joaquin's anger simmered just below the surface. He knew he had to tread carefully. Alexandria's distrust was palpable, and Mia's hatred for him was evident. As the tension hung in the air, Joaquin's gaze lingered on Katherina's retreating form. He knew he had to keep a closer eye on her. She was a wild card, and he couldn't afford to let her slip through his fingers again. ********************************
