Nobody Can Touch What’s Mine!

1604 Words
Finally, the day has come. Veronica was literally bouncing up and down in her mind and she finally decided to stop faking anger at Edwin. Before, she thought it would only suffer Edwin for what he did, but damn f*****g hell! It was torture for her too to stay away from him; Edwin on her tail like a lost puppy didn’t help. With a cheerful mind, Veronica opened Edwin’s office door. But the sight in front of her eyes made her freeze on the spot. A sharp pain pierced through her heart when she saw Edwin’s lip touched with someone else sitting on the spot which belonged to her and only her. She fisted her hand, and a sudden urge to rip that blonde’s head off came over her. She somehow managed to stop herself and ran in another direction. She closed the ladies’ room door with a loud thud and stood in front of a mirror. Her eyes were glowing red, not from heartbreak but from pure rage. Rage of killing someone. Her fisted hands started to burn. Her whole body started to burn; She couldn’t breathe properly. Her breathing grew heavier with each second. She was shaking visibly. A strange force tried to overpower her, and she let it. She let herself sink into darkness. …Edwin’s Office… Two f*****g weeks! His sweet mate didn’t talk to him for two f*****g weeks except for business. And it’s driving him crazy. He would go mad if this thing went on. He needed to do something to make her talk to him and forgive him. He was so engulfed in his thoughts that he didn’t notice the outsider invading his personal space. “What the hell, Jessica!” he roared when he felt someone brush her hand up and down over his shaft. She smiled seductively, showing her plump red lips and fluttering her thick eyelashes. Nothing. Her touch made him feel nothing; not even a single twitch in his manhood which his little fairy could make him feel only with her single gaze. “Come on, Edwin, you didn’t come to me for months. Don’t you want to feel good? Let me give you the pleasure,” saying this, she sat on his lap and snacked her arms around his neck. He had had enough of her nonsense. His mood is already irritated from those shitty days he has spent over the last two weeks. He doesn’t need another pain in the ass. So, he grabbed her hand when a faint sound of a door opening caught his eyes. His eyes widened when he saw her. He turned his head to see this blonde on his lap, and her lips touched his just then. He was shocked for a second. She didn’t do it in front of his mate? How dare that b***h! He looked at the door again, only to find that spot empty. s**t… s**t… s**t! He stood up abruptly, making that blonde fall on the ground. He needs to find his mate. When he was about to go, Jessica stopped him. “What happened, baby? Where are you going?” she whined, as if demanding her boyfriend. Edwin grabbed her by her neck and lifted her off the ground. She was squirming in his arms, begging him to let her go. “Listen, b***h, if I ever see you anywhere near me, I will kill you,” Edwin growled in his deadly voice and threw her on the ground before storming out. Edwin didn’t find Veronica on her desk. He was about to go to Isabella’s office because she was always there when she was upset, but a shake on the ground stopped him. The artificial light sources that shone through day and night started to flicker. He looked around, shocked. Strong gusts of wind were unleashed, destroying everything in its way. He heard the growling sound of the cloud. A sudden lightning bolt shattered the darkened and ominous sky in the utmost vicious way. The ground started to shake again; this time, it was nowhere near stopping. Edwin saw Jason coming toward him, running. “Get everyone out of the building right f*****g now!” he yelled at Jason before running toward Isabella’s cabin. Then he found Sam coming out holding Isabella in his arms protectively. “Where’s Veronica?” he asked them in a low voice, sounding desperate. “What do you mean by where’s she? Couldn’t you find her? What did you do this time?” Isabella shrieked. Edwin lowered his head, ashamed of what he had done. But there’s no time to sulk about that; he needed to find her sooner. She is in danger. “Get her out of here,” he muttered to Sam before following Veronica’s scent again. It’s faint, but it was there, and because they are mates, he could smell her sweet scent. His steps halted when his feet came into contact with a wet floor. The water is coming from the restroom in the direction of her scent. Damn! She must be in danger. He burst open the door and entered inside. She was standing there, grabbing the sink, and her back was facing him. Edwin sighed in relief. He went to Veronica, taking baby steps. “Little fairy,” Edwin called her softly, putting his hand on her shoulder. Veronica snapped her head back at him. He was taken aback when their eyes met…Her eyes… it’s different. Her eyes were pure gold with a green tint in them, and they were glowing with rage. “NOBODY CAN TOUCH WHAT’S MINE. AND. YOU. ARE. MINE!” Veronica growled, grabbing and pulling Edwin close to her by his shirt. Edwin softly put his hand on her face and whispered, “Calm down little one.” Veronica leaned on his touch, blinked, once… twice… then closed her eyes for a brief moment. Edwin was looking at her with a warm gaze. When she opened her eyes again, they had already returned to her soft dark brown ones. They stared at each other for god knows how long before her eyelids started to drop. Edwin wrapped his arms around her limp body and lifted her off the ground. “Let’s get you home, little fairy,” Edwin whispered, kissing her forehead and carrying her toward the exit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “Let me go!” Isabella squealed in Sam’s arms, tried to break free, and attempted to enter the building, which had stopped shaking just a few seconds ago. “Bella, calm down. She will be alright!” Sam tried to console her, but she was nowhere near to listening to him. “She still hasn’t come outside, and you are telling me to calm down? Get your hands off me and let me go inside, you bastard!” she yelled. “Bella!” Sam shouted in frustration. Isabella flinched at the intensity of his voice. Sam’s eyes soften when he notices tears in her eyes. He brought his hand near her face to wipe her tears and make her eye contact with him. “I am sorry, sweetheart. Don’t worry. Vicky will be alright. Edwin wouldn’t let anything happen to her. He will protect her with his life,” ‘As I will do the same for you, Sam kept the last word to himself. “I don’t… I don’t have anyone except her. I can’t… I can’t let… anything happen to her. I can’t… lose her,” she broke down in tears as she expressed her feelings to Sam. He pulled her to his chest and enclosed his arms around her. He never thought in a millennium that it would hurt so much to see her crying. His chest tightened. An urge of protectiveness towards her developed within him. “Shush. It’s okay. You won’t lose her and…” ‘You aren’t alone anymore; you have me’ before he could say the last word to her, his phone rang. He received it without checking the caller ID. “Send everyone back and check on the damage,” Edwin’s calm voice echoed through the phone. “I assume she is safe,” Sam commented, ignoring Edwin’s command. “She is. I am taking her with me,” saying that Edwin ended the call. Sam sighed and turned back to his mate, whose eyes were red and puffy from all the crying. “Hey, sweetie, your sister is safe with Edwin. Don’t worry. Let’s get you home,” he informed Isabella softly and led her toward his car. She reluctantly followed him. The car came to a halt when they reached Isabella’s apartment. Sam glanced at her. She was absentminded, drawn by her own thoughts. She winced when Sam put his hand on her and snapped her head up to him. “Are you alright? Do you need me to stay with you at night?” Sam asked, unsure of her reaction. He wanted to spend time with her and make sure she was okay. He wanted her to know that she wasn’t alone. He was there for her and always would be. She shook her head, muttering a small ‘No.’ Sam sighed and placed his hand on her head; slowly caressing her head, he uttered, “Fine. Take care,” giving her a soft smile and planting a kiss on her forehead. Isabella was shocked for a moment. No one has ever shown her such adoration. She nodded her head and got out of the car, giving him a small smile. Sam kept staring at her back until she disappeared inside her apartment.
