In the NICK of TIME

Chapter 7

It's been a few hours since Kaisley and Nick arrived with a motorcycle owned by Nick. They still do not get off the motorcycle or even remove the helmet they are wearing. They just watched the coffee shop not far from where they are now.

"Are they the one that you're talking about?"

Kaisley quickly nodded at Nick's question. "I don't remember much of their faces that night, but I'm sure they were the people who were with Jhorn when they killed Maria."

Nick nodded at what Kaisley had said. Next to their motorcycle is a convinient store and a mercury drugs. From time to time, Kaisley and Nick look in the direction of the coffee shop, so that people who pass by them will not suspect them. Before leaving the house, Nick and Kaisley wore a couple shirt.

This is Kaisley's idea. At first, Nick did not want to agree with the girl's idea but in the end, Nick had no choice but to agree when Kaisley teased him. Kaisley explained to Nick her reason why she forced him to wear those clothes with her. Kaisley wants them to wear it so that when they look in the direction of the coffee shop, people will not look at them and they will look like an ordinary couple in their eyes.

Kaisley knew that such a cover-up would be successful because Aisle and Kaisley had already done it when they do their task about a big news that they handled. What they did was successful in the end and no one suspected them at all. Now, Nick and Kaisley will do it.

"Do you think Joe is safe to be with them?" Kaisley was worried when she thought about the possible consequences of Joe while the man is waiting for Nick with the men in black tuxedos.

"He's fine."

"How can you tell?"

Nick and Kaisley were still wearing helmets, so even when they spoke no one would notice about them.

"Well, I know he is." The young man shrugged his shoulders again as he always did.

Kaisley stared at Joe. Kaisley did not even see the slightest fear in Joe's action. The man seemed natural to move and act as if he was not known who was next to him.

"Wait me here. I'll give Joe the key." During Nick and Kaisley's long sitting on the motor, Nick was able to get off it. Before he finally walked away from Kaisley he turned to the girl again and spoke. "Oh, and by the way, wait me there for a couple of minutes."

Kaisley nodded to him before Nick finally turned his back on Kaisley. Kaisley was left alone after that. She just followed the young man's gaze. As Nick turned around and removed the helmet from his face, Kaisley could no longer hide the trembling of her hand because of the intense fear she felt. She silently prayed that the two men who helped him would be safe. Kaisley knew how violent they were. They can kill people if they wants to. That's why even if they are far from Kaisley's direction, she feels more nervous.

Kaisley touched the hem of her pants where she pinched and hid the film when Kaisley saw that Nick was completely close to the black tuxedos.

However, Kaisley almost jumped in shock when someone touched her from her back. She look back and saw a man wearing a black mask, black T-shirt and gray pants. He waved his right hand in front of Kaisley.

"Good day. I would just like to ask if you know where Santo Tomas Aquino University is?" The man who touched Kaisley asked.

She could not see his face because of the mask he was wearing. That's why, Kaisley didn't know who the person she was talking to was. Kaisley decided to answer the man's question anyway.

"Ah, just walk straight to that road and you will see a large arch. The name you say is written after that." Because Kaisley knew she was was on the run from the authorities, she decided not to remove her helmet because she didn't know if the man standing infront of her is one with them.

She did not know why the man's eyes seemed familiar to Kaisley when Kaisley stared at the man. It was as if she had seen it somewhere. Kaisley remembers Jhorn Ad's face, but it doesn't look like the man Kaisley is talking to today.

"Okay. Thank you very much." The man turned to Kaisley and left the confused woman.

The man's familiar voice added to Kaisley's astonishment. Kaisley would have stood up to chase it and ask, but then Nick came with a smirk on his face.

"We need to go before they can get close to us and force you to remove the helmet you are wearing."

Kaisley look at the coffee shop and only then did she remember that the men who were chasing her were there now.

"Why? How did they-"

Nick pointed to the dress he was wearing. That's why, Kaisley could not continue what she wanted say. But, Kaisley understand what is Nick referring to.

"Let's go. Maybe... Maybe..."

Nick got on the motorcycle. Kaisley was stunned when Nick grabbed her two hands and hugged them to the young man's waist.

"I said, don't worry. As long as I'm with you, I will protect you." After Nick put on his own helmet, he open the engine of the motorcycle and started to drive.

Kaisley did not ask about Joe's condition that they left in the coffee shop because she can't even move and removed her two hands that hugged to Nick's waist. Kaisley looked like a statue because of the young man's actions and words. She did not expect that thing. That's why, she also did not know what to do.

"My gosh, Kaisley. Is your brain so slow and you don't move properly?"

"Did you say something?"

Kaisley closed her mouth because she also did not mean to say the contents of her mind. The girl does not seem to be on her own because she can no longer complain about Nick's speeding of driving.

"You won't answer? Okay, fine. Who was the man you talked to earlier?"

Because of Nick's question, the image of the man she was talking to came back to Kaisley's mind.

"I did not know him. He just asked for directions to Santo Tomas Aquino University, then I showed him the direction."

Kaisley asked herself if Nick could also see the man and feel the same feeling she felt before.

"You're really a naive person." Kaisley did not understand Nick's response to her and as they continued their journey, Nick did not talk to Kaisley again.
