Chapter XLIV
Carolina I flick my training coin upwards. The second it reaches its highest point in the air, it stands still and glows brightly with heka. I try to hold it midair longer than I did last time, for over five minutes. After our last session, Anastasia had to miss training me these last three days because she had to rush back home to handle something with her division of Eye. She says it’s not a big deal and that our lessons will resume tomorrow afternoon. Since she’s been gone, I’ve been practicing on my own with the coin right before going to bed, which is what I’m doing now. Since that last session, I’ve also been thinking about what Charles has said. Sometimes I think maybe he’s right about Anastasia putting too much pressure on me.
