The sun is shining when I awaken the second time. I automatically reach out for Riley. Only to come up empty handed. Sitting up on bed, l groggily rub my eyes. Taking in my surroundings. But, the room is empty.
Deciding to grab a quick shower before I head down. It was already nine. I never slept this late. I can't help but think about how strangely Riley was acting last night. Whatever It was had really gotten her worked up. I wonder if she even slept after that?
After my shower, I get dressed and head downstairs to join my family, who was hopefully still in the process of eating breakfast. I was on the verge of starving to death.
I follow my nose to the ground floor. Doing a little mental victory dance when I see the stack of pancakes and bacon sitting on the kitchen island
