Chapter 1: My Mother's Death
I was standing in the door with tears in my eyes. The room was dark, and the curtains was closed. My mom was lying in the bed weak and pale. I walked towards her, trying to hold the tears back. One single tear slipped out and ran down my cheek. I was standing by her bed, trying to form some words through my tears. “Mom?” I whispered with a raspy voice. “Elena….?” My mom turned her head towards me, she was very pale and had a weak smile on her face. “Elena, promise me to be strong and be cautious towards rogues and don’t agitate your stepfather.” “Mom, please stay with me, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to….” I said with tears running down my cheeks. “I know honey, it’s not your fault. I Love you honey.” Mom said and closed her eyes. I stayed by her side and cried for an hour and then I ran to a hill in the forest. My mom was gone, it was my fault my mom was gone, if I hadn’t run into the forest yesterday, if I had run to my room instead, this would never have happened. I had, like so often before, been in a fight with my stepfather James, he had been hurting my mom again and I had told him to leave her alone. He had slapped me across the face, and I had run to the forest. There I was surrounded by rogues, just as they were going to attack me my mom had landed in front of me and let out a growl to let them know, to leave me alone. When James finally showed up to help us, and the rogues finally left, mom was so badly hurt that James, had to carry her home. The pack doctor told us she wouldn’t make it, and now she was gone. I was 12 when my mother died, the whole pack blamed me for her dead, James hated me, more than he already did before this. James was the packs Alpha he had the power to make my life miserable. He had punched me that night, like he never had punched me before. My stomach hurt badly by the punching.
A month after my mom’s dead I was awoken by a slap to my face. “Get up, you lacy girl, go make the breakfast. You filthy B*tch.” James said. Then stumped out of my room. My cheek was red and swollen, and it hurt but I hurried to get dressed and went down to the kitchen to start breakfast, luckily mom had teached me how to cook. James was sitting by the table with his son Eric. Eric was a year older than me, before my mom died, he was like a brother to me, he was always there to help me or protect me, but now he ignored me. When I had served them breakfast, James told me to clean the house. When I was finished with my chores I went to school, I haven’t been to school since my mom’s dead, I was greeted at the door by Marian my best friend, Marian was the daughter of the beta. “Marian, I’m so sad. James keeps telling me it’s my fault…” I was interrupted before I could finish. “Don’t you ever talk to me again you filthy wh*re, do you think I would want to be friends with you? A murderer?” She said and then she left. I crumbled to the floor and started crying. My friend had abended me. I went in to go to my locker but was meat with angry eyes. I turned my head down, to avoid their gazes. When I had collected my books from the locker, I was pushed down to the floor. “What are you doing here, you murderer?” It was Matthew, Marian’s brother. Before my mom died, I had a crush on him, and I wished he would be my mate someday. “You dare to show up in school?” he then kicked me in my stomach and spat at me and left. Everybody laughed and told me I deserved worse than this. After school I went over to the Pack doctor to get her to help me. “Ms. Cane, what are you doing here?” the doctor asked “Please help me, they all kick me and tells me it’s my fault my mom is dead. Please you have to help me.” I said with tears in my eyes. She then looked at me with contempt “Of course it’s your fault your mother is dead. You deserve what you get, you ungrateful wh*re.” She then slapped me across the face and pushed me out the door. The tears were running dawn my cheek. Why was this happening to me? I ran to the lake, secluded from the village and sat there crying for hours. When I didn’t have any tears left to shed, I went home, where I was greeted by the Alpha. “Where have you been?” He roared, shaking the building. “I…I just…I was...” I stammered in fear. “Speak up, ungrateful b*tch!” “I was just by the lake in the forest.” He then came over to me and punched me in my stomach. I fell to the floor and he looked down to me. “In the future you better be home to make me dinner!” he then left me by the door. I crawled up to my bed and cried myself to sleep.
