Chapter 6

Lillian:         Today I have completed all my studies and finished school early. So, I decide to go to my sisters office and talk to her. It feels like ages since we talked. I mean we talk every day but nothing deep and I need a deep conversation right now. It’s been to long and she is my outlet, she is my go-to when I need someone, she understands me most.           KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK          “Enter!” Adonis said.           As I walk in she has he face buried in papers all over her desk.          “What do you want?” She said coldly.           “Can we talk?” I said to her.           “Oh, I’m sorry Lillian I didn’t know it was you. I’m sorry. I thought it was someone else bring me more paperwork.” She said laughing.            “As much as I’ve been studying and reading I wouldn’t dream of bringing paperwork in here. If I had some in my hand you might have bit my head off.” I said to her laughing.             “I’ve been so frustrated I just might have!” She said back but still with a smile on her face. Looking at her she was the identical replica of our mother. She was so beautiful with her dark hair and bright blue eyes. Why won’t she let someone love her?            “What is it?” She asked me with a look of concern.             “Nothing I was just thinking.” I answered. “Anyways, can we talk?” I asked her.            “Of course, about what?” She said leaning back in her chair taking a deep breathe and letting out a sigh, almost like she’s exhaling all her stress.              “Nothing in particular, we just haven’t talked in so long that I miss you and I wanted to talk just about life.” I said to her.             “Okay, well pull up a chair and we can talk then sister!” She said as she gestured to a chair by her desk.            Pulling up the chair in say by her desk “so how is your paperwork going?” I asked.             “Let’s talk about anything but that!” She said as she smiled and swirled her chair to face me. “How is college going?” She asked me.            “Actually great! I have learned so much of the modern medicine. It is insane when you get to learn about all the different kinds there are and then all the different combinations of certain medications is even greater.” I said to her.           “You are truly passionate about healing in more ways then one.” She said to me smiling.            “Yes I am what are you truly passionate about sister?” I asked her.             “Well the pack, protecting everyone, training..” she said trailing on.               “I don’t think these things are passions I think they are duties and roles you play. What is something that you wake up for and live for. Something you enjoy doing to take your mind off the stress of work?” I asked her.               “Well to be honest sister nothing. I do so much here I don’t have time for a passion or a hobby I suppose. My passion is protecting my family and that’s all I know.” She answered me. Her answer was solid but it made me sad because she was right. What made Me even more sad was the fact that this was true. Everything she said was true and she wouldn’t want to do anything else. She enjoys this.             “Do you remember when we were younger snd we had all these crazy ideas for this compound. We had so many ideas that at the time seemed so great but now so irrelevant. Like that Massive pool with the water slides we wanted to build?” I asked her.             “Oh, yes. Yes, indeed I do remember that. I must say though even being 22 I think that’s still a great idea. One of the best we’ve had!” She told me and laughed again. “Matter of a fact I’ll make note to get an estimate!” She said again still laughing.             “It is crazy how much stuff we have been through in our life and we are only 22. It is just insane to think about how much our lives are changing and scary at how much they could change in a split second.” I said to her as I looked down to my hands that were resting in my lap.               “Yes it has been an adventurous life so far. But that doesn’t change that no matter what happens or no matter the threat I will always protect you.” She said to me. “Do you think something will go wrong? Are you scared of something?” She asked me again this time concern flashing her face.            “No nothing is wrong. It just pains me to see you up here in the office working so much when you could be doing so much more with your life. I know we are prophecies and we are restricted a lot to what we can and can’t do because of people wanting to harm us but that doesn’t mean you have to bury your head so far into paperwork or training that it slowly kills you.” I said to her.           “I will be fine. Dont worry about me. I just want the best for you and I just wish you saw the world how I see it for a day and you would understand how cruel of a world it is.” She said to me.           “I do see it as a cruel, evil, dark world sister but i was born to heal. So when I see something broken I am naturally inclined to fix it.” I told her.           “My sweet sweet sister this is why I love you but this is why I worry so much. Sometimes you can’t save everyone or everything.” She said to me with a saddened look on her face.             “No, but i can try.” I answered her back because that is exactly what I am doing.            “Yes, and If anyone believes in you it is me. Now, what are we having for dinner?” She asked me.            “Oh Chinese takeout for sure!” I answered her.            She made a weird face but agreed!
