Rejection

----Rejection----   ***Camila's POV*** 'What the f**k do you mean that this omega and I have an inseparable bond, Fenris?!' rang in my head as I saw Caspian storming around. "The moon goddess has the right to refuse a rejection once every hundred years.  She has chosen to refuse this rejection."  Eris calmly said to me as I dreaded giving him this news. I knew why she probably denied this rejection as I sighed. "My wolf just told me that the moon goddess can choose to uphold a fated pair once every hundred years.  She has chosen to override your rejection of me."  I spoke as evenly as I could but my voice trembled looking into his eyes. Caspian stormed up and gripped my shoulders.  I couldn't help but feel the sparks from our bond from his touch.   "Listen here, we may have an unbreakable bond but you will NEVER be my mate.  I need a strong, powerful woman to be my mate, not some kitchen wench Omega.  Get that through your head.  You'll NEVER be mine."  He spat out in anger while tears fell in rivers down my face.  I felt my heart splinter and shatter, falling down into the pit of my stomach.  "But, the goddess.."  I tried to protest but all I felt was emptiness as he interrupted me. "f**k WHAT THE GODDESS WANTS!"  He screamed before a massive bolt of lighting came crashing down near us out of the completely clear sky followed by a large boom of thunder. Squeaking in fear, my first instinct was to jump in his arms.  He caught me and held me for a moment as it felt like a personal period of heaven.  Before I knew it, my body flew back and I landed on my butt on the ground, realizing Caspian pushed me away. My behind stung from cushioning my fall as I sniffled. "I'm going back.  Our run is over."  With that, he morphed and ran off, not waiting for me. My beautiful dress was dirty as I covered my face with my hands, crying out in anguish at being rejected.  The bond couldn't be severed but my heart still broke at the fact that he didn't want me. I stayed there for a while, desperate to pick up the pieces of my broken heart.  Finally, I got back on to my feet and slowly made my way back to our pack house. The pack house came into view as the flames from the torches came into view.  I hastily wiped my tears but knew that my eyes were red and puffy. The guard from the welcoming night was on duty as he noticed me coming.  I must have looked like a wounded animal as my arms were crossed tightly around my chest and I didn't make eye contact.  My movements held no spark of life to them. "Cami!  What are you doing out alone?!  Are you okay?"  He called out, dropping his spear and running over. I stayed silent for a moment, looking away from him.  I didn't want to speak.  "Camila…"  he said gently. "I… I was rejected.  But our bond wasn't severed.  The moon goddess overruled the rejection."  My voice was small as if I was going to break down at any moment. The guard pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly, holding me comfortingly. "I'm so sorry.  Whoever he is, he's an absolute i***t.  You're beautiful and kind.  Anyone can see how much of a catch you are."  He said softly, as my resolve betrayed me and I started to cry again.  His gentle hands wiped the tears away. "T-thank you…"  I realized I had never gotten his name.  As if he read my mind, he spoke again. "My name is Liam.  If you were my mate, I would swear to never make you cry.  I'd do everything to worship the ground you walked on."  He rubbed my back comfortingly as it took everything in me to not fully break down again. I nodded gently as I pulled away.  "I'm going to go in for the night."  I tried to hold back my tears as Liam gently let go. "Goodnight, beautiful."  He smiled as I went inside.  Liam went back to his post but watched me as I went inside. Before I fully went in to the pack house, I heard him say something under his breath. "I wish she was mine." I stepped silently down the hall, my mind an endless whirlpool of thoughts and emotions. The only light in the hall came from the moon peeking from the windows.  My movements were slow as I felt lost emotionally. Without warning, my body flung back, hitting the wall as I whimpered in pain at two hands dug into my shoulders.  The rock wall dug into and pressed against my flesh painfully. Red eyes peered at me, illuminated by the moonlight. "Why the hell do you smell like another man? ANOTHER WOLF?"  Caspian roared at me as I felt like I was drowning in pools of confusion. His eyes showed hatred as he had me pinned to the wall.  How dare he reject me and then do this!  These mixed signals irritated and confused me.  I couldn't take this behavior from him. "Why does it matter why or who I smell like?!  YOU REJECTED ME!  Or did you forget that little tiny detail?"  I snarled and snapped right back at him as he looked stunned. Oh s**t, I just disrespected the Alpha.  Even if I was his mate, I was an Omega. He stood there silently for a little bit before he averted his eyes. "Take a shower.  You smell better with your floral scents than one of another man." He growled angrily before I felt his hands leave my shoulders and heard him stomp off. What the hell was that?  I didn't understand what was going on in his head.  I sighed as I went to my room and took a shower.  What I didn't know was that someone saw the whole encounter and they weren't happy about it. Going into my bed, the exhaustion of morphing and the rollercoaster of emotions took over as I fell asleep the moment my head hit my pillow. ----Confusion---- The next morning came and my body felt like someone had tied a ton of rocks to it.  My movements were sluggish and had no life or spunk to them.  I forced myself to get up and get my day started even though I just wanted to hide in my room all day. 'You never will be mine!' Echoed in my head as I looked at my reflection.  Bags formed under my eyes and my, normally, bright purple eyes looked more like muddied dull purple hues.  I looked lifeless, much like an empty doll that someone got tired of playing with and discarded. Getting dressed in my work dress, I threw my hair up and left my room.  Going down to the kitchen, I avoided mostly everyone until I ran into Brandy. "Girl, you look like s**t.  What happened?"  She asked as her eyes clouded over with worry.  She hugged me from the side gently. "It's nothing, I just didn't sleep well."  I lied and averted my eyes.  My hand gripped the sleeve to my dress. "We grew up together.  You grip your sleeve when you're lying.  What happened?"  She huffed and narrowed her eyes.  Placing her hands on her hips, it was obvious that Brandy wouldn't drop the subject. "I met my mate last night…"  I trailed off. "So were you up all night f*****g?  How was it?"  She smirked as she tried to tease me.  She noticed my sadness right away as I winced like a wounded animal. "He… rejected me, Brandy.  Because I'm an omega."  I mumbled and refused to look at her. "HE DID WHAT TO MY BEST FRIEND? MY SISTER?  WHO IS HE AND WHERE CAN I FIND HIM?  I'M GOING TO GIVE HIM A PIECE OF MY MIND!"  Brandy screamed as I shook my head furiously.  I gripped her arm. "No, please don't.  Our bond wasn't severed.  The moon goddess wouldn't allow it."  I admitted as I had a fleeting thought of if it would have been better if it was severed.  Maybe I could get over the pain instead of being subjected over and over to my heart breaking all over again at the sight of him. "He's still an asshole."  Brandy muttered as her aura exuded one of murderous intent.  She always was the one to say exactly what was on her mind, regardless of if it offended anyone.  I has always appreciated that about her. I sighed softly as I couldn't tell her that the Alpha of the pack rejected me.  Everyone would probably find out soon anyway but I wasn't ready for the sympathetic looks and the "I'm sorry"s that came with being rejected. "Oh, Belle wasn't feeling well this morning so I'm helping in the kitchen today."  Brandy said as I raised an eyebrow.  It was obvious she was trying to change the subject and I was thankful. Belle was never sick a day in her life.  She always was the one that we were jealous of in relations to her immune system.   "That's weird.  Belle is never sick."  I commented as Brandy nodded.   "It is weird but I mean, she's bound to catch a cold sooner or later.  She always had the iron clad immune system."  Brandy shrugged. We went into the kitchen and made breakfast.  Peeking out, I saw Caspian sitting in his normal spot.  I felt a knot in my throat at the fact I'd have to be near him again. "Mate… he is our mate."  Eris said softly, whining. "We want to be with our mate."  She added as I nibbled on my bottom lip sadly. "He doesn't want us, Eris."  I mind linked her as she bayed sadly. I went out and set the food down on the tables as I heard a familiar giggle. "Oops!  I'm sorry, Alpha.  I must have tripped but thankfully, your lap was free."  Madelyn giggled as she landed in Caspian's lap.  She wrapped her arms around his neck seductively. "MINE!  HE IS MINE!"  Eris raged as Madelyn gave me the side eye.   Initially, I wanted to rip her off of Caspian but my heart broke all over again as he didn't move her.  He let her stay there.  The lap that was supposed to be mine.  The look on Madelyn's face openly mocked me but I felt frozen in place.  I'm sure Caspian didn't want the pack knowing that his fated mate was an Omega. I swallowed a sharp gasp at the sight and rushed away as Liam entered the hall. "Cami?"  He questioned as I rushed away, holding my head down to cover the fact I was crying again. Liam ran and chased me as I heard a possessive growl from Caspian.  Liam caught me and held me in his arms, quietly wiping my tears away. "Cami?  What's wrong, what happened?"  He asked with a ton of concern in his voice.  The next thing I knew, I felt his warm, soft lips against my forehead.  I couldn't help but blush at the gentle gesture. I heard a thud, followed by a 'what the hell?!' as Caspian stormed over to us.  He must have seen the kiss.  This wasn't going to end well. "Take. Your. Hands. Off. Of. Her."  Caspian gritted his teeth as Liam looked between us and it dawned on him. "YOU are Cami's fated mate?  You caused this?  You made your mate cry?  For what?  Why would you reject someone like her?"  Liam stood up for me as I gripped his arm and silently begged him to let it go.  Liam protectively placed me behind him but I didn't want him to get involved. "Well, you don't want her, Alpha.  So you shouldn't mind if I try and take a chance with her, right?"  Liam smirked confidently. "I would treat her like a princess, like a goddess, like she was the most precious treasure in the world.  I'd make sure she would never cry another day in her life."  Liam continued, squaring up to Caspian. The next thing I saw was Caspian punching Liam and knocking him out.  Gasping, I ran over to Liam to check on him as Caspian's eyes glared at me and he stormed away.
