Liliana's Innocence

Chapter 9

I move my lips against his trying to catch up with his place, this is all new to me. After a few seconds we pull away from each other. I look up at him wide eyed while placing my fingers on my lips. 

"W-why did you d-do that?", I ask.

"Cause you were sitting there looking all pretty.", he replies casually and throws his arm over my shoulder. My mouth is still open in shock. He just grabs the remote presses play.

I sniffle as tears run down my cheeks. Axel looks down at me, "What's wrong?" 

I stuff my head in his shoulder and cry even more. He rubs his hand along my back soothingly.

"What's wrong Lily? Why are you crying?", Axel asks with worry.

"F-flynns g-gonna dye! T-the m-mean lady k-idnaped h-him!", my voice is muffled by his shirt

I can feel his chest vibrate like he's laughing.

What's so funny! Was he not paying attention? This is a serious crisis man!

Once we finished the movie Axel said we could watch one more than he was gonna drop me off at home. Since I got to pick the last one he picked the next one which was some weird car movie that I wasn't paying attention to. That's what he gets for not listening to my movie.

I let out a big yawn and stretch as Axel got up to turn the lights up. I groaned and covered my eyes from the bright lights. 

"Okay let's drop you off at home.", he says. I whine not wanting to get up.

 I lift my arms up, "Carry me.", he sighs and mumbles something about me being so lazy. He comes over and lifts me up onto his back. I squeal and giggle when I see how high I am.

"Now go get my shoes!", I shout by his ear.

"Ow! Geez women since when did you get so bossy.", he says

"Shoes now!"

"Okay okay!".

Axel first grabs his keys from the kitchen counter than head to the front door where I put my shoes. He bends down and picks them up, sliping them on my feet. "Thank you!", I say.

"Your feet are tiny, what size are you?"

"I don't know four or five.", I say, I never payed attention to my shoe size.

"You are tiny.", he whisper

"Be quiet and get to the car mister.", I huff and point towards the door.

Right before I leave his car he gives me a kiss on the cheek and says that he'll pick me up. I thank him while blushing and close the car door behind me.

Once I get inside I sigh and lean against the door. What an amazing day, well besides the hospital part. I wince trying to forget it. But than the dream pops up in my head. What did it mean?

"Was that Axel?", I scream and jump. I place my hand on my chest.

"Can you not Maddox! You're gonna kill me.", I say.

"Well was it?", I nod 

"What did you guys do?", he asks.

"We just watched a few movies and ate some snacks.", I responded.

"Is that it?". He asks again,  narrowing his eyes at me.

"U-uh ya it is.", my red cheeks say other wise.

"Did he kiss you?", he says. I gasp and hit his chest.

"Maddox!". He puts his hand up in surrender and moves out of the way.

I roll my eyes, older brothers.

I hear a knock on my door as I slowly sit up in bed, "Ya?", my sleepy voice asks

"Axel is here hurry up!", Maddox says. I quickly get up to go get ready. I grab a pair of high waisted, light blue denim shorts. For my top I pull out a bright yellow polo and tuck the front in a bit. I matched it with a small bird necklace Maddox got me for my thirteenth birthday.

"You're gonna be late come out!", Maddox screams once again.

"Coming!", I scream back. I grab my bag and swing it over my shoulder and head down stairs.

I see Maddy and Axel sitting at the counter, I kiss them both on the cheek and grab a banana from Maddox's hand. "Hey what was that for.", he whines

"Make yourself a real breakfast today since you don't have a first period today.", I quickly munch on the banana than toss the peel in compost.

I grab Axel's hand and pull him towards the door. "Come on l-lets go!".

"Okay miss bossy.", he chuckles.

"W-well I'm sorry I don't want to be late!", I huff.

Once we get outside the door, I look in the driveway but I don't see his truck. I see a black motorcycle. That's gonna be a hard no for me! I hate them! Axel let's go of my hand and climbs in it adjusting his gloves. 

"Are you gonna get on or what?", Axel says.

I just shake my head and cross my arms over my chest.

"I am not getting on that death machine!", I shout.

Axel just sighs, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way you pick."

Again I just shake my head, I prefer to live past today. "Liliana, I'm warning you.", I don't look at him. I close my eyes and put my fingers in my ears.

"Lalalalala I can't hear you!". Nothing else happens.

After a few seconds I open my eyes to Axel right in front of me. I squeal and try to run, but he grabs my waist and throws me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Put me down!", I pound my little fist on his back. Of course he just laughs and plops me down on the bike.

I look up at him and pout. He kisses it and puts a helmet on my head. Axel sits in front of me and turns the bike on.

"You might want to hold on baby", is the last thing he says. Then he starts the motorcycle and drives away.

I scream and wrap my arms around his waist. I screw my eyes shut. I feel his back vibrate. Of course he finds my pain amusing.

After Axel stops the bike, I climb off and stomp into school. Ignoring his calls. I didn't get far as Axel grabs my hand and spins me around to face me.

"Why are you mad?", he asks gently. Great now he's making me feel bad!

"I'm not, j-just cold! Ya cold.", I say making up an excuse.

"Mhm sure, if you're cold you can take my jacket.", he slips his leather jacket on and puts it around me. Of course it says his last name on it.

"You're lucky I like you.", I mumble before slipping my arms through it. He kisses my head and takes my hand.

A few feet before the door, Axel stops moving.

I look up at him about to ask why he stopped.

"I have to go to the bathroom, why don't you find us seats, yeah?", I nod my head and let go of his hand. Walking the rest of the way to 1st period.

There were students scattered everywhere, some in small groups talking about their night. Some trying to finish homework and sharing answers. Overall it just looked like a normal classroom before school actually begins.

I scan the room to see if there are any open seats and spot a few in the back. I grip my bag and head towards them. I drop my bag on the seat next to mine to save it for Axel. I pull out my notes from last class since we're aren't done with them. Some sits in the seat to the right, I look over and see Tyler. Oh I remember him.

I give him a soft smile, my way of saying hello.

"Good morning!", Tyler says with to much enthusiasm for a Friday morning.

"Morning! How are you adjusting to the school?", I ask

"Ya it's going pretty well actually! I've made a few friends too."

"Any problems?

"No, well unless you count that your brother is kinda giving me a hard time.", I was taken back by this. I don't even think Maddox knows who Tyler is.

"Wait, Maddox is?", I question.

"No silly Axel." He says. I just laugh.

"Axel isn't my brother he's m-", I stop myself not really knowing what we are.

Just as I'm about to continue, Tyler says something. "Who's jacket is that? It looks a little big on you.", random question but okay I guess.

"O-oh its um Axel's.", I say looking towards the door hoping Axel will come because this is getting. Luck is on my side today as he walks and looks around for me. 

I wave my hand in the air so it's easier for him to spot me. My hand catches his gaze as a small smile appears on his face. It falls when he looks to my right and spots Tyler. 

Geez what do the two have against each other. He makes his way over with a grumpy look on his face. All three of us sit in awkward silence for a few minutes then Tyler starts talking.

"So uh Liliana did you finish the homework last night?"

"No I couldn't get to it.", I say, geez how more awkward can this get.

"Oh, well I-", he was cut off by Axel. 

"Do you ever shut up?", he says coldly. I gasp and swat his hand. Oh my gosh I feel like a mom scolding her child.

"Axel stop!", I yell at him. He just huffs and crosses his arms like a two year old. For the rest of the school I ignored Axel. Ya I know its very petty of me, but if he wants to act like that then so be it.

After first I got up as quick as I could and scurried to second, good thing I didn't have it with him. He tried to walk me to every class but I just looked the other way and kept walking. During lunch I sat down right next to Maddox ignoring Axel's calls and his leg kicking mine underneath the table. When Maddox asked what was wrong, I whispered into his ear what happened. He said I was being overdramatic. I just huffed.

Right now it's after school and Axel is basically on his knees begging me to talk to him.

"Liliana please!", he says for the 16th time. I give in once I see his cute puppy eyes.

"Okay fine! But you have to get me ice cream.", I say. Axel lets out a long sigh.

"Deal lets go.", he grabs my hand and leads me to the motorcycle.
