Drunken mates

1870 Words
Veronica punched one of the goons in his face as he fell to the ground groaning; the other one attacked her first, and she dodged, and that guy fell to the ground, nearly one meter away from her as she kicked his stomach. She punched the next one, grabbed his shoulder, and threw him away to the nearby tree. That guy’s head split apart, and blood was oozing from the wound, from the impact. The last guy’s eyes widened in fear, and he ran as fast as he could, as if his life depended on it. Edwin was mesmerized by his mate’s combat skill. He went to her and stood right behind her back. When she was about to hit him with her elbow, he grabbed her hands and spun her around to face him. Veronica tilted her head, knitted her brows together, and asked, “Who are you?” Edwin found this gesture too cute. “Edwin William Roberts or my Eddy?” she asked innocently with her soft voice. “Both,” Veronica scoffed, hearing Edwin. “I hate you both,” Veronica spat, poking her index finger in his chest. “I want to hate you. I need to hate you. But I hate the fact that I can’t hate you and I hate myself for my weakness,” she yelled out. Edwin put his hand on her cheek and caressed it. Veronica closed her eyes, leaning on his touch; she put her head on his chest. “I hate that I missed you,” was the last word she said before passing out. Edwin wrapped his hand around her so that she wouldn’t fall. “I missed you too,” Edwin whispered, placing a kiss on her forehead. “Let’s go home,” he said before lifting her off in a bridal style and heading to his suite. “Hey! Where are you taking her? You can’t kidnap her, you bloody fucker,” Isabella yelled as she saw Edwin take Veronica away. Isabella was fully drunk and stumbled; she was about to fall to the ground. She closed her eyes, ready for the impact, but it never came. Sam grabbed her by her waist. “Let’s get you home too,” he said, looking straight into her eyes. Isabella blinked a few times. “You…” her words stuck in her mouth as she threw up on Sam’s shirt, who had already jumped a step back like a frog. “Eww… I swear if you throw up again, I will leave you on the street”. Just as Sam finished his sentence, Isabella threw up again. Sam retracted his hand instantly. As Sam lifted his grip on her, she was about to fall, but then again, his protected arms didn’t let her fall. Her eyes were closed. Sam took a close look at her face; she had a slight smile on her lips. She looks utterly beautiful when she smiles. He brushes his fingers on her soft cheek. A smile found its way to Sam’s lips. “You look so calm in sleep, not feisty but fabulous,” he whispered as he lifted her off the ground and reached his suite within minutes. Sam laid her down on the couch. He ripped his shirt open and threw it away as it was dirty… thanks to his drunken mate. Isabella fluttered her eyes open and sat up in a jolt. She clutched her hair as a severe headache hit her. “You fucker are you trying to take advantage of me!” she screamed as her eyes fell on Sam. “Me!” Sam exclaimed shockingly, pointing his finger to himself. “What gave you the idea that I was trying to take advantage of you?” he scoffed. “Your dress up!” Sam glanced at his half-necked body, then scoffed again. “It’s you… f**k!” before Sam could finish his sentence, Isabella swung her leg and hit his d**k again. Sam hissed, gripping his crotch. Isabella was about to attack him again when he managed to dodge and circled around the couch, trying to protect his family jewel from this crazy woman. ‘Why can she just leave his little buddy alone!’ “Listen, I was just trying to help you… Someone, please save me from this crazy woman! Eddie! Help me!!!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edwin took her to his suite. Roberts Castle, his own hotel. His suite is simply elegant with a large king-size bed, a small nightstand beside the bed, a walk-in closet, a large sitting area, and a large glass window through which he watches the busy nightlife of this city every day. They aren’t vampires; still, they are out at night running for a better life. He sometimes chuckles to himself about how short their life is, unlike him. He just doesn’t know whether having eternal life is a curse or a blessing. Now that he looks down at his mate in his arms, he is sure it must be a blessing. Edwin gently placed Veronica on the bed and planted a kiss on her forehead. Just as Edwin was about to draw back, Veronica pulled him to her. She opened her beautiful dark brown eyes. She pecked on his lips. Before Edwin could react, Veronica flipped them off. Now she is literally sitting on Edwin’s abdomen. This small act of hers was enough to make Edwin hisse in pain because of his hardened manhood. Veronica brushed her fingers over his face seductively; she lowered her head to kiss him on the lip. “Uff! Your nose is middling in my way,” Veronica whined with a pout; Edwin couldn’t help but chuckle at his sweet mate. “Let me teach you how to avoid this middling nose,” Edwin tilted her head, cupping her face, and gave her a long peck on her pout. He wants to kiss her so badly, but he won’t, not when she is fully drunk. She will regret it, and he doesn’t want her to regret it. Veronica put her head on his chest. Edwin closed his eyes, and being his mate in his arms made him relax and carefree. “Eddy?” Veronica’s soft voice came into his ear. “Yes, baby.” “I will dance now,” she said in her chirping voice. “WHAT!” Edwin snapped his eyes open. Veronica was on her feet, standing on the bed, looking as stunning as ever. Having no other way, he stood beside her, staring at her adorably as she started swinging her hips; her hands made their way from her waist to the air, she flipped her hair from side to side, jumped up and down on the bed. She was in her own land, having no care for this world. He wondered how come she danced so lively even without music. Suddenly, she tripped over something and was about to fall when Edwin swung his hand around her waist and prevented her from falling. Her hair was all over her face. Edwin slides off the hair from her face softly. “Why are you making it hard for me, little fairy…” he muttered. She didn’t reply, just smiled, which skipped a beat of his cold-blooded heart. As Edwin steadied her, she slapped her hand over her mouth and ran towards the bathroom, where she threw up on the basin. Edwin was beside her in a blink of an eye; he held her firmly, rubbing her back. She rinsed her face as she ended up vomiting. “I hate this,” she mumbled, shoving her face into his chest. He wrapped his arms around Veronica. “That’s why I was telling you to sleep instead of running around,” he said, kissing her head. Veronica pulled back and stared at him with an odd expression. There were a lot of her eyes trying to tell him; he just couldn’t pinpoint what exactly that was. “Edwin William Roberts, I hate you,” saying that, she ran toward the sitting area where a large mahogany oval table and heart shield back chair were standing. Why does she love running around so much! Not that he complains, but she will throw up again if she continues this. Reluctantly, he followed her. “What are you doing? You will fall down!” Edwin exclaimed as he saw her climbing the table. She stood up on the table. “I am gonna sing now!” Edwin sighed. He crossed his hands over his chest, and listened to her with a smile on his face as she started singing. ‘Sometimes I love you Then you do something stupid Sometimes I love you Then you do something selfish Sometimes I love you But sometimes…’ ‘I love you; it’s something Edwin was dying to hear from her. He could do anything for her to say the word to him. ‘I hate that I hate you Can I get a redo For the things that I put you through Remember when I cried cause of what you said.’ She has a divine voice, and it always calms him. But she hates him. She hates him for lying to her. He didn’t want to, but he did lie and had no excuse for it. He didn’t want her to hate Eddy because of Edwin’s rudeness, his arrogance. Still, he made her hate him. ‘Sometimes I love you Then you do something stupid Sometimes I love you Then you do something selfish Sometimes I love you But sometimes…’ Veronica stumbled, and Edwin was first enough to catch her. Her eyes closed tightly. When she felt no pain, she opened her eyes slowly and smiled as she saw his concerned face. “I wanna fly!” she exclaimed, throwing her hand in the air. Edwin couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah. Let’s fly to bed,” he said, pulling her close to his chest and then landing on the bed in one jump. Edwin placed her on the bed softly, caressing her head. He laid down beside her. ‘Mom, dad, I miss you…’ he heard Veronica mumbling softly. Edwin sighed. He continued to caress her head as she snuggled closer to him. He wrapped his hand around her waist protectively. Edwin knew he had to tell her everything. But he is scared. For the first time in a century, Edwin William Roberts was scared. What if she leaves him? What if she doesn’t want anything to do with him after knowing his real identity? Will he be able to live without her? The answer is NO, and Edwin knows that very well. Even though it’s not even a week since they met, he knows if she rejects him, he will die of heartbreak. It’s one of the disadvantages of being a Royal. Even if he weren’t a royal, he couldn’t live without her for a single moment. “Don’t leave,” he whispered, kissed the side of her head, and she hummed as if to answer him. His lips form a small smile, and he falls into a deep slumber with his mate in his arms.
