Chapter Two: First Day At Work

The Next day
The loud blaring of the alarm woke Anna from her sleep, "urgh" She groaned and opened her eyes slowly then she sat up, switching off the alarm, she yawned and her eyes moved to the clock and her eyes widened.
"Oh gosh! Am late" she yelled and jumped out of the bed then rushed to the bathroom and hurriedly had her bath.
The thing is that she was called yesterday that she was employed and she was told to resume today.
Walking out of the bathroom she creamed her body, put on her clothes and sprayed perfume on her body, luckily she had already prepared her things for today so she just took her bag and walked out of the room.
"Morning mum, am off" She said to her mum when she got downstairs.
"You won't eat breakfast again?" Mrs Jones asked.
"Am late, say hi to Jasper for me" Anna said and walked out then walked to the roadside, thankfully a cab was already coming so she stopped it.
"Alejandro Groups" She muttered.
"Get in" the driver said and she got in.
When they arrived at the company it was already 10:02am so she quickly paid the driver and rushed into the company then went straight to the receptionist.
"Hi, I'm Anastasia Gregory" Anna said.
"Oh the new employee" the receptionist asked.
"Yes I am" She replied.
"OK go to the 16th floor, that is where the CEO office is located"
" OK thanks" Anna replied then rushed to the elevator and pressed the 16th button, she started waiting for it to stop.
When the elevator stopped she went out and she saw an office with CEO boldly written on the door so she walked to the office and knocked on it.
"Come in" A cold voice said so she opened the door and entered.
"Good morning sir" She greeted Edward who was sitting on his chair.
"You are late" Edward spoke up.
"Hmm..sir it was traffic" She replied.
"But when I checked there was no traffic jam this morning" He said.
"Err.." Anna scratched her hair nervously when she realised that she had being caught while Edward only stared at her.
"Am sorry" she fsaid.
"The next time you come late again you won't like what you see" Edward muttered.
"OK sir" she nodded.
"Now to the rules and regulations" He muttered.
"OK" She nodded and looked at him.
"Firstly, you don't come late to the office, I must not get to the office before you. Secondly, you don't look me in the eyes when I talk" he said staring at her and she quickly looked away.
"Who does he think he is, that I must not look into his eyes" she thought.
"And again you add little sugar while making my coffee, do you get it?" He asked.
"Yes sir" Anna nodded.
"Go and make me coffee" Edward muttered and took a file from the table the started going through it.
"Hmm sir where do I make your coffee" Anna asked and Edward looked up.
"There" He pointed at a place in the office.
"Okay" Anna muttered then walked to the place and started making the coffee.
When she was done she took it to him.
"Sir your coffee" she said and stretched it to him and Edward took it and took a sip.
"Nice, she is really good at it" he thought and took another sip.
"Sir how is it?" she asked and Edward looked at her.
"Bad" He simply muttered and took a sip.
"I don't think so , cause you are rushing it like it's gonna run away" She smiled.
"Are you talking to me" he asked.
"Yes" She smiled.
"Are you crazy" he furrowed his eyebrows.
"A little bit" she smiled again.
"You know what, get out" he glared.
"Okay sir" she replied and walked out with Edward staring at her.
"How dare she talk to me that way" He thought and took a large gulp from the coffee,
"She will pay" he muttered and pressed a button and Anna who was outside came in.
"Sir" she said.
"Am done with the coffee" Edward said.
"Okay" Anna muttered lowly, took the cup from the table and put it where it is supposed to be.
"Take this file and proofread it then bring it back to me, the table outside my office is yours" Edward pointed the file to her.
" Okay sir" She replied and took the file then walked out of the office.
Sitting down she put on the laptop on the table and looked at the file then started working.
Some minutes later the bell rang and she stood up then went into the office.
"Sir, you called me "
"Yes I did, where is the file I told you to proofread " Edward smirked.
"I'm not done " Anna replied.
"You are not done since, How slow are you?" Edward yelled.
"You just gave me the file about three minutes ago and now you are asking for it, how do you expect me to do it, not like am flash or something " she rolled her eyes at him and that got Edward infuriated, that she still had the guts to talk and roll eyes at him.
"How dare you roll your eyes at me" he thundered with an angry look.
"Am just trying to explain to you that I am not flash, if you know you could do it fast then why did you give me to do it" She glared at him.
"I should do it" he pointed to himself and she nodded.
"Then why did I employ you?" he asked.
"To help you" she replied back looking at him.
"Stop talking back at me and don't look into my eyes " he glared.
"You asked a question" she rolled her eyes glaring at him.
"Seriously and you are not helping me cause am paying you"
"Anyhow" she smirked.
"You know what, take this file and print three copies of it then bring it back to me with the file I asked you to proofread " he said and handed it to her.
"Okay" Anna collected it and walked out.
"Gosh this girl is a pain" he hissed and continued his work.
Outside The Office
"What type of a man his he, so rude and grumpy" Anna ranted as she was proofreading the file.
"Who does he think he is that he wants me to bow to him" she continued her ranting when a guy walked to her.
"Hey" the guy called and she looked up.
"Good morning, who are you please?" Anna asked.
"Oh, am Marcus Baldwin " the guy called Marcus smiled and stretched his hand for a handshake and Anna took it.
"Anna" She smiled back, "At least someone with character " she thought
"Nice name you have got, hmm are you the new personal assistant " he asked.
"Yeah" she replied.
" Okay that's nice so is Edward in? " Marcus asked.
"Yeah that grumpy man is in" she replied and he chuckled.
"Okay thanks " he said and entered Edward's office.
