"Hey." Savin spoke first, nudging Kylan with his foot. "Get up, sleepy head." Kylan opened his eyes fast and looked at him. Then he jumped back, as if he just saw a ghost. "Second Prince?" "Oh, just call me Savin." He said. Kylan looked at me. "And Sum- Nasha is here too. What are you guys doing here?" Others awoke to our voices. Zone was still sleeping, probably because he was the most hardworking person here. "None of you can use magic in Rawen." I said. "So I came." "And I thought it would be easier to make a tunnel with my help." Resh, who had sat up and was looking at us back and forth, rolled his eyes. "You thought?" Savin grinned. "I thought." I could not with these two. Resh saw my face and smiled. "Okay, now that you are here, we can rest all we want. Actually, you two look like you need a rest too. Why do you guys smell so much?" We sat down as well. Resh introduced me to Relach and Glaze. Both of them seemed nice, but Relach kept looking at me again and again as I explained our journey to them. His gaze was different. It felt like a snake in my body. I sat closer to Savin. Kylan was panicking for a long time after I told them about Kahlee. "Is she okay? He asked for the thirteenth time. "How was she when you guys left?" "Do you want to go and see her?" Savin asked, instead of replying. "I can take you if you want." Kylan put his head on the wall. "No, she would not like it if I go there without completing the mission first." He looked at Zone, who was still sleeping. "I mean, if she really lost her fingers to the mission, she won't want me abandoning it." "Makes sense." Glaze said. "I admire Kahlee and her great skills in hunting. She won't stay down for too long. I'm sure she will be back in her feet in no time." Resh looked at her. Was it my imagination or was there a hint pf admiration in his look? Relach leaned in. "So, your highness, did you kill all those creatures?" "Yeah." I said. "I-" Zone sat down, so I stopped talking. He looked at us, his eyes wide. Then his face broke in to a smile. "Woah! Savin is here! Now I don't have to work my butt off!" It was the most enthusiastic I've ever seen him. I smiled at him. However, I had a big trouble in my head. "Can I talk to Resh and Savin in private?" I asked. All of then looked at me in confusion. I did not bother explaining myself. There was too much in my head. - Savin took us to a room in his maze. It looked identical to the room he offered to us when me and Daniel first came to Elkelyn. The room bought me some good and bad memories and I hesitated a second before entering it. Relach and others watched is go in, curiosity shining in their eyes. I sat down on the bed. Savin hopped on to the table while Resh found himself a chair. I did not know where to start. I had already told Savin the beginning of that memory. For Resh, I decided to describe them in brief. "So, that creature I killed traded me with his memories for an illusion. I'm going to tell you the memory. No, I'm going to dive into the memory and my illusions would show you the memory. Is it okay if I invade your minds?" "You can't with me." Savin said. "Truth to be told, I can." I said. "Let me show you something." He looked puzzled, but nodded. I smiled a bit. Savin was sweating a lot, so he took his shirt off. He was training with a sword. I was in the middle of training the young soldiers to be immune to our magic. I was greatly distracted by that lean body with strong arms. And god, look at those abs. There were some bruised on his body, lathered in a purple looking balm. His oppnent tried to hit those spots, but he easily avoided them. They were practicing some distance away from me, but I could still see his biceps flex with his hand moments. I withdrew the illusion from him, grinning. He looked startled but happy in a way that made his face adorable. "I never knew I looked that sexy." He said, winking. Resh looked like he was trapped between rolling his eyes and getting angry. "Oh, nobody cares about that. Did you do something horrible to my sister?!" "No, no." I quickly corrected him. "I was just admiring him from distance." "This time, the only expression on his face was disgust. "Do me a favor and go ahead with your real illusion, please." I grinned. "Okay." This time, I submitted myself to the memory, letting myself fall. - My mother was not there. She did not come to see me off. A stone came and hit the girl before me, opening a gash in her head. There were tears streaming down in her eyes. I knew those were not there only because of the wound. The king did not open the gates. Instead, the soldiers splashed boiling water into the group beyond. Our party fell backwards. The people infront of us were screaming in pain. The pouring scalding hot water was endless. I gasped as some fell in my head. The water dripped down, burning its way into my eyes. I wiped hard before it could burn my eyes. The people infront of me was not lucky that much. Their faces deformed as those hot water burned and burned, deeper and deeper. Again and again. We ran away from the gate. The watching crowd was not satisfied. They threw stones at us. My head was in pain. I screamed so loud as a sharp stone pierced my burnt flesh. I could not stand straight, but I still ran with others, trying ti save my life. "What did we do wrong?!" Someone screamed. "It's not our fault that we have Angel blood in our veins! We don't drink Elf blood! Why?! Just why?!" He kept screaming 'why?' As we ran. Soon, his screams died, replaced with whimpers of pain. I dared a look at him. His right arm was burned and there were several insfi stones embedded in it. As if insfi stones worked on us. We were chased to the woods. I dared a look at the city I grew in, looking back for a moment. I felt like someone was calling my name. I saw my mom. She was standing on the side of the road. There were several insfi stones in her hands.
