Chapter 9

I woke up to the sound of running water. I buried my head deep into my pillow, why would Esther be showering so early.

After five minutes it went silent, then I heard the click of the bathroom door. Esther appeared from the bathroom covered in my black towel, that stopped mind way on her thighs.

She walked over to my closet my eyes followed her movements. My head head was still against the pillows, if this was a dream, it sure was a great one. “You’re an early bird, where are you rushing to.” I mumbled my tone sounded weak and tired, oh I was.

“We’ve got business to attend don’t forget. Plus would you have been comfortable showering with me?” she spoke as she looked through my clothes. Only if she knew I definitely would have been Cool with showering naked with her, I exhaled weakly while getting out of bed.

Esther stood on her toes as she looked through the upper shelf, her legs looked great, so so great. I shook my head in disagreement with my thoughts. “Where and what exactly are we doing?” my eyes were fixed on Esther, she had a great body it was hard not to check her out.

“It’s a surprise and Rue, I can feel you’re staring.” She got a medium sized black t-shirt with grey sweat pants. She walked dropped them on the bed giving me a quick smirk, her hands were on the edge of the towel, she started to untie the knot. As much I wanted to see her, it would just make everything weird, I rushed off to the bathroom. As I closed the door I could hear giggling from the other side.

When I was done with my bath, I walked back to the room, the towel covering my lower half while the soaked shirt covering my upper body. I took out my attire, a yellow short with a white t-shirt and black sneakers.

I watched Esther in disbelief as she refused to leave, she slept back against the bed as her legs were crossed and her arms were behind her head. I grabbed my clothes then went to dress up in the bathroom, Esther wasn’t going to see anything.

I returned to an empty room and a made bed, she loved taunting me. I wore my shoes then went downstairs, where probably Esther was. “You made breakfast?” I asked as I saw the sandwich on the counter.

“Nop. Now grab it and let’s go, breakfast involves cooking and am certain I didn’t cook.” I grab my peanut butter sandwich along with my keys.

We picked up Charlotte first before heading to the park. The drive could never be quiet with Charlotte, Her and Esther kept talking and I laughed at most of the topics.

We walked down the small hill, in sight I spotted Noah, yes Charlotte’s Noah and her had a friend by his side. I’ve met him before, he’s better than Noah on commitment. Charlotte hugged Noah, Esther shook their hands while I just shook my head in acknowledgement. We all sat down, Char and Noah in a conversation of their own, Esther and Edwin killing it in the flirting game and I? Killing it in the fake I don’t care zone.

While I was actually thinking of ways on how to murder this boy. My glare looked like I had stabbed him countless time already, and I wish I did.

Someone cleared their throat which instantly got my attention, of course it was Char. “So guys. What’s the plan.”

“Spend some time here, then go party till we drop.” Noah pumped his fist in the air, he had a childish grim on, Charlotte looked at him with full admiration, my best friend was definitely hooked.

“Why party, if I may ask.” I looked at both of them, partying was cool but I had to know why.

“For my birthday.” Noah answered, I shook my head letting him know I understood. Atleast Charlotte could have told me then just dragging me, I would have agreed, for her. “let’s go for a walk.” Esther suggested and everyone agreed.

“Noah can I talk to you for a bit.” I grabbed his arm lightly before he went any further away.

Charlotte looked at me with unease written all over her face, I shook my head “I won’t kill him, it’s just a civilized talk.” Noah assured her by placing a kiss on her lips then she walked away leaving us two.

“Look I’m just going to be forward about this. Don’t hurt her again please, she loves you. She told me and I saw how she looks at you, just try for her and happy birthday.” I placed my hands deep in my pockets as I studied his face, it looked at ease?

“Thanks and I won’t, I love her and I know I did some really shitty things, I regret them.” He looked at the ground when he paused for a second, then he looked back into my eyes. “I don’t want to loose her.”

“Good, ‘cause I will kill you.” he gave me a nervous laugh, I shook his hand firmly then we followed the others.

I caught up with the rest after a while, I had to think. There were standing Infront of a food truck, I guess that was lunch. Edwin was really making Esther laugh, like really laugh, I didn’t like the way he had grown on my girlfriend, huge gap between girl and friend. I sighed then took a bite of my chicken and remained quiet.

Charlotte gave me side glances, but I reassured everytime with a mouthful smile, I didn’t want to worry her. After our meal, we stayed at the park a for an hour, enjoying the landscape, for me that is.

We were now on our way to the party Noah was hyped about, I drove back with only Esther, Charlotte got a ride with the guys.
