Chapter3

"What are you doing in my room, miss?" The man looked at Nora's messy state. Tangled hair, partially torn clothes. And the blood on Nora's palm. Nora was speechless for a moment. Her body was trembling. She was shocked and scared. She had just escaped Eliza's cruelty, and now she didn't know if she was safe or if she was entering a new chapter of evil. The man looked agitated. Of course, he was uncomfortable. But he was also curious. Why was there a woman who was so messed up in this luxurious hotel? Nora felt scared when the man approached her and looked at her questioningly. Nora didn't want anything bad to happen to her again. So she tried to calm herself down. Nora caught her breath. She tried to be strong enough to face her fear. "I'm sorry. I was chased by people who wanted to make me a prostitute. I just wanted to go to the hospital, but suddenly, I woke up in one of the hotel rooms. I wanted to run away, but I was afraid of failing, so I was there hoping to find a safe place until that woman stopped chasing me. Please don't tell her." Nora cupped her hands together. She was crying again. "I'm Brandon. I don't know what happened. But I'm not comfortable with you being here. I have an appointment with someone who will be here soon, so I don't know if I can help you. I'll call the hotel staff. This is none of my business; you should contact the police." Nora shook her head quickly. "Report the police? That seems like a bad thing. Eliza threatened me and my mother. Please, can you take me out? At least take me to the hospital. My mom is in danger. Eliza will definitely use it as a threat to get me to go back to her." Brandon let out a long breath. He pulled away, took a few steps back, and sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm not a nice person. I don't want to bother meddling in your affairs. I'd rather you leave here than have to ask for my help." Nora walked over to Brandon and knelt in front of him. "I've never done this. But please, just this once, help me. I promise I'll repay you and do whatever it takes to express my gratitude." Brandon looked at Nora with one eyebrow raised. He opened his mouth to speak, but the sound of the doorbell stopped him. Nora felt scared. She thought it was Eliza. She must have been found out. Brandon got up and headed for the door. "Please don't tell me I was here." Brandon didn't reply to Nora's words. He opened the door, and a woman was behind it. "What are you doing here?" the woman asked in a high tone. Brandon looked surprised. "I should be the one asking, Why are you suddenly here?" Nora stood behind the door. She sighed because it wasn't Eliza's voice. "Who told you I was here? Please don't come in front of me again, Emma. We don't have a relationship anymore!" Brandon said in a low, cold tone. "I will not stop defending our relationship. I've sacrificed my career and youth to become your wife in a few months. Why are you throwing me away?" Emma forced her way in. "I will definitely find evidence that you have been playing with fire behind my back!" Brandon tried to block Emma, but he failed as Emma had already entered and quickly found Nora cowering behind the door. "Who is this woman?! Are you really having an affair?" Emma's tone of voice rose. She glared at Nora. "That's none of your business! You've already been proven to have an affair, so don't feign innocence and blame me for accusations that have no proof." "Then who is she? Why can't you explain? Are you so desperate that you hired a prostitute to use as an instrument of revenge against me? You haven't proven your accusations either." Emma looked at Nora. "You like violent s*x? Do you love it? You b***h!" "Watch your words!" Nora couldn't stand Emma's insults. "She has nothing to do with our problems. She's just a poor woman who's in danger," Brandon said. He then walked to the nightstand and used the phone. Then he called the hotel staff. Nora was terrified and decided to leave the room before Brandon finished his report. Emma wanted to go after Nora but was held back by Brandon. "Don't you dare touch her! Don't ever appear in front of me again! I'm sick of you, Emma!" Brandon quickly left the room. For some reason, his mind was on Nora, who hurriedly ran away from him. Nora was still afraid, but she was more afraid of Eliza finding her again. So, she chose to leave the hotel on her own. It was better for her to walk in a crowded place so that Eliza couldn't catch her carelessly. Nora entered the open elevator. She didn't know what to say at the moment. She only had Nancy's safety on her mind. But the door was stopped when someone's hand entered. It turned out to be Brandon. "What's going on?" Nora asked. Panicking. "Your girlfriend will catch up, then she'll make a scene, and I'll be the center of attention. I'm not going to ask for help. I'm going to do it myself!" "You won't survive if you go alone. She'll be waiting for you in the basement or lobby. She'll catch you, even if you're out in the open! Trust me, Nora." "Why do you care about me now? Didn't you want to interfere?" "I don't know. But my heart says to protect you. Then I'll do it just once. Use my suit. You look really messed up." Brandon took off his suit and helped Nora put it on. "Where's the hospital?" "The hospital is near the city center," Nora replied and gave the address details. They reached the lobby. Brandon pulled Nora to a quieter place. Brandon called someone. "Pick me up in the lobby. I have to drop someone off!" While Nora and Brandon were waiting to be picked up, A bald man wearing all black took pictures of Nora and Brandon, sent them to someone, and left the lobby in a hurry.
