Finding Him

1010 Words
Dawn           I was upset at mom. She needed me to learn how to handle situations, and instead of scolding me, she should be at least supporting me.      'She is our mother, she worries' I heard Cicely speak. I tried to shut her out, but she continued 'don't you dare shut me out, you know I hate that'      "I get it, Cicely, but she needs to give us a little freedom. Not keep us here locked" I replied with such anger that Cicely wanted to release my shadow Amalia to make me feel better.       "Okay, Amalia, you can come out" I laughed and the little feline shadow didn't waste time and embraced me "okay lovely girl, I get it. I feel better now"      I heard a knock on the door, and I stood up to open it, revealing my dad on the other side. I looked down as a sign of respect. He was not only my father, but the King. He walked to me and lifted my chin up, while putting my black wavy hair behind my ear.      "What is going on, my princess?" he asked, concerned. I didn't dare look at him.      "Look at me," he ordered, and I looked up with glassy eyes "your mother is just trying to protect you. We went through so much with the humans that she is scared one day they might come back and hurt you"      "I understand dad, but I want her to let us do this. We need to be ready to protect this kingdom if needed. She needs to trust us," I tried to make them see this is what I needed. If I was going to be the next queen, I needed to learn.       "Sweetheart, you are not ready. We need to train all of you first, and then you can venture outside"      "But, dad. It feels like a prison here. Maybe my brothers are okay with it, but not me. I want my adventure!" I replied. Amalia hid inside of me, a little rattled by our argument. Dad hugged me and tried to calm me down, and I just gave in.      "I know, sweetheart. For now, let's just not get your mother upset"      "Dad-"  "Just... for now" his words were final, and I had no choice but to obey.      "Okay, dad. I will listen to you" I said while he laughed and hugged me again.      "You know, you can always talk to your mother and tell her your concerns without arguing with her. That is the only way you will solve the problem," he suggested. Mom and I were too stubborn for our own good.         Cicely suddenly growled, and I turned towards the window. "There is someone out there" I whispered.      "What?" dad asked, I am sure he didn't hear me. I just looked at him. I shook my head, reassuring him not to mind me.      "Never mind, I have been kind of off lately" I smiled. He frowned, but decided not to pry and kissed my forehead.      "Have a good night, sweetheart"       "Good night, dad". As soon as he left, I decided to check what Cicely was growling about. I shifted and flew silently through the air and into the woods. I needed to know who was out there.      As soon as Cicely reached the woods, she landed on the ground and looked around. Her eyes glowed. They were a silver color, the color the Moon gave her that night. She was trying to catch a whiff of whatever or whoever was out here.      'What is it, Cicely' I asked, curiously.      "There is someone here, Dawn. But I can't seem to be able to locate him"       'Him? How do you know is a him?' I asked, confusion and fear taking over me from within her.      "I can feel their heart beating. It's fast, but steady" she responded as she kept walking around to try to find the person hiding. It was eerily quiet. Out of nowhere, a man catches her by surprise, but she is faster and dodges him. She tries to fly, but he catches her by her leg and pulls her down.      'Cicely, fly away!'       "I can't Dawn, he's strong!"      'You are stronger than anything, don't let him stop you!'      Something about this man was making her weak, and she couldn't escape. Her growl became louder, scaring him into letting her go. He finally let her go and backed away.       The man started running and Cicely followed him, flying through the air faster than any other Gargoyle in the kingdom. She was very powerful, and she took that to her advantage.       "Amalia, come out sweetie," she ordered.      'Are you sure you want to let her out now?' I questioned her decision. She ignored me and kept flying while Amalia floated in the air until she reached the mystery man.       A scream could be heard, and I knew she had reached him. Cicely landed on the spot he was at    , with Amalia surrounding his body, and not letting him move.      "Who are you, and what are you doing in these woods?" she asked him. He looked up slowly, showing her his big, hazel eyes. His hair was black like the purest ebony on earth, and his facial feature was that of a God. I could feel our heart beating at a hundred miles per hour as Cicely kept approaching him. He was not saying a single word.      'Cicely, don't. Let's go back home, I have a bad feeling about this' I tried to convince her, but she was being drawn to him. As she got closer, I was feeling drawn to him too. This cannot be, it is impossible.      She opened her wings and looked at him with our silver eyes as she tried to study him from up close.       'Oh no, this can't be Cicely, can't it?' I asked, afraid of the answer she might give me.      She growled in a low tone, as to not scare him. She sat there, and the next thing I heard was....      "Dawn, he is our mate"
