Two Alphas, One Human

Astrid: I can’t believe that I had to move to this little town. I had a dream to have a successful little shop. I would sell my beautifully made items and live my best life but that is sadly not real life. In the real world, you have to make money to pay your bills and I have bills.  Appling is gorgeous. I love the open fields to drive through and the small town feel. Augusta is just close enough to go out shopping and to get something to eat. People don’t like here but I love it.  I work full time in a small gas station to make ends meet and do my crafting in the evenings. It’s a great way to relax. I fire up those turner and pour the glitter onto everything. It makes life so much better to sparkle but first I have to get to work.  I have been a regular here for some time now and I love getting to know everyone that comes into the store. We don’t often get friendly visitors so I absolutely noticed when this gorgeous man walked in.  He looked like he belonged in runway show for extreme weight lifters. His biceps were bigger than my head and covered in delicious tattoos. He had to be at least 6’5”. Yeah, I definitely would have remembered this amazing being. He walked in like he owned the place. His eyes were darting around like he was looking for something in particular.  I got the nerve up to finally do my job: “Can I help you find anything, sir?”. I caught his eye and I swear that I heard a growl. What the heck was that?! Did I do something wrong? I was so lost in my own confusion that I almost missed him saying his pump number. I quickly rang up his gas order and that’s when I looked him in the eyes. God, he had beautiful eyes. They were a perfect deep brown. The type of brown that looks stormy but draws you in. That is when I noticed the rest of his face.  He had a perfect chiseled jaw that ended in a little Clift. His skin was olive toned and so smooth looking but also rugged at the same time. Maybe it was the thick beard that have the rugged look. His short black hair was perfectly swooped back and the sides were shaved. I just want to move my fingers through that hair. Then I hear it. I hear the throat clearing that is, clearly, trying to get my attention.  “I am so sorry. I spaced out there for a second. Do you need anything else?” “No, I just need my receipt so I can leave.” Said the mystery man. “Of course. I am sorry. Here it is. Have a nice day!” He turned and left without another word.  Good job, you i***t. “Have a nice day.” That is all that you could come up with? Not that he would have wanted someone as plain as I am but still! You could have at least come up with something better than that.  I can still smell him. He smells expensive and like trouble. The type of smell that makes you immediately wet. Ugh…why is he so perfect? I just need this night to end so I can go home and think about something else.  Sedrick: I don’t want to be here any longer than I need to be. I don’t understand why all of the alphas needed to come all the way down to Appling to have this meeting. Seriously, a quick email would have been sufficient. I am only here because my little brother couldn’t take my place. He had to stay back and handle the pack while I am here.  Alpha Derrick wanted to make sure that we all had our plans in place for any type of rogue attack. Being near a military base means that he has to deal with new members coming and going all of the time. We do not have to worry about that though. Our pack has had no new members besides the odd mate being added in or leaving.  My pack borders are always secured and we have never had an issue so why am I all the way down in the country? It makes no sense. Alpha Derrick just wants to go on a power trip. It isn’t needed or respected.  I need gas so I stopped off at this little gas station. As soon as I got out of the car, my wolf is on edge. “What the hell is wrong with you, Blaze?” “I am not sure but I think mate is around here.” “Well, let’s go in and find her.” I walked into the little rundown gas station and am immediately hit with the best smell ever. It smells like Christmas morning. Pine tree, cinnamon, and vanilla cookies. I don’t think there could be a better smell than my mate. I am looking around frantically trying to find her. My eyes skim by the frumpy cashier quickly and I can’t find her. No, it can not be the cashier. She is not my type of woman. I am just going to look her in the eye quickly and see. f**k! She is staring at me, slightly drooling, and she is my mate. There is no mistaking it. I feel the pull and Blaze is loosing his mind. “Go get mate! She is beautiful!” I walk ups the cash register and ask for $30 on pump 4. She is still just standing there staring at me. I try to clear my throat to get her attention. It works and the most amazing voice hits my ears. Her voice is so soft but high pitched. She sounds like an innocent angle and those eyes. They are a honey brown and I am melting in them. I look at her entire face and it hits me. Her face is round. Her brown frizzy hair is thrown up into a messy bun and her makeup is light. She is pretty but her face is round. I can see her large breasts and would bet that she is a size 14. I like my women thin and tall. This girl can’t be taller than 5’3”.  She keeps apologizing and it’s annoying. I say thank you and leave. I have to get out of here before I make a mistake.  Blaze is screaming in my head,“NO! Go back and get our mate!”. “I can’t do that and you know it. She isn’t right for us. She is a human. A human can’t be a Luna to a large pack like ours. She won’t be able to handle it and she doesn’t look the part.”I feel bad for saying it but he has to know that. He knows that is not what I like.  “You don’t know that she can’t handle being Luna. You have to give her a change. Maybe you don’t know what type of woman that you like! You have to tell Sebastian right now.”  “Absolutely not! You know that he will automatically all in love with her. He has wanted our mate for years now.”  I quickly snap our connection and start pumping my gas. I can’t risk Seb finding out about her. I think her name tag said Astrid. That is beautiful name. s**t! No, it’s just a regular name. I can’t start thinking about her like that. I have to get home quickly.
