Chapter 2 Truth Be Told
“Anna what are you talking about?” Liam questioned amusingly.
“She's hiding something. What is it?” Aden growled at me, I could see him trying to control his wolf.
I sighed as I began to tell them about everything I had felt after the incident in my room, the thoughts that coursed through my head, the revenge I wanted. The hatred I had for my own kind was ridiculous, how could I forgive such a thing. Little did they know I hated myself more.
“That doesn't explain why you did what you did. There's other ways to handle your pain, hell you managed to come back stronger.” I could feel the interrogation in his eyes.
I looked at my brothers, terrified of what they may say or do after I tell them the truth behind my secret. I held their gaze for what seemed like hours, I needed them to know or this family would be broken.
“You need to understand, the pain was unbearable, I wanted to die. I was given a choice and I took it.” I took a deep breath in before I unfolded the truth.
“I made a deal with Ziena.” I didn't tear my gaze away from my brothers, their faces went paler than chalk. It didn't take long for Aden to unleash his wrath.
“What the hell is wrong with you!” Aden’s voice echoed through his growl. “You made a deal with a demon? Show me your eyes.” He demanded.
“Wait, you sold your soul to a demon?” Liam asked slowly.
“No, I didn’t sell my soul. Liam who do you get your information from?” I honestly don’t know where my brother gets all this information that is unsure from.
“Your eyes.” Aden demanded yet again. I glared at him, I could feel the anger radiating from him.
“Why do you want to see my eyes?” I walked closer to him, there had to be a reason he kept pushing to see my eyes. His face softened a little, was that fear I smelled? What did he know? A growl escaped my lips, I could feel the fire within me burn through veins, my fangs forced their way forward. Before I knew it, I had my brother up against the wall.
“What the hell!?” Aden yelled as Liam was trying to pry my hands off Aden, but I was stronger than him.
“Is this what you wanted to see!” I yelled as I bared my canines and let my eyes show their true color now.
“Your eyes...they’re...they’re red.” Aden stuttered as he looked me in the eyes. An Alpha’s eyes glow gold, all other werewolves' eyes glow green, if a werewolf takes an innocent life, their eyes glow a cold blue.
"300 souls! That was the vow I made. To send the souls of those who harm innocent children." I said as I pushed off Aden, Liam stood by him in shock as my eyes glowed a red instead of an Alpha’s gold color.
"For a price I assume." Aden said as he gulped back his fear. Liam stood in silence.
"There's always a price, I know who he is.”
"Anna, it doesn’t need to end like this.."
"This isn't the end, is only the beginning. He will pay for what he has done."
“So that’s what this is about, revenge on the rogue?”
“No, you’re not understanding. The pain I was feeling was unbearable, unbearable to the point I tried to take my life. I was in the woods alone, my thoughts going back to that night everything was ruined for me. I stabbed myself repeatedly, I wanted to die Aden.” A single tear escaped the side of my eye. “I was laying on the floor bleeding out, I didn’t allow my body to heal. Then she showed up and offered me a way to have my revenge, to be stronger than before, speed enhanced ten times more, heal faster than normal. All my senses, enhanced. My soul was not the price, instead it’s a thirst.”
“A thirst for what?” Liam asked.
“A thirst for blood. She made me a hybrid. Half werewolf, half vampire.” I could see the anger on their faces.
“All those you killed...you did it for their souls? What does that have to do with you being a hybrid?”
“As long as I take 300 souls, my soul will remain mine. If not, I become a demon-wolf, a werewolf without a soul.”
I will do whatever it takes to keep my soul.
