SHE CAN STAY

1102 Words
"You are back? you came back so fast today" he remarked as he moved closer to see that he brought home so many games "We will have to sell them, you brought many today" he said checking them out "We still have to talk you know" Adahy said with a chilly voice and Ahiga slowly stood up to listen to what he has to say "didn't you agree for her to stay in the morning? what are we talking about again?" he asked slowly scratching his head "I never said she will stay but as I went to the forest this morning, I kept thinking about what would happen if we send her back to her previous master, we don't know what will happen to her like you have said, we can just keep her till we solve the issue with the governor, I will make sure she gets the justice she deserves" Adahy explained while they both listened with rapt attention "so the end point of what you are trying to say is she will be staying with us till you solve the issue right?" he asked with his eyes lit up in happiness "Yes, that's what I'm saying you dumb guy" Adahy responded gritting his teeth and Ahiga flew himself around his neck in happiness "Thank you so much, thank you for making her stay here even if it's for a moment, I pray we have a good solution" Ahiga said and Adahy pushed him away "stop rubbing yourself on me, it's disgusting" Adahy said rolling his eyes "Doesn't mean" he smiled before jumping back on him again before their moments was cut short with a small tiny voice "Thank you for making me stay and planning to help me out, I will not forget this moment" Shael slowly said and Adahy coughed before nodding his head "We should head to the market and sell these things off" Adahy informed Ahiga and they both stood up to go immediately "You can just stay inside, we will be back soon. You can sleep or just read the books on the shelves" Ahiga said to her "Okay thank you" she replied and turned to go inside the house while the men left for the market By the time they came back, she was already snoring with the book she was reading on her chest. Ahiga came in to check up on her and saw her sleeping carelessly "She sure sleeps a lot" he commented and proceeded to cover her up and removed the book from her hand. *** The governor's son came back home and noticed that Shael was not around when he knocked hard on the door several times and didn't get a reply, he stood up and went to knock on her room instead, still he got no reply. He turned to the maids walking by and stopped them to ask of her whereabouts "Where is Shael? I haven't seen her all day" he asked and they both wore a confused look immediately "Shael? didn't you send for her yourself? you sent someone over and asked for her to meet you at the mountain side" one of the managed to respond "I did? I never did something of such, I didn't send anyone to call her for me, I went out with my father and I'm just coming back with me, why would I tell her to come to the mountain?" he asked raising his eyebrows "We can't say anything about that because the message was delivered by one of the messengers, we don't know what could be wrong" they replied innocently "Do you know the messenger that came to deliver the message?" he asked raising his voice "Yes, I know him" the head maid stated from the back and everyone turned to look at her "You know him you say?" he asked to confirm once more "Yes young master, I know him well" she confirmed "Summon him here right now" he yelled and they all shuddered in fear "I will send for him now" the head maid replied gently and left his presence "Whoever is behind this will pay if anything happens to her" he fumed and walked off from the front of her door The head maid sent some maids to call the messenger and in no time, he was brought to the young master's presence where he was sitting and waiting angrily "You sent for me young master" he said bowing a little in respect "Yes, I did. you were the one that came to deliver a message to this house?" he asked and the man answered with immediate effect "Yes, my Lord" he confirmed "Good! who sent you the message?" he asked turning his ear as if to hear his response properly "the message was sent by Young Master Reo and young master Travis" he replied and his eyes grew saucers "What do you mean by Reo and Travis? why will they send that type of message to Shael?" he asked hitting the table hard "That I do not know why my Lord, I am just a messenger who came to deliver what he has been sent" the man responded politely and he rose up in fury "This better not be what I am thinking because I will make sure I shred them to pieces" he fumed as he stomped out of the house "why do I have a negative feeling that this will not end well?" one of the maids muttered to the head maid "You are not the only one, I feel like there is a tragedy looming" she sighed as he watched him go "Is that why the sky has been dark and cloudy throughout today? this lady is just pure bad luck" another maid remarked and the head maid turned to her immediately "Do you think that's what you should say in this kind of situation?" she lashed at her "what did I say wrong? bad things kept happening ever since she came" the maid said defending herself "I told you one of the rules of this house is to never wish bad on others, it seems you are only having bad thoughts because you are idle, you will be the one to scrub the whole house for a week!" the head maid instructed and her eyes grew saucers "Only me?" she asked pointing to her chest "Yes! only you. you will scrub till you get that thought out of your head" the head maid replied and left the scene while the maid ran after her to apologise for what she said.
