All the rest of the drive to Marcus’s, I was praying. I knew that either Merina, or her coven might know something. I remember my father telling me about Marina being a witch when I was very young, and I knew she had been around a long time - not that you would think that if you saw her. She appeared so young, but witches lived for a long time, and her coven had been around for centuries. If they couldn’t help, then I didn’t know what I would do. I wanted a family with Elizabeth so much, but I wasn’t going to put her in danger. Until we managed to break this curse, I would take care as to not get her pregnant. I didn’t want to start a countdown, that I had no way of stopping. I wouldn’t cause my mate's death!
