Claire looked at the clock, it was already 10pm. She could feel her hands sweating and her heart beating louder and faster than usual. Something was not right, she felt that she was making a huge mistake and needed to do something to calm herself down. She remembers how her father would always take her for walks in the palace maze whenever she felt worried or nervous about something. With two more hours before the start of the mating ceremony, she decided to take a stroll there to calm her nerves. No matter what, her duties to her kingdom comes first, she will have to mate with Seth tonight even if her heart was not in it. As she left her room, her personal bodyguard Leo, was outside her door waiting for her.

" Your majesty, is something the matter? We still have some time before the ceremony", asked Leo, eyeing her with a worried gaze.

"I'm fine Leo, I just need to get some air before the ceremony begins,"

" Allow me to accompany you, your highness. You should not be alone so soon after the king's death, as it may not be safe here in the kingdom," Leo started to walk beside her.

Leo has always been sweet to Claire. They are both about the same age, grew up and went to school together. Leo always made sure Claire felt safe and comfortable wherever she went and he always felt very protective over her. He made sure to get extra training as soon as he gained his wolf, to make sure he would always be there to protect her, He soon gained a reputation as one of the more vicious and handsome warrior in the kingdom with his wavy dark brown hair, green eyes and body like an adonis. But he was never interested in seeing any women as he felt a sense of responsibility towards Claire. After her fathers passing, he was very sure that there was something sinister going on in the palace and started to investigate the matter. He even requested to be Claire's personal guard to make sure that no harm came her way.

Claire gave a sweet smile," Dont worry Leo, I will be fine. I'm just going for a short stroll in the maze to clear my head before the ceremony begins"

" Please your highness, allow me to accompany you until the entrance of the maze at least," sighed Leo. " There are people in the kingdom who may not be so trustworthy. It would give me a peace of mind".

" Alright Leo, you can come with me til there", giggled Claire as she made her way to the back entrance of the palace which was usually used by the Omega servants. " But just so you know, I can protect myself quite well,"

" I have no doubt about that your majesty, you have kicked my ass on numerous occasions as I'm sure my sore behind would remember ," laughed Leo.

When they reached the entrance of the maze, Claire hugged Leo," I'll be fine from here Leo, please get some rest before the ceremony and stop calling me by my title. We have been friends for too long for you to do that,"

Leo was surprised and hugged her back, " You will always be my princess first and my duty to you will come above everything else, your highness. Leo then stationed himself in front of the maze while Claire ventured to her favorite spot in the middle of the maze, where a swan fountain stood.

As Claire was reaching the middle of the maze, she heard grunting and moaning sounds coming from the middle of the maze. She was about to turn around to avoid meeting some unknown wolves doing things she did not want to see at her favorite spot when she heard a very familiar voice screaming" Harder Seth, harder".

Claire's blood ran cold as she hid by the hedges and peered to the middle. Seth was in her fathers ceremonial robes with his pants down, f*****g her best friend Riana from behind.

" Shut up Riana, we don't want anyone hearing that nasty mouth of yours now, do we," growled Seth as he pulled her hair hard and continued to take her from behind. Riana whimpered softly and did as she was told. Just as she was about to come, Seth drew out his c**k and turned her to face him. He pulled her hair harder to make her kneel in front of him and continued to f**k her mouth. Riana was gagging and tears were falling down her eyes, but she didn't stop taking in his massive c**k. After a few moments, he pulled his c**k out of her and came all over her face and chest.

" Clean yourself up Riana, we have to attend my mating ceremony in less than an hour," said Seth as he pulled his pants back up. Riana cried as she wiped her face," Why are you still marrying that b***h, I am your mate Seth, you are mine",

Claire covered her mouth with her hands as she gasped in shock.

"Keep your voice down, Riana, we do not want anyone to hear you now, do we," sneered Seth as he grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her. " You know that all this is for show. Once I have marked and mated that useless princess, I will be crowned King since I am not her true mate. My father and I already have more than 70 percent of the guards on my side and as soon as I am King, I will kill that little b***h and make you my Queen. After all, who wants a half-breed to run the werewolf kingdom," he laughed.

" Its just unfair, Claire has gotten everything since she was born, the perfect family, the perfect looks and now she gets to mark my mate," cried Riana. " I want to kill that b***h myself, like how I killed her useless father with the poisoned herb the other day," laughed Riana as she kissed Seth.

Claire could not believe what just happened, how could all this be a cruel plot just to get the throne? She has given her entire life to the kingdom, always putting her duties and responsibility to the kingdom above everything else. What will she do now, who will she turn to? she thought to herself as she ran back towards the entrance of the maze. She has to leave the kingdom now, until she can find her allies and regroup. She had to hide somewhere where no one would think of looking for her, at least until she did some research on who she can trust so that she can cleanse the palace of all the snakes hidden within when the time comes.

As she reached the entrance, Leo saw her face with tears streaked down her cheeks. He knew that something had happened. She proceeded to tell him what she witnessed in the maze.

With a stoic face he asked her," What are your orders princess, my loyalty is with you."

Claire knew that Leo is the only one she can trust at this moment. With a new found purpose and determination, she said," Pack light Leo, we are leaving for the human realm in 15 minutes".

At exactly 11.45pm, just as the crowd started piling into the Great hall. An angry looking Seth was barking out orders to all the soldiers to find the missing princess. Meanwhile, Leo and Claire made their way to the hidden portal at the northern border of the palace to start their new journey with the humans.
