Chapter 8

"And that's a bad thing?" she asked puzzled, I knew she was jumping inside but I wasn't, not anymore. "Come on you fool tell me."

I sighed "It meant nothing to her than a mistake kiss from a stranger. And she has a boyfriend plus the fact that she emphasized I was just a friend to her best friend, definitely defines it as a bad thing."

"Mmm, Still inviting her over." She sent Esther the message before I could grab the phone from her. "She'll be over in ten minutes lover girl." I clenched my teeth in annoyance, Charlotte kept laughing her lungs out.

After ten minutes of Char getting on my nerves, I heard the front door open. My heart started beating faster, I could feel my hands sweating and I could tell Charlotte enjoyed it.

A head popped up from the door, she smiled "Hello guys." she walked up to the couch beside me and sat down.

"Hello." I and Charlotte both said in Union but Char's voice was more hype.

"Want some?" Charlotte asked Esther as she held out a pack of unopened snacks, Esther nodded then got the biscuits.

We spent the whole afternoon eating snacks and binging on Netflix. Charlotte left just ten minutes ago, and I was left with Esther, it wasn't bad just awkward to contain myself.

"Would like to see your room." Her tone was super friendly, more than usual. I gave her a smile then got up from where I was sitting leading her to my room. She followed me up the stairs into my room.

The black walls didn't shimmer at all, it was dark when we walked in, I turned on the lights. Esther eyes flinched from the walls to the bedroom ceiling.

"Wow, you did that?" I agreed with a smile.

She moved her eyes from the ceiling to the mini book shelf, her feet started to move towards the book shelf. "Pride and prejudice, Romeo and Juliet. This is a pretty cheesy collection."

"Yeah, but those were for a literature class I took last semester. My actual books are YOU, The vampire diaries series, Shadow hunters series and those other two." I pointed to the rest of the books I didn't mention.

"Now that sounds more like you. You also like black a lot." she trailed her eyes from every wall.

I gave her a weak smile before sitting myself down on the bed. Esther slept on her tummy.

We actually had a conversation like before the kiss, nothing felt weird at all, well till the fact that she would be spending the night.

We were currently downstairs help mum out with dinner, I wasn't helping because mum just wanted Esther alone, to quiz her with questions.

I was with my father on the couch waiting for dinner like the (wo)men we were, lol. I could hear laugher from the kitchen, now and again, my father and I watched the game silently.

Dinner was set on the after five minutes, I sat beside Esther while my parents sat across from each other. Dinner was less quiet with Esther around.

After I did the dishes along side Esther we went to watch a movie, Then came you. We watched it half way when I started to notice Esther was dozing. I switched off the TV while Esther made her way to the room.

I handed her my orange short and white t-shirt for her to sleep in. When Esther returned from the bathroom, the short was above her thighs, my eyes travelled from her legs to her eyes.

"Cat got your tongue?" Esther asked as she walked over to the bed. My mouth went dry and my eyes couldn't move away from her body.

I continuously shook my head then decide on turning off the lights, so she couldn't see my mouth watering on the floor. I looked like a lost puppy, this had to change.
