The Rogue's Birth Right

Episode 3

Sitting in the tree I could see the five wolf's who had surrounded me growling and howling but not one of them jumped after me, this amused me. Shouting “YOU WANT TO CATCH ME YOU NEED TO FIND ME AGAIN LITTLE DOGS” more snarling, growling and howling reached me ears. Standing up on the thick branch I got dressed, sitting back down I let my aches and pains get the better of me as my breathing got heavier. Sitting on the branch for what seemed like minutes but it was a good 2 hours, gathering my strength to stand up I started climbing down the tree to the bottom of the forest.

Before I reached the roots, I heard a loud growl that could send chills down anyone’s spine, I froze on one of the branches as I heard “GO AND FIND THAT b***h” a unison of “YES SIR” came back as I sat in the tree waiting for them to leave so I could make a move again. Through a small gab in the leaves I saw two tall men talking to each other I couldn’t tell who was saying what but thanks to my super hearing I could make out what they were saying “we need to find her, we need to know what she knows”, “I know but we need her alive, she’s the last of her kind” a low growl came from one of the men.

Sitting in the tree I heard “Sir we couldn’t find her” the deeper voice grunted out “useless mongrels” I cringed at the way he said that. I’m really not liking these people who seem to be after me for some reasons which are unknown to me “KEEP LOOKING SHE HAS TO BE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE” he yelled back. Leaning against the tree I was going to have to wait till they left which if they are as desperate as they seem it won’t be anytime soon, I listen to all of the men rustling around trying to find little old me who was hiding near enough right above their noses, what idiots.

I climbed higher into the tree that I was now stuck in; I had a look to see if I could jump from one to the other and make it far enough away from them so I could shift and run again. Finding a branch that I could jump onto so I could get onto another tree, I continued to jump from branch to branch making it further away from the group of men searching for me. Staying in the tree I stripped down placing my clothes into my bag I was still carrying, we shifted again as I apologised to Silver for the constant shifting at the moment, she grunted but stayed calm “it’s not like you can help it just get away from these plonkers” I laughed at the name she had for the group.

We crouched down on the branch listening to see if there was any threat so far, when we couldn’t hear anything apart from birds we pounced out of the tree. Landing on all four of our paws we started sprinting toward Auckland to get out of New Zealand. Nightfall came and we started to get tired, we found a cliff. We shifted and started to climb until we found a cave out of sight, we could rest peacefully until morning came. We fell asleep easily as all day we had been running away from a group of predators, nothing woke us up this time it was half way through the day and we were starving “Brina we need food” my stomach growled as if agreeing with Silver “I know”.

Climbing back down the cliff, being more aware of our surroundings we started running in human form to give Sliver a break from it. We came to a halt as we heard rustling in the trees, climbing a tree we hid out of sight but left a gap in the trees so we could see whoever it was. A deer jumped out of a bush as he stopped and looked around its surrounding, “Dinner” I cringed at the thought of killing an animal shaking my head Silver started to push forward “let me take over, you wont have to do it, I will” sighing I let her take over and without even know I couldn't see, feel or smell anything that was happening around us.

About 2 hours went by before Silver let me see and sense anything that had happened, "have you had your fun and fill now?" Silver chuckled "we both needed it, don't act like it was just for me" I sighed as i gained control back "I know, I’m sorry thank you for that". Silver was silent for a while "what's wrong?" She laughed "nothing its just rare you say sorry and thank you in the same sentence I was enjoying the moment" rolling my eyes at her "you can be a b***h some times" there was no answer, everything was silent until Silver spat "run fast, they're here" I froze when a rustle came to my hearing I ran as fast as my legs would take me.

We ran in human form until the wolf's started to surround me, huffing i jumped into the air shifting into Silver's form as we took off like the wind leaving dust behind us. Our speed seemed to pick up, dodging tree trunks, roots and branches we managed to make it to the outskirts of Auckland. We shifted which surprised us that our clothes were still on our body, normally they get shredded but not this time. Shrugging it off we started to walk into town hoping to find the airport, "where to next silver?" Silver was quiet thinking about the answer "back home, we have led them here maybe we could go home and they wouldn't even think that was a possibility" putting thought into it "Silver we shouldn't it's not safe"

Sliver started to whimper at my answer "Silver come on you know it makes sense" whimpering again "I know but I feel like we have to be there, Something is pulling me there". Sighing I agreed with her "your going to get us killed at one point” she started to chuckle as she said "I will always be here to protect you" rolling my eyes we made our way back to the U.S. Another long flight back to where we originally came from, we landed back in the U.S. New York. Walking out if the airport I looked at the map provided "where to?" Waiting for an answer "close your eyes and point" frowning "what? You said you were pulled here can you not tell were to?".

She huffed "no I can’t so close your eyes and point" doing as Silver had said, opening my eyes "somewhere called Gloversville" Silver howled in excitement "okay calm down geez" I walked over to a cab "to the closest car hire please?" The cab driver nodded as he started to drive us. Paying the man, I made my way into the office "can we help you mam?" I looked up "Brina and yes you can I need a car for a couple of weeks maybe months" they laughed at me "what?" "you might as well buy one" I nodded over to them "okay then do you have one for sale?".
