^Loras point of view^
Lora woke up the next morning with the sun high in the sky, she hasn’t slept that long for almost two years, so she felt a little weird being so late. Not that it was daytime Lora could have a good look at the cabin she spent her night in. The cabin seemed to be in a good shape even though no one has stepped foot into her for quite some time, that’s what Lora was thinking while looking at all the spider webs in the cabin.
‘This place is quite nice, but I can’t stay here, it’s way too obvious for a person to be living here, I should get moving again’ Lora said to herself and started packing her stuff back into the backpack.
Once she was done packing, she stepped out of the cabin and she was greeted with an amazing view that she didn’t notice yesterday when she arrived, the cabin stood just at the entrance of the forest and from it, Lora saw big open fields and what seem to be contours of a town. Lora turned around and had one final look at the cabin, it was a single-floor cabin, with a terrace on its side, which looked to be perfect for morning coffee in Lora’s eyes. ‘Well, I should get going, this place would be a perfect home for us if this world would be different, but not right now’ Lora closed her eyes took a deep breath and started to walk away.
Lora decided to stay in the outskirts of the forest for her safety, since this way she would be less noticeable and after what happened last day being seen was the last thing that she wanted. After a couple of hours of walking, Lora started to get a better view of the small town that she visited multiple times before the world crumbled. For her, this town always felt strange since it was divided into two separate parts by the highway, and the only things that were connecting them were three bridges, one for cars, and two for people. She knew the town's layout well enough, so she felt good on entering the outskirts of it to look for some food or clothes. She needed both since she left everything in her camp so Lora had no choice but to go in and hope that she will get lucky.
Once she was next to the first houses of the town Lora felt a rush of memories that were sleeping for so long coming to her, she spent quite a few days here with her friends and certain parts of the town had beautiful and fun moments, that she thought she would never forget. But now there was not a living soul around, everything was abandoned, and she saw bodies everywhere. For a second Lora felt like she will throw up, but then she just walked on, this was the reality of the current world, and she knew that she would survive if not for herself, but for Rin, he managed to push her to live again, and she was determined to live as long and brave as she could.
After looking around for a bit Lora decided to check out a modern-looking two stories house, that had a fence around its whole yard. She opened a small green gate and went in, after making sure that it was safe, she went towards the main entrance, which was luckily not locked. Lora slowly opened the outside door and walked inside. Once inside she was greeted with a huge mirror closet that was half closed and Lora could easily see some clothes inside of it. On the right of it was the kitchen, so still being careful she went towards it and started to check every shelf for anything that still would be good to eat. To her surprise, she managed to find some coffee, that was still closed and something that looked like canned fruits of some sort, but she couldn’t understand what exactly it was since the label was almost thorn off the can.
Lora knew very well that if this can still be edible it will give her enough energy for a day or two, so she felt extremely happy about this find, but she knew that she needs to find more useful things if she wanted to leave this town and get back to safety. One of those things was a knife, she only had a small pocket knife, and she needed something bigger in case she managed to hunt something or in the worst case protect herself and kill someone ‘Kill someone’ Lora said quietly, it was the very first time she thought about it and scared her so much that she just felt down on her knees, she remembered the sight of blood in her camp, someone probably died there and it was all her fault, she had to be more careful.
Lora probably would have stayed there for hours just blaming herself, but she was pulled back to real-world in an instant because she heard something that she heard the same day when she met Rin, it was one of those creatures that used to be human long ago, and it stood right in front of her. For a second Lora froze, but then she jumped up and grabbed a chair, prepared to fight for her life. At the same time creature lunged towards her, and Lora had to use all her strength to stop the creature and push it back. Luckily for her creature tumbled down on the ground and without a doubt, Lora hit the creature’s head with the chair to kill it.
Lora was shaking, she was both scared and overwhelmed with adrenaline, but all she wanted was to leave this house and get to safety, so without turning back she started to go towards the exit, but then she left something grabbing her foot, Lora turned back and saw that the creature was still alive and was about to bite her foot, but in an instant, Lora felt a massive amount of anger inside of her, and with a scream, she stomped creatures head with her free leg finally killing it. ‘I am not afraid of you anymore’ Lora screamed and with that, she ran away from the house.
She stopped running once she was back in the forest, she fell with a smile on her face, she was still alive and now she felt even stronger than before.
