I knew it! I knew very well that there is something wrong with me. But I didn't expect it to happen like this. Never. Not even once. Who thought that a nerd like me is a princess in another world? Well, not even me.
When I was taken by the darkness, I saw what was reality. Now, don't ask me about how I can trust something that I only saw in a mere second. Actually, it took away the wrongness I was feeling as long as I remember. That I don't belong here.
I saw where I truly belong. Where I was born. What happened to me. But it was very puzzling. I saw a man give me to a woman, and she cast some kind of spell on me. Then I grow up. Then I understood who was that woman. My granny. Then I was lying on the floor of Resh's room. Then I woke up. When I woke up, a man without eyes was sitting on his bed. I was taken aback first, but then, I saw Resh glaring at him. Which means he could also see him, and knew him.
"Yeah. You are right. He knows me." The man said. "Don't worry. I seek no harm. I am the one your mother chose to protect you and your chosen warrior partner. So it is my job to protect you."
"You know my mother?"
"Can you see him?" It was Resh. He was coming towards us.
"Yeah. He was explaining me everything. Join us." I invited him. If he thought inviting to him to join us was rude since I practically barged into his house, he didn't show it. He sat beside me on the floor.
Clearing his throat, the man who now I identified as my seer looked at me. "You ok?"
"Yeah. My eyes sting a bit. Otherwise I am alright." I replied. "It feels like I was blind for a long time and now I can truly see the world."
Resh looked confused for a moment. "Did he made you see him? Is that why were you unconscious?" He asked.
"Yeah. He did. I can see not only him, but the whole dark world. I said with a smile.
I felt kinda overwhelmed.
"Shouldn't you be afraid?" Resh asked.
I was scared. As if I would admit it like a coward. "Why should I?" I asked with a shrug. But something told me that Resh wasn't fooled.
"Will you annoying little brats let me explain?" Seer asked. I nearly forgot he was here. This Resh boy was affecting me in a weird way. I kinda disliked it.
"Please go ahead, Mr. Seer. I want to know everything." I said.
He cleared his throat. "As you both know now, you guys are not humans. My gosh..this is harder than I exept. Where should I start? Oh right. From the very.. very.. begining." He leaned in, so we could see his empty eyes directly. I backed away without a sound, and saw Resh do the same.
"Before a long time ago, a powerful man was born from a stone. He was so strong, just like a stone, or steel. The humans of his era was feared of him, so they set a trap to capture him.
They planned it very carefully. They made a net from bronze. They set a party where he was drugged and then trapped the unconscious man on the net. But after that, they couldn't think of a way to get rid of him. They could kill him, but they believed that he was favoured by god, and they didn't want to anger the heaven."
"So they couldn't come up with a better idea. Soon the drugs were worn off, and stone man was awake. He was so surprised and heartbroken. He was very loyal to humans, but they had betrayed him. Even the girl who was his beloved was nowhere to be seen. He could easily break the bronze threads of the net, but he didn't want to. He was done. He wanted to die. So he just laid there.
A week passed, and humans still didn't have a good idea. On the seventh night, he heared footsteps coming toward him. It was Kaya, his wife. She wanted to rescue him, but he had another idea.
Next day, Kaya informed everyone that she has an idea. She told them that if they threw him over the great cliff, he won't survive, and gods won't be mad because it was a sacred cliff.
Everyone agreed, then they carried him to the cliff. Just before they threw him, he forgave everyone. And then he tore himself from the net, grabbed his wife and threw himself over the cliff."
"Did they die?" Resh asked.
"No, my child. Now we are coming to the best part."
"Hold on." I could feel something coming towards the room. I could feel that it was made by water and some solid stuff. A creacher. He was carrying something hot. Then it hit me.
"Your friend is coming with pizzas." I murmured to Resh. We changed our positions and faced each other. Resh began to laugh, and I too started to laugh. We really had no reason, but this particular reason made us laugh hard.
Door opend, and Dane came with two pizza boxes. I heared Mr. Seer's stomach growl.
Oh. I thought. I will have to steal a slice.
"So," Dane started, stuffing a pizza in his mouth. "Where do you live?"
"Somewhere." I said.
"Come on, tell me. I won't barge into your house."
It wasn't the reason I didn't tell him where I lived. That was my home, and I wanted it to be away from the shadow world. I thought of a good lie, while stealing a piece of pizza and giving it to Mr. Seer.
"I live two blocks away." I said, my voice demanding an end to that conversation.
Dane looked slightly confused, but he let it go.
We finished the rest of pizza without saying much. After that, I and Resh wanted to listen to the story, but it was getting late, and I didn't actually knew the way back. Great, but I knew that I had to go, or otherwise my grandparents would be worried.
So I waved them goodbye and went to find my way back.
I stood there for a moment, trying to remember the way I came. I slowly went through the gate and focused. All I remembered was a blur. I groaned in frustration. I don't know the way back, and I couldn't spend the night with three boys. Regadless of how much I trust them, they were still boys.
"Lost?" Someone said. I jumped, turning, and was taken aback. Mr. Seer was standing beside me.
"Mr. Seer? How?"
"I am a seer, girl. I can appear anywhere I want."
"Oh. Ok." I said. Wow. Only if I can do it too.
"I had a feeling that you don't know the way back. After all, your bond to Resh led you here.
That's why I gave him his ring to activate it."
"His ring?" I asked. Mr. Seer has began to lead the way.
"Yeah. All people of your kind have rings. But I am afraid that you will have to find it yourself. It was hidden by your mom before she died."
So she was dead. My eyes sting a bit. Just a moment ago, I was hoping to see her, but now she was gone. It felt like I lost her twise.
"But why would she hide it?" I asked. It is just a ring with my name.
"When a baby born in Myrah, a ring appears on the peak of the Shellun mountain. But in your case, it was different. Others all got a platimnum ring while you got a water ring.
Literally. Others want their ring to unlock the powers inside them. You didn't, because you were born powerful."
"Oh" was the best I could manage. It felt like a blow. When I found out I wasn't human, I didn't felt anything but joy. Now, to find that I don't belong even with these new people, was too much, it felt like he had slapped me. I quickly shut my emotions, not wanting to be a cry baby.
"We are here." Seer said. "By the way, call me Dasan. It's my name."
I smiled. "Thank you Dasan. For everything. Good night." I said, turning to go to my home.
"Oh, and Glaze?" He called back. I paused. "Don't think about Resh all the time."
I blushed. I turned to give him a piece of my mind, but he was already gone.
