Day 33

DYLAN

I boarded myself in my room as of yesterday one of the new passengers that got on at the port is my mate. I a so damn scared to find her. What happens if she rejects me, or worse of she doesn't I mean do I even want this. Quinn and Jake are so happy but what if I don't get that. I decide I need to get away from the ship for a bit and head down to the water Skis Jo is getting ready to take off and I join her.

We stop our skis and sit in the water

" So what's up Jo?"

" Grimes was attacked by hunters last night"

" Wait what?"

" Where is Beth? Is she okay?"

" She is in her room she won't come out and barricaded herself in there"

" Maybe we should coax her out"

" How?"

" I have an idea, but how are you holding up with the news?"

" Sucky man he was like a father to me and Beth now we will never see him again"

I nod

" I'm sorry JoJo let's head back my plan will help you two"

We start our skis and head back. We get to our hall and Connor is sitting in his doorway waiting.

" Hey Jo how are you and MaryBeth holding up?"

A tear falls from Jo's eye and he hugs her

" I am so sorry, I should have reciprocated the last attack"

" Connor this isn't your fault the Hunters have been growing in numbers for years"

" I know Dylan, but if we don't all band together than this cruise and my ideas and hopes are all pointless."

" You still have almost 5 Months Conner it will be okay"

He nods

" How is she?"

" In her room but we will take care of her"

" Can I do anything?"

" Give me one some stuff to sleep in"

He nods and walks to his room. Jo went back to hers he hands me a bag holding the Clothes.

" Don't loose that it is my favorite shirt"

I nod

" I am sure she will appreciate it I will make sure she returns it"

He smiles

" Thank you Dylan"

This at least keeps my mind off the mate situation. I tell Quinn the plan and Jake goes to the snack bar for us.

I bang on Beth's door until she answers

" What the hell do you want?"

" Sleep over b***h let's go"

" I'm not in the mood Dylan"

" Not even if your wearing this?"

She pulls it out of the bag

" This is his favorite how did you get this?"

" He is letting you borrow it for comfort"

She shows a weak smile

" Um thank you"

I nod and she puts the clothes on and joins us in the living room. We start playing Sorry and then cards we drink wine and jump on the couches Quinn's Idea then at the end of the night Jake came in and we all fell asleep in the living room as a family. Broken and messed up as we are these are people I will cherish forever. When my mate catches up to me I hope she can understand that.
