Claire looks at the mirror in her room. She looks beautiful, her long black hair in waves up to her waist while wearing a dazzling gold sequined sleeveless mermaid dress with matching gold strappy heels. Her makeup was flawless with a very natural brown tint and bronze highlight which made her honey-colored eyes look almost gold. To top it all off, she put on her diamond studded necklace with a matching earrings which was her mother's that completed her look. This should be the happiest day of her life, but she felt that something was not right. Today was her 21st birthday and she was to mark and mate Seth at the stroke of midnight when the blue moon is at its highest peak. You see, Claire was the daughter and only child of the late King Cladius. Being the only heir to the throne, by right she should have been coronated as soon as her father passed away one month ago due to an unknown illness. Unfortunately, she was not allowed to ascend the throne due to certain technicalities. Claire was actually a half breed. Her mother was part human and part face, whereas her father was a pure-blooded alpha. When her father identified her mother as his mate, he didn't think twice about marrying her. Being the King of the werewolf's realm had its perks after all. The problem arose when her mother passed away due to a rogue attack when Claire was still a baby. King Cladius became extremely protective over Claire, not allowing her to leave the safety of her kingdom. She was a very intelligent child, always scoring top in her class and being the envy of many shewolves out there due to the attraction that males had towards her. She was never interested in being in a relationship though, as she felt her time would be better used in further improving her skills as she would be the next ruler of the werewolves kingdom. Unfortunately, during her 18th birthday when all shewolves were blessed by the moon goddess and given their wolf, she did not receive one. Needless to say, King Claudius was beyond upset about it. He called upon the seer who lives deep in the Black Forest to uncover the reason behind this. The seer named Apollita, spoke of a powerful wolf who lives deep within Claire that can only awaken when she has found her true mate that has been fated by the moon goddess. There is however, an obstacle standing in her way. Claire will not be able to sense who her true mate is until she has been marked by him. If she is marked by the wrong wolf, she will not be able to gain her wolf and will have to live her life as a mere mortal. If she makes the right choice and awakens her wolf, she will be blessed with great power that will help her kingdom to flourish. King Cladius decreed that Claire can only ascend the throne when she has been marked and mated. She will ascend the throne as the true ruler if she was to marry her true mate. If she ends up mating the wrong wolf, then she will remain human and her husband will have to rule the kingdom in her stead until the next heir to the kingdom is born and comes of age. Needless to say, when the king declared such a decree, all the eligible wolves in the kingdom came to court her. She was overwhelmed and did not know what to do at that point. How will she choose the right wolf and fulfill her destiny. Thank the moon, her father kept the secret of her inability to detect her mate from the wolves of her kingdom, to ensure that she would not be taken advantaged of. Over the next two and a half years, she was courted by many males in the kindom which she turned down. On one faithful evening in July, two months before her 21st birthday, she was training in the pack gym as usual. She wearing a black sports bra with matching shorts while practicing her self-defense training with her trainer and best friend Riana, the strongest female warrior in the kingdom apart from herself. There was suddenly a loud growl from the entrance of the gym. Seth, the son of her father's advisor has just returned from his training in the Earth realm after 5 long years. He rushed towards Claire and sniffed her neck and growled " You are Mine". Claire was beyond shocked, Seth and her grew up together but she was never close to him. At the height of 6ft 7inch with dark brown hair, brown eyes and a muscular build, he towered over her and claimed her to be his. She had no choice but to accept his claims as she had no way to prove if it was true or not. Over the next month, Seth controlled everything she did. He didn't allow her to train with her best friend, claiming that he did not like other males looking at her body when she trains. He didn't allow her to meet up with her friends after her college to hang out as he felt it was not safe for her. He would also send guards with her everywhere so that he could have full control over what she did throughout the day. She was very unhappy with his behaviour and despite spending one month together she still did not feel any spark when he tried to hold her. She has been on many occasions forced to kiss him and he has tried many times to get her to sleep with him, but she refused, using the excuse that she would only be together with him once they had their mating ceremony. Her father fully respected her decision and allowed her to remain in her old room until the ceremony took place. About 1 month ago, King Cladius fell extremely ill after the royal hunt which took place every year. No doctors or healers could figure out what happened to him. After 3 days of him suffering in his chamber, he peacefully passed away. His dying wish for his daughter was for her to still continue with the mating ceremony on her 21st birthday without any delay so that she can take over the throne. Being a dutiful daughter, she agreed. The funeral was held on the early morning near the River of Blooms where her father and herself used to spend many evenings together. It was a beautiful ceremony by the riverside, wild flowers all around the guest with a gold and beige coffin made for her father. Many alphas and betas from the werewolf and earth realm were present to show their respect. At the end of the service, they buried him next to her mother in the royal cemetery. She never felt so lost and alone as she did at that point, but she had to stay strong as she was the soon to be ruler of the Realm. Seth was not present until the very end of the ceremony, but she felt relieved as she did not want to see him. That night, as Claire was getting ready for bed, Seth barged into her room. Claire was very uncomfortable as she was only wearing her lace night gown with no underwear or bra. "What are you doing here Seth? I have had a long day and I do not wish to be disturbed" she exclaimed. He looked at her with eyes dark with lust and said," You little b***h, you have denied me for far too long, tonight you shall give me what belongs to me". He swiftly walked across her bedroom grabbing both her arms and holding them behind her. He smelled her neck and licked her collarbone up to her face. Claire cried, " Seth please stop, I am not ready for this, we are to be married in less than a month, please do not do this to me!!". " Just shut up you little b***h, you are my mate and you will do your duties to me, whether you want to or not". Before she could utter another word, he proceeded to tear her nightgown, using the shredded pieces to bind her hands and her mouth. She could not do anything to stop him other than cry to show her disapproval. He gazed at her body with a sense of hunger and dominance. He bit her left n****e, while pinching her right n****e hard. He kissed her cheeks and neck roughly, leaving bruises in his wake. She tried to fight him off with all her might but he was too strong for her when her hands were bound. She then saw him removing his clothes and she noticed the bulge in his pants. She used that moment of distraction to kick him hard on the knee and run towards the door. This only fueled his lust, " No where to run little princess, you will be mine before the night in over" he said as he grabbed her by her hair and pulled her back to the bed, binding her legs as well this time. When she was completely immobilized, then he ran his finger over her opening before he proceeded to lick her down there. She tried to clamp her legs shut, which was futile and made his angrier causing him to bite her inner thigh, drawing blood. She could not do anything more at that time, other than to pray to the moon goddess for a miracle. To answer her prayer, there was suddenly a knock on the door. Seth stopped what he was doing and stared at the unlocked door. Just as he was about to get up from the bed, Riana opened the door and gasped. " What the f**k are you doing Seth? Her father just passed away" said Riana. Seth did not bother to answer her and proceeded to put on his clothes and walk out the door. As soon as he left, Riana untied Claire and helped her clean herself up. Riana then spent the whole night with Claire to ensure that Seth did not come in again. Praise the goddess, after that night's event, Seth never tried to come near her again. He even apologized for his behavior, saying that he was overcome by grief and was drunk that night that he came to her room and promised he would never touch her again without her permission. Riana also told her to give him another chance since he is her mate and she would start to have feelings for him after the mating ceremony. Due to her duties to her kingdom, she agreed and that is what led her to stand in front of her mirror today looking as beautiful as her mother on her wedding day.
