Lyssa After what felt like an eternity of me standing in the doorway, frozen, and Goose’s mom looking me over, she motioned to the dining table where my bag lay. “Goose sent that on over for you. He says if he missed anything, let him know, and he will stop by your place and get it for you.” Moving, I grabbed my bag off the table and held it in front of me as I backed up to my spot in the doorway. “Oh, thank you. And I can always walk over to the house…” Shaking her head no, I stopped talking, not finishing what I had started saying. “Sorry, dear, but for now, going back to the house isn’t an option. The boys are taking care of it, and when they feel it’s safe again, they will let us know. For now, when you are ready, I will drive you to the school so you can go to class. When you are done, someone will be ready to either take you to work or bring you back here.” Holding up a box that had been in the bag she had been pulling groceries out of when I walked in, drawing my attention to it. “Speaking of which, I stopped by the store before coming over. Goose told me some of what you like to eat. If there is anything I missed, let me know.” Slowly, I nodded my understanding and watched as she went back to putting the groceries away, even though I didn’t really understand. What could have happened at the house to make it “not safe” for me to go home to pick up a few things? A question I somehow knew if I asked it, she wasn’t going to answer. So I slowly turned around and made my way back to the bedroom to get dressed. Inside the bag were a couple of outfits, a couple of pairs of underwear, an extra bra, a couple of pairs of socks, my hair brush and toothbrush, my laptop, and my books. Taking one of the outfits, a pair of underwear, the bra, my hairbrush, and toothbrush, I went into the bathroom. Placing everything on the counter next to the sink, I looked around, debating whether to take a shower, but one look inside the shower and I changed my mind. Goose had an all-in-one soap, and that wasn’t going to work for me. How guys did the all in one thing and still some how have soft hair I will never understand. A girl needed separate shampoo and conditioner so her hair didn’t dry out and look like crap. Turning back to the sink, I decided to start by brushing my teeth with his toothpaste. Thankfully, there wasn’t a way for your toothpaste to be part of a hundred-in-one kind of situation, and toothpaste was toothpaste. As I finished that up, a soft knock on the door had me opening the door before moving on to get dressed. Standing on the other side of the door was Goose’s mom, a plastic bag in her hand. “I forgot to give these to you. Knowing my son, he doesn’t have much in the way of toiletries. At least not anything more than the one bottle.” “Thank you.” Laughing, I took the bag from her, opened it, and peeked inside. It wasn’t what I usually used, but I wasn’t going to be picky when it was nice of her to think of getting me something other than an all-in-one soap. This meant I could take a shower, something I didn’t waste any time on before getting dressed. Checking my phone, I was a little disappointed to see there were no messages from Goose. Since there was nothing from him, I decided to send him a message asking him if everything was alright. When he didn’t reply after a couple of minutes, I tucked my phone into my back pocket, gathered the books I would need for the day, and headed out, finding Goose’s mom waiting for me in the front room. “Do you need to eat something before we go?” I shook my head. “No, I will get something on campus.” Nodding, she stood up and led the way outside. I wasn’t surprised to see members from the MC outside. I was surprised to see more than one or two of them, who typically followed Emilia around. There were about six guys outside, all of them moving to their motorcycles as the two of us ladies got into her car. The guys were following the car as we headed to the college. Two of the guys were finding a parking spot near where I had her drop me off. To my surprise, the same two were taking up spots behind me as I walked inside to my first class. The two followed me to the point of even walking to the class with me and finding a couple of seats in the back of the room. Even more surprising, no one said anything about them being there. Sure, they got some looks from the other students, but the teacher didn’t even flinch. She saw the two gave a slight nod in their direction and went on with class as if them being here was normal. The same thing happened in my second class. The two followed me back outside, when I was done, finding Emilia waiting for me. Sighing with relief that it wasn’t Goose’s mom again. Not that I didn’t like her, but she made me nervous, and I am sure, given this morning being our first interaction, she wasn’t a fan of me. I couldn’t blame her, though, who wants to meet the woman your son has been sleeping with for the first time while she is dressed in her underwear and one of his shirts? Not to mention being in his home after she slept in his bed with him.
