I woke up dripping wet! I had the strangest dream that I was in a volcano.

“Angel, are you ok?”

“Yeah I just had a bad dream, I need to get ready for my first day of school”

“Eric’s Dad is the principal, I’ll have him schedule your classes with ours so you are not alone” Charlotte started dialling a number and stepped out of the room.

“It’s ok, I just need a min. I’m feeling better now, Babe can you use your cool calming hands?”

“Of course I can baby” he touched my back and chest again and I could feel his healing travel through my body making me relax.

“Thank you, Mila I can’t go to school today, I’m not prepared and I don’t have a bag or books!”

Hunter started laughing. “Did you forget your mate is the next Alpha?”

“Both you girls have a backpack waiting for you in the foyer. It has everything you need for school and Mrs Nash has packed your lunches for you”

My cheeks flushed and I was a bit embarrassed. I gave him a hug and kissed his cheek “thank you my love, I don’t know what I’d do without you”

“Okay, everything is sorted at school, we have all the main subjects together, and then you will need to choose the electives you want to do. We can figure that out later”

“Do you do a language?”

“I do Italian and psychology as my electives. You can choose as many as you want but I only do 2 so I have more free periods”

“Awesome, I’ll do both of those, I did them at Moon Shine High School as well. I would also like to do an Arts class. Mila and I are quite crafty”

“f**k it, I’ll do all those too! You better help me with Italian though!”

We all laughed and said goodbye and headed off to the school. It was the building that extended from the Gym. Charlotte showed us to the lockers and went to home room. Everyone was staring, I heard a few snickers but they all silenced. I suspect Charlotte had something to do with that!

“Ahhh Miss Alyra Hannah and Mila Romira, welcome. I’m so happy to have you in my class. My name is Mrs Jules, if you need anything please let me know! Take your seats girls”

There were 3 seats at the front so we sat down and I linked the girls “do you feel like everyone is staring?”

“Some are jealous of you that you got Hunter as your mate. Ignore them. Most just want to talk to you and be your fan club”

“Fan club? Why would they want that?”

“Girl do I even need to answer that? You are smoking hot and their future Luna! Need I say more?”

“I guess So. I disagree with the smoking hot, but thank you”

She rolled her eyes at me, I really don’t think I’m that hot. I’m not ugly but I’m not a supermodel or anything! The day went quick and we all had the same classes. Days went by and then weeks. We were coming up to graduation. Hunter and I have spoken about becoming the next leaders but I just want to finish my schooling first.

Charlotte spotted me in the main hall and ran full speed. I caught her in my arms and she spun me around.

“ I think it’s time we start planning your Luna ceremony”

“Ahh what? That’s not until a few month yet. Plus doesn’t Hunter have to take over as Alpha first?

“Nope. It will happen on the same night. Mum and I have discussed it and I believe Hunter and Dad are talking about it right now. Eeeek I’m so excited. Mum says you are ready for it. She’s been impressed at how much you have learnt from her.”

“I love spending time with your mum. She’s like the mum I never had and she’s a beautiful Luna. I know she will keep guiding me but I don’t know if I’m ready yet”

“Mum loves you so much Alyra, she loves spending time with you as well. Now if you don’t mind, step into my office, we have some planning to do”

** MILA’S POV **

Last night was so crazy, Eric was like an energised bunny and we were at it til early this morning. I’m so tired but I needed to get up and get ready for our first day of school. Alyra was taking her sweet ass time and not answering my Links.

“Mila get to our room now, something wrong with Alyra” f**k! Hunter just linked me. I ran so fast I could hear Charlotte running after me but I just needed to get to Alyra quick. I got to the room and she was having a panic attack. I went through our breathing steps that I YouTubed years ago when she first started having the attacks and told her it was going to be fine. She was so brave and the most strongest woman in our old pack but she didn’t value herself which made her confidence decline. Something has triggered this, I need to make sure that we are in the same classes.

I linked Charlotte. “ can you link the person in charge at the school and have them move my schedule to be the same as Alyra’s? I will even do whatever elective she chooses”

“Onto it boss! You are such a good friend Mila” Charlotte walked out the room to make her phone call. I told Al that we would be together all day and we were in it together. I could see she was coming back to normalisation and asked Hunter for his cool calming hands. HAHAHA I still can’t believe she calls them that. It’s pretty cool and to think I might have so super cool gift too. That reminds me, I need to see Layla after school, I need to know what’s going on with me.

Al told us that she couldn’t go to school because she didn’t have anything to take, well there we go, that was her trigger. Alyra needs to know exactly what’s going on and needs to be prepared, if not, this sets her anxiety off. Mrs Nash has us all covered, we really have hit the jackpot here. Everyone is so loving and thoughtful. I grumbled at Alyra choosing her subjects, I didn’t mind psychology and we are crafty, so any type of Art class would do. We really on have 1 more term before we graduate so I couldn’t really give 2 hoots. I still had to tell Hunter that I’d accept his offer as his Beta but I’m sure he already knows. I’ll get around to it. Italian though, it’s not my strongest subject. Alyra was so good she knew 3 languages of course Italian being one of them. We took off to school and I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. Everyone was staring, I felt some real bad energy coming off from this one girl. She looked familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on it. We sat in the front row and I heard a few snickers. Charlotte told Alyra she was smoking hot! Yes!!! That exactly what she is but she doesn’t see it. Those Dead fuckers really f****d her self confidence. The day went quick. Nothing bad happened but I still felt like something was brewing. Charlotte was squeezing down the hallway and spotted us talking about Alyra’s Luna Ceremony but I couldn’t help but feel anxious about my Meeting with Layla and the Queen.

We got home and Layla was waiting for us.

“How was your first day girls?” Alyra’s face glowed and said “it was amazing, so much better than our old school.”

I just shrugged “Umm Layla, can we have that meeting now?”

“Of course sweetie, do you want to go and get changed first?”

“ no, now is fine. I need to know”

A purple mist appeared and the Queen waltzed in. She’s so mesmerising and I guess my Nan?

“I hear my presence is required. Hold my hand Mila, I’m taking you to my kingdom”

We held hands and teleported. This time I had no symptoms of dizziness. I looked around and couldn’t help but wonder where we were.

“What is this place?”

“This my dear, is where it all began. This is where your mother was born, Crystal Lake. Our coven is protected by spells, humans cannot see in, this whole kingdom looks like a city building to Humans.”

“Wow this is amazing! Can I bring Eric here?”

“Of course, Alyra will be able to come well but she will need you or Hunter until she bares a heir”

I couldn’t believe my eyes, in front of me was a gorgeous sand stone castle in the middle of a forest that was alive.

“Come on dear, there’s plenty of time to explore our kingdom, right now we need to talk in private, there’s too many eyes and ears out here” I looked around and we were surrounded by all types of little animals and the trees looks like they were leaning towards us. So weird!

We walked into the castle and I tried to just focus on us rather than was was going on around me.

“So let’s get straight into it, as you have by now figured out you are my granddaughter and need some explanations” I nodded.

“My dear Chloe, I miss her so much. I should have made her reject your father like I asked her to but I didn’t pursue it because I saw her beautiful children in her path and there was something special about the 2 of you, so I let her choose her own path with your father”

“Queen, why is she Layla’s half sister?”

“I fell pregnant before I met my mate. I was in love with your mothers biological father but he found his string when I was 5 months pregnant and left me. I have not seen or spoken to him since, he didn’t want to meet your mother. I met my mate when Chloe was 2 months old and he took her in as his own. We raised your mother together”

“Did mum know?”

“Yes, I had to explain that your grandfather wasn’t her biological father because she thought she was half wolf like her little sister, she was 6 years old and it broke our hearts”

I couldn’t help but cry for her.

“Don’t cry my dear, your mum was a strong witch, she had a very unique connection to earth. She didn’t need spells or ingredients to use her magic. She just had to focused and have an image of what she wanted to do. She could talk to nature and communicate with the trees.”

“Is that something you can do too?”

“Not quite. I don’t needs spells or ingredients to use my magic however I cannot speak with nature and move the elements like your mum did without spells.”

I rubbed my head. Jesse! Jesse plays with the elements.

“Is Jesse like her too? He’s always outside playing and talking to the rocks and water. I thought he was just playing”

“We suspect that he can but he’s too small to know for certain. Mila, has anything happened to you that you didn’t understand how? Had you moved any objects or blown things up?”

“Not that I can think of. But there is something I need to ask you. I feel and smell Mums presence all the time, more so at Black Moon. Is that even possible?”

Layla got up and looked out the window, then she turned to me and and grabbed my hand. There was an awkward silence until she spoke again.

“Mila, this is something that we have been worried about, we too feel the same and we think she’s trapped between here and the other side. She came to me the night she died, she told me to look out for you and bring you home. You were the key. I didn’t understand at the time and then we were told she died during childbirth. We Believe when you unlock your true powers, it will lead us to her. I’m still looking into it, but we might be able to bring her back, we just need you, the power of 3.”

I looked at Layla like I had seen a ghost! She came to her? What does that even mean? The power of 3? WTF?! Whatever I don’t care, I want my Mum back! “ When do we start?”

“Tomorrow after school, we will start your training if that’s what you want. We don’t want to pressure you”

“You’re not! I want my Mum back”
