We had been driving for a little over an hour and the car ride had been strangely quiet so far. Victor was busy concentrating on the drive, but he didn’t seem to want to interact with me. I wasn’t aware that I had done anything to upset him, but I wanted to break the silence.
“So, did Marcus actually say what happened last night?” Victor gave me a side look.
“So, it sounds like the rogues attacked from more than one direction. He said small packs were appearing everywhere. Some even managed to reach the packhouse.”
“What? Did he say how long it lasted? How many there were?”
