//Chapter 36//

When I woke up, I half expected to see Savin to be gone. He was still lying beside me, tucking me to him. I closed my eyes again, wanting to save this feeling for a little more. My fingers brushed one of his scars. My throat tightened at the feeling of it. My mother had turned insfi stones in to liquid by crushing them with enough pressure, which was her gift. Then she had made them a part of his body. How painful that must have been, I had no idea. "You know," Savin said sleepily, and I opened my eyes to see him half awake, looking at me. "If you continued to poke me like that, none of us will be getting up anytime soon." I withdrew my hand in a flash and sat up, almost losing my balance. He gave me a throaty chuckle. His voice was deeper and somehow even more sexy in the morning. "Good morning." I said, not knowing what else to say. He rolled to his back and stretched his arms. I watched his muscles ripple from the action. "Good morning." He replied. "Something tells me that I am late to my duties and everybody is looking for me right now." "Probably." I said. It was true. The sunlight coming out of my glasslight was brighter. I had slept in, after a long time. "You should get going." "I should." He said, getting up. "Where is my morning kiss?" He looked so innocent and vulnerable, waiting for me to kiss him. I couldn't help but smile. "Don't make this a habit." I said, leaning down and kissing his cheek. He looked pleased with himself. "Only if you promise to kiss me everytime after we get together." I playfully poked his cheek. "I swear, this face will be red from infinite kisses." He grinned. "That's my girl." I also grinned. "Be careful going outside. You spend the night in my room. There will be rumours." He looked like he cared for nothing. "I am the second prince. I can be whatever I want. It's the most peaceful position in the world." "Get the hell out of here." I pushed him towards the door. He grabbed his shirt on the way out. "Div will be here any minute now. You may be the second prince, but I am the new princess here and I have a reputation to uphold. Sleeping with the second prince will not do me any good." His grin deepened. "You should try and see how much good things comes from sleeping with the second prince." I shoved him outside and closed the door behind him. I could hear his laugh through the door. As soon as he left, I sat on the bed, trying not to think about the dreams I had last night. I was in the island again. This time, there was no blood or gore. Everyone was gathered in front of me. Even though I could not see their faces clearly, I was angry with them. They had taken something precious from me. I was shaking, my hands clenched. I could not hold the power from releasing. Two power waves hit everyone. Illusions collapsed into their brains, making them drop all the weapons. Then, they exploded in to pieces. I felt blood dripping down on my body, clothes and skin. I waited for Savin to emerge from behind the trees like usual. But there was no sign of anyone. I couldn't take it anymore, so I went and peeked behind the tree. There was no one. Then I started searching frantically for him. It didn't take me that much time to find out a golden brooch on the floor, still attached to a piece of black clothing. I instinctively knew that it belonged to him. I clutched it and cried, screaming. Someone touched my shoulder. I looked up to see Resh. He just sat there with me, holding me while I cried and cried, sobbing in to the brooch. Well. Getting up and seeing Savin next to me was the only thing that had kept me from screaming in the first place. I had to get away from here. As long as I was here, Savin's life was in danger. I didn't know when or why he fell in love with me. I didn't know when I start to fall for him. Even in that prison, which now felt like a life time away, he had been on my mind, bringing me a smile now and then. Then he had saved me, carried me and taken care of me. At some point, my heart had started to beat for him. I still didn't know so many things about him. What was his power? Favourite food? That would probably be blood, obviously. What was his middle name? How was he when he was little? I was curious. But, in order to protect him, I had to get away from him, as far as I could. A knock came on the door. "Your Highness, it's me." Div's voice came from the door. "Come in." I said. She entered a minute later, with a huge tray of fruits and wine in her hands. I grinned. These would be my lunch and dinner. "Thank you." I said, taking it from her. "You know, the king said he is assigning you a new chef." "A new chef?" I asked, my mouth full. "Why?" "Well, you are training and overworking, and only fruits will not help. He wants you to have a balanced diet." I nodded. "Ah, that makes total sense." "Sorry if I'm being rude. But can't you drink blood like the rest of us?" Div asked, tilting her head to the side. She was always like this. She wanted to know everything. Her eyes were filled with pure curiosity. "I tried it." I said. "But thay didn't work for me." "But the Crown Prince can drink." She said that as a fact, not as a question. "Yeah. He is more Elkelyn than I am. He can drink blood. His magic doesn't work inside Rewen's borders, just like other Elkelyns. I'm different. I can use magic anywhere I want and I prefer fruits and candy just like any other Elves." Something was bothering me about the statement I just said. I felt like I was missing something here. What was that? "The Crown Prince is very brave." Div said, her eyes dreamy. "He took a mission to a place where he is completely powerless, except for combat skills. I don't care what others think. He is the best." I stood up. I had completely forgotten about him not being able to use magic inside Rawen. Such a little, yet important mistake. A mistake that could take his life. "Ask Kahlee to come here, right now." I told Div. "And don't let anyone else know. Specially Savin." "Yes, Your Highness." Div looked puzzled, but she left the room in a hurry as if sensing my urgency. I went to the bathing chambers and washed my face in a hurry. Resh was going to Nave's insfi stone mine. Every little time mattered. I may be too late, even now. I knew what I had to do. I had to go find him.
