Growing up Trinity always saw herself as part of the boys & after a while, they accepted and got used to her being around. She felt as if they were less dramatic and their friendships needed less effort & energy to maintain. She had never had the urge to date one of them; she just didn’t see them in that way. Plus being part of the boys means that you get to hear all their crooked, little secrets & stories of how they trick and play girls. So neither did she have the motivation to.
“Hey,” Trinity jumps at the abruptness of the voice behind her. She turned on her heels them smiled the instant she saw Owen. “Owen you almost gave me a heart attack!” She playfully pushed him, letting out a sigh of relief.
Her favorite bell of the day had just rung signaling the end of the school day. “Come on Romeo said he would find us outside,” Owen gently took her hand, leading her to the door. When they reached outside she tried searching for Romeo In an ocean of heads but he was nowhere to be found.
The two stood in the parking lot underneath the oak tree and after waiting for what seemed to be years, he finally appeared with a cheerleader on his arm as expected, always a different one each time.
Romeo was the head of the football team; he was tall with broad shoulders and was athletically built. He had blonde, jelled to perfection hair & the face of a Greek God. He was wearing skinny, black jeans, Air force sneakers, a tight, deep blue t-shirt which was the same color as his eyes. The shirt tightened around his abs and arms, clearly imprinting his muscular structure through its fabric. Every girl worshiped the ground he walked upon and was more than happy to be by his side. Except for Trinity of course which initially intrigued Romeo but something he has gotten used to since they've been friends.
He says goodbye to the cheerleader earning himself a kiss on the cheek. As he walked over towards Trinity and Owen he reaches for something in his pocket. Standing in front of Trinity he hands her a rose with a tag attached to it
It read:-
No need to imagine
Coz you know it’s true
They say all good boys go to heave
But bad boys bring heaven to
“Hi,” he says in a low, husky voice he whispers into her ear. His breath smelt like vanilla and mint but his scent was masculine. Ever since people thought they dated in like sixth grade, Justin has been acting all romantic, hence how he attained the nickname Romeo.
“Thank you,” Trinity battering her lashes up at him. “You’re welcome,” giving her a million-dollar smile that could phase any girl within a 10-mile radius.
"Alright we get it, you got straight teeth. Can we go home now? I'm hungry." Owen moaned, walking towards his car
Owen was slightly taller than Romeo with dark brown, carefree hair following the wind every time it blew. He was the lone, mysterious type, the school rebel and he had the look for it too. Every guy wanted to be him and every girl wanted to be his. Wearing a black, leather jacket with a grey shirt, leather pants, and converse all-stars he was always prepared to play his part.
They always rode home together, joking around. At school they were Owen and Romeo were seen as rivalry icons. Romeo the all-American boy & Owen the hot outcast. Masters of their universes Idols that everyone and everything revolved around. But out here, with her they were just regular guys, the people she enjoyed spending time with, her friends.
After Owen suggested they pass by the park they reached her house at last. “Bye guys,” she hugged them both then got inside. She closes the door behind her.
She lives with three of her brothers, her step-father, a nanny, and her mother. Her father was no longer in the picture ever since the divorce. She enjoyed visiting him though, she got to see her two older sisters [Sabrina & Alexis] and her only older brother [Xavier] who was her favorite mostly because he was the closest to her age plus he understood her best.
“Trinity your mother would like to see you,”
her nanny [Marie] called as Trinity dragged her feet up the stairs pulling her bag behind her.
“I’m coming,” she got into her room closing her door behind her. She checked her social media with her back on her bed and feet on the wall. Trinity had always been one of the main gossip topics ever since she started hanging with Owen and Romeo.
She logged into her account and was met face to face with a massive load of comments and texts. She had managed to infiltrate the online gossip group [All thanks to Owen] and saw all the things they said about her.
For other people, it would probably hurt them or send them into a deep depression but for her, it only boosted her self-esteem. Knowing how much time they spent talking and planning against her, trying to haul her down to their level. It was a bit humorous actually. Occasionally she would feel bad for them, it was sad really that they were so envious of her only because she had what they couldn’t have. It was useful to her because she would always be prepared for their pranks.
“Trinity your mother would like to speak to you,” Marie’s voice pierces through the door.
“Yeah, I’m coming,” jumping out of bed instantly, following Marie to her mother [Miranda]. Her mother was a bittersweet mixture, who fell in love with order.
“Yes mother,” she said at the entrance of the spacious library.
“Take a seat we need to talk,” she commands calm and slow. You know that gut feeling you get when you know you didn’t do anything wrong but yet you still feel nervous so you double-check what you’ve been doing these past few days just to make sure. Well, that’s how she feels every time those words leave her mother’s mouth.
Trinity sat down allowing her mother to exhale, her eye’s not leaving Trinity’s. “Your father would like you and the boy to come to visit him for the first four weeks of the holiday.”
The topic of Trinity visiting her father was always a touchy one for the both of them. Trinity's resentment for her father ran deep but over time she had learned to bury it. She had vowed to only visit when she was positive her other siblings would be there as well, to catch up.
“I need you to take care of your younger brothers," [Zack, Luke & Nick] a phrase she would always hear before they left. “Yes mother, I will,” an over-used response to an over-said request. “You are excused,” Trinity got up, retreating to the kitchen
Her phone binged the moment she opened the fridge, she ignored it choosing the snack she would take up with her for her study session. She decide to settle for three packets of dried mangoes.
“ What would you like for dinner Trinity?” she heard over the sound of pots and pans smacking together behind the fridge door.
“Anything is fine really."
Shutting her bedroom door behind her she decided to respond to some of her messages.
