Project Schemer: Higeki's chapter: Requiem

Arc 3 - Chapter 3: Grand reveal.

"They asked you, what will you do to take down a god or to serve him. The head engineer was greedy but i know what i want, his action made him one of the city leaders but i want something more. That is the reason for my retirement and before that, i stole the blueprint thought it would fetch a good price in the black market."

"And why don't you sell it ?"

"Everything will be useful in the future, we lived in a world of ruin afterall, everything will be useful in the future. But i never regret about my life currently, i never want to live a life in that city because right here and right now, i have my family."

"You let that life go, and with that you found yourself a new life, in poverty but filled with joy. but do you regret ?"

"Regret ? I do regret that i didn't finish everything that i started, i do appreciate the perfection and that is destruction, i should plant a bomb in that wall before i left. So when the moment is right, i can blow it to thousand of pieces."

"Thank you so much father, for telling us everything even your fear can stop you from saying anything."

"It is my responsibility as your father. You deserve to know everything and i am tired of hiding all these secret for far too long."

Next we look at the blueprint, the structure of the wall is strange, there are a lot of mark and four towers, why would you need towers for a simple wall. Four towers, maybe they held some secret but since we want to demolish that wall then we should be careful since those towers could be some kind of defense mechanic. The towers are called pillars of perfection, they are designed by the Conductor himself as a symbol to represent his view on the world. In his eyes, anything beyond the wall is irrelevant, his empire, his world inside the world, a colorless world and as long as those live inside that wall accept the fact that they must show the conductor they are perfect emotionless creatures. Everything is colorless and emotionless, that is his first step for his vision of perfection. We didn't know everything but a person like him exist make my blood boil.

"These pillars, they are designed not just for show, they have some purposes, maybe some kind of storages or..."

"Laboratory... these sectors are dedicated to perform experiments. I would say this is normal in the city even when i was working for them, the Conductor always watch everyone and the moment they slipped, they became subject for experiment."

"Life in the city... it is so perfect that it is deadly."

"That pair of researchers should know that and they even trained themselves as skilled assassins to prevent themselves ended in tragedy."

A perfect life require a lot of sacrifice and a perfect manner to maintain that life, the stress of perfection and until everything is glass, they break under unbearable pressure. Everything shatter under pressure and the nightmare begin, so those worker, that is what happened to them after every concentration camp finished. The mind of the Conductor, anything else exist in that mind or it is nothing but a destructive desire for perfection, a man like that exist among us. What is truly exist in his heart, what is the purpose of these experiments ? And most important question, these towers are finished when grandfather was young then how many experiements did these towers performed.

"Are you alright ?"

"It's easy to understand, anyone would feel sick thinking about those tower."

"But what about security ? The Conductor doesn't care about that ?"

"He doesn't need to care about security, he is the person who wanted perfection even in arrangement."

"What are you doing Tomoe ?"

"Well, i don't want my blessed child fall under the weight of sins. Not like Higeki, your war isn't the war to defend a world but a war to defeat your enemies and take back what is your. And this war, you will need more than one therapy."

The therapy from a god is better than most methods in this dying world, no side effect no trauma, almost feel like i am purified. The whole session i see nothing but blue, i feel myself falling but not drowning, there is something embrace me, something prevent me from drowning or falling too fast. I see countless reflection but they slowly fade away and then i see a meadow, i hear a song and then i see a child maybe fifteen years old playing an instrument. His face and his emotion, it is almost emotionless but seeing it again, he is so calm, he doesn't look at me but something inside me remind me that i shouldn't annoy him or interrupt his melody. The surrounding change as his song changed, the reflection on the lake change into a beautiful painting, the moon shine bright and standing beside him is Tomoe. 

"I feel much better now, but that scene and that boy, is that the first Higeki."

"I should tell you more, the person you see is the first Higeki, i don't know how many replicas did this world created based on him or based on you. But you must be ready to finish them off even if they are your brothers."

"It is much easier to said."

"I believe you can, you are his creation, his child and my chosen champion, you can call him, call for the help of your creator, ask him to help you, to guide your blades."

"But is the Higeki in your memories remain the same ? Last encounter, do you remember, he went berserk and slaughtered all of them."

"And i believe in you, his creation, his child, his son, you can calm him and maybe you can do more than that. Maybe you can erase the hatred reside inside him."

The god of music also the god of water, do you hate the Conductor ? What is your true intention my creator ? But your song, i can feel me a lot about you, but now, i will need to focus. Another wave from the city, the Conductor increase the threat level of haven toward the city so this time there are a lot of soldier and vehicles. The battle mark the first time that Tau and Chi participate in this war, Epsilon is injured and right before the axe can land on her, it is block by a giant shield. Tau doesn't need to carry the shield, it float and follow his command the same applied to Chi's weapon. Both of them are genius in their own field, both of them share the knowledge of telekinetic and application of telekinetic in mass producing weapon. 

"Epsilon, are you alright ? Go to Higeki we will take over."

"Alright, Mu, assist Tau and Chi."

"Got that, you should go and treat that wound."

Epsilon's wound isn't deep but sterilize the wound is a must. Lambda's army shift their behaviour, the faries change their weapon and their behaviour can be described as suicidal. Inside each fairy is that poison that we once used that can growth fungus but enhanced so it can penetrate most of clothing. Only those already drink the antidote and vaccinate can immune to the fungus. The vehicles and the soldiers from the city are no joke, the development speed of the city is surprisingly fast, this time their attack damaged a small part of the wall around the haven. But with this speed of development we can't remain in defensive state, that four towers, and we have to launch our first attack on the city. 

"How is everyone Higeki ?"

"Their wounds aren't severe and we are lucky that Tau and Chi arrived at the right time or we could lose Epsilon."

"I was so careless."

"Don't worry Epsilon and doctor, can you check on the tribe, they fought valiantly in that battle and they will require a lot more attention than anyone else."

"Alright, i also need to discuss with Alfred and Lambda about the wall."

So i left Tau, Chi, Mu and Epsilon in the tent and after checking, sterilize and wrapping the wound for every single members of the tribe, i go to the underground base. And the moment i arrived, everyone is there except for chieftain Da'Mok because of his wound so he will arrived a little later than usual since father is carrying him. And the moment chieftain Da'Mok and father arrive, the heated discussion begin, the meeting start with the list of casualty and damage. At least there isn't any casualty in this battle since everyone is prepared for the worst, Lambda improve the efficiency of the shield with telekinetic that Tau and Chi prove. The damaged wall is fixed but with that attack it prove the fact that the wall still need improvement, with the new resreach in tenekinetic we can improve our defensive factor. For offensive, we still need to improve the efficiency of the melee weapon and we decided to improve them with the poison that Alfred and Alermond are developing.

"Now to the next point in the discussion. Higeki and I, we are agreed to launch our first attack on the city. With the damage on the wall, the city are accelerate their research speed to level the haven, and defense is no longer a valid option."

"Their weapon are stronger now, waiting is no longer an option since the city attack earlier than we expected."

"We elder also agree, we can't let them develop further or it will be the end of this war."

"After what you did for our tribe, we will volunteer to be the vanguard for this battle."

"That won't be necessary chieftain. This is not the battle that we need to prepare to die because that is no time for that."

"I guess that should mark our appearance, this is a serious war afterall."

From the elevator that connect to the underground two boys slowly appear, one of them have black hair with a monocle, his name is Sigma and he is responsible for task allocation for everyone in the haven. He can judge someone and see their talent and makes suggestion for a suitable job for that person, he rarely speak during any meeting and it seem like his true purpose is revealed. The other boy have long white hair that can be mistake for a girl, his iris are blue with the image of countless star glowing inside. A gentle person bow before everyone and his presentation shook me to the core.

"Thank you everyone, because of the war and because of the true nature of the leader of the city i need to appear to join in this battle. I am Omega of the Savant."
