Chapter 1
Isandra's POV
"Why is he staring at me like that?"
I thought to myself as I made the third trip across the long, dimly lit hallway that led to the room I had been cleaning for the past hour.
I had caught one of the guards, tall and bulky with eyes that looked almost hungry, staring at me, his eyes threatening to rip my clothes off.
I wasn't interested in finding out what that was all about.
I made a right turn and I instantly got an eerie feeling that I was being followed as I sensed an ominous presence behind me,
And the hairs on my back stood straight as if alerting me of something. Although I couldn't hear any steps on the marble floor, I was very weary now.
I increased my pace, panting faster, and the feeling of the presence went away but it was only for a fleeting second.
"Phew"
"I'm alone again"
I thought to myself just as I turned the handle on the door, about to open it when
Aah
I screamed with everything in me, fear grabbing me by the throat
Though it came out muffled
I Clawed with my hand in an attempt to remove the hand over my mouth and failed.
I began to flail and squirm, still screaming, what was going on? What was happening? I thought
All my efforts were in futility
The hand that gripped me was too strong as it pulled me into the room I had just been about to open.
As I was taken into the room,
I fell to the floor, landing face forward as I was pushed down.
Scrambling on the floor, with my heart in my mouth, I turned to see a man locking the door behind him
I Knew where this was going all too well and it made my palms sweat.
I looked around the room, searching for anything I could use as a makeshift weapon
My eyes landed on the mop resting at the side of the bed and ready to defend myself as best as I could, I dived for it
I may not be so strong but I'll at least try to fight for myself as best as my weak self could
I didn't make it to the mop, nearly reaching. He turned to face me, and my eyes landed on his, crimson, much like the blood that was coursing through my veins.
That's when I noticed it was a guard
The same one that had been staring holes into me
But that meant he was a wolf, only wolves guarded the palace and had such red eyes
"Oh no"
I thought to myself
Every strand of hope of survival falls and fades away like dust in the air
This was much worse than I could have ever imagined
There is no getting out of this now, I thought again
I had only ever heard stories of wolves trying to take humans by force but I had never believed them, as preposterous as they sounded.
Everyone knew it was an abomination for wolves to have any physical relations with humans.
How could this even be happening?
Why werewolves always after me
And they say what you don't know won't harm you, so much for all that.
I pushed myself off the floor, trying to run for my life but it was all of no use
*Thump*
That was the sound as my back collided with the wall and he knocked me against it
I hadn't even recovered or fully processed what just happened when...
*Ripp*
The sound of my shirt tearing as he ripped it, exposing my upper half completely
I grew instantly cold and blood rushed like a wave to my cheeks as my fear now mixed with shame
“Where do you think you're going” he asked,
His voice came out frightening and scary as he practically growled, sending chills through me, his words coming out menacingly
I whimpered as He grabbed my hair in his fist, pulling it.
“You're mine and you'll do exactly as I tell you till I'm satisfied” he followed before he released the fist, letting my hair go
Now I could definitely hear the sound of my heartbeat in my chest and it was blocking out everything else
"what am I going to do now?" I asked myself
"Will I die before I even turn 18"
The thought came to me remembering my birthday was only a few days away.
Now that would be really sad
Trying to think on my feet and get out of this mess
I couldn't come up with any sensible thing to do to save myself
And somehow, out of nowhere, I had an idea and without even giving it a second thought
I knocked my head against his
*Ouchh*
My head throbbed with pain from the impact
I had used all my energy to deliver that head butt
But it only seemed to infuriate him further, I knew her weak head butt wouldn't do much but somehow I had believed even for a second it would give me a little opening to make a run for it
But something weird happened, almost unperceptibly; he flinched as if he was in some kind of pain as if the head butt had somehow managed to have an effect on him.
Could it have actually hurt him?
Holding on to that hope before I could convince myself otherwise,
I dropped to the floor as fast as I could, touching down on the squeaky clean tiles before and diving through and in between his legs, popping up right behind him
I managed to slip away
Still panting and scared but not with some flicker of hope
I headed straight for the door as fast I could, and once again didn't make it
All I could focus on was the sight of the door as I fell to the ground, screaming
He had grabbed hold of my leg and was now pulling me
Deep down I knew no one would hear my screams, ì was the only one who could save me
Mustering everything I had left in me I kicked hard against his hand with my other free leg and managed to push his hand off
Running faster than I had ever moved in my life, I raced for the door
Stretching out for my hand to read the handle before my body could, I turned the key he had probably forgotten to remove in haste, unlocked it and dived out.
I didn't stop running, I kept going, not really bothering with where I was going to just as long as it was far away from the direction I was coming from
What definitely ranked second only to my death.
I made a left turn at some point in my sprint.
*Thud*
Without looking I crashed head-first into something and the impact sent me straight to the ground
"Why was I spending so much time on the floor today" I thought
Rubbing my head and forcing my eyes open, I looked up to see what I had bumped into
But it was actually a who
