Chapter Five

Bash’s POV

First period is almost over, and Stella is still not here. Where is she? That Alpha better be keeping his hands to himself. My baby sister has a mate already. An Alpha of the neighboring pack. She’s going to have to leave us. Who will protect her if she’s away from us?

“Shouldn’t one of us go and make sure she’s, okay?” I ask in the link with Leo, Teo and Theo.

“I was just thinking the same thing. Go check Theo. She’ll be less mad at you.” Leo says.

“Agreed.” Both Teo and I respond in unison.

“Fine.” Theo says with a shrug of his shoulder. He stands quickly and exits the room without a word to the teacher. Pro of being a Future Alpha.

Theo's POV

I left the classroom and kept trying to reach out into my mind link with Stella but it seems like she put a block up. I don't blame her, she probably wants privacy for this particular conversation. I was worried that this was last year all over again. But, she wouldn't have gone off on her own if she sensed him lying. So, maybe it is true.

'Theo, what do you mean Stella is off on her own?!' Papa growled in my mind. s**t I always forget that we have it open during school hours.

'Well, Papa she isn't necessarily alone. Just not with us.' I say trying to ease his worry.

'If she's not with you guys who the f**k is she with?' This time Dad decided to jump in.

'Baby, where is your sister?' Momma cooed into my mind. She always had a calming effect on me, just like our Stella. Well, maybe not as strong as Stell's but she could always soothe a nerve wracking situation.

'Umm-' I was about to answer when Stella's link opened back up.

I was almost to her when I heard two high pitch voices taunting her. I could hear the vile words being said and feel the anger rising in my parents and brother. I was most shocked at the anger in my wolf when we heard the girls threaten my baby sister. All I saw was red at that point and I couldn't suppress the growing growl that was threatening to come out. 

“I’d love to see you pathetic whores try. Touch her. I f*****g dare you.” I growled, well more like my wolf Cruz growled. I heard my sister sigh sadly. She always hated when people got punished for their threats to her. People just seemed to never learn their place. No one would ever get away from threatening her, not with us alive. And where the f**k was this mate of hers?

Stella’s POV

After leaving the empty classroom I run into the girl’s restroom to compose myself. As I stare into the mirror two of the bathroom stall doors open. Revealing the girls from the other day. I think Kai said their names were Nora and Grace. Not sure who is who though. I immediately put my guard up prepared for a snarky remark considering they’ve been giving me deadly glares all week. As if I hadn’t noticed them.

“Ah, look who we have here Nora.” So, slut #1 must be Grace, making slut #2 Nora.

“If it isn’t the spoiled Alpha’s daughter.” Nora taunts. They begin edging closer to me trapping me into the far end of the wall.

“Looks like no one’s here to protect you this time slut.” Grace snarls at me. Little do they know is as soon as I ended my conversation with Kai, I opened my link with my brothers again. Meaning they were hearing this whole conversation. I could feel their rage building within me.

“Guys, be smart. Whatever you think this will accomplish I promise you it won’t end well for you.” I say with a slight begging tone. Not for myself, but for them. I knew there would be no stopping my brothers this time.

“Shut up b***h. We’re not afraid of you. You’re just a pathetic whore.” Nora growls at me, was her growl meant to intimidate me?

“All alone with no protection. Anything could happen to you. It would be a shame if you slipped in the bathroom and had your head bashed open. Or I don't know, maybe you fell wrong and snapped your own neck.” Grace said in a sweet sadistic tone.

“I’d love to see you pathetic whores try. Touch her. I f*****g dare you.” I let out a sad sigh. Looking up and seeing the fury fill my sweet brother, I knew the other three would be uncontrollable. And with that thought Bash, Leo and Teo appeared beside a fuming Theo. All four of their eyes were pitch black, indicating their wolves were in control. f**k.

“I did warn you.” I say softly, with sadness in my tone.

“What’s going on?” Kai said out of nowhere.

“You’re sluty pack members decided today was the day they wanted to die.” Teo answered with pure anger.

“Where the f**k were you when members of your pack were threatening to end our sister's life?” Leo roared at Kai. Well, technically it was his wolf Nic.

“WHAT?!” Kai growled ferociously towards the two shell-shocked girls still cornering me. “YOU DARE THREATEN MY MATE AND YOUR FUTURE LUNA?”

“Lu-luna?” Nora whimpered eyes wide in realization as she looked at me. She looked sincerely apologetic, Grace on the other hand looked more outraged at the revelation.

“She can’t be your Luna. I was supposed to be!!” Grace roared lunging at me. If I had felt bad for her before that was long gone. Belle was growling at the w***e who dared claim Kai to be hers. Huh, seems he really is our mate for her to react like that. Anyways, back to the lunging b***h. Luckily, she was slower than my brothers and Kai who grabbed a hold of her hair before she could touch me. “You were meant to love me!”

“What? I can’t stand you; how could I ever love you?” Kai asked through a clenched jaw.

“Enough of this bullshit. These two are coming with us. My parent will want a word with them. Send our condolences to their parents.” Teo said unapologetically. “Stella let’s go. Now.”

Before I could follow my brothers, Kai grabbed a hold of my waist and spun me around. He held me in a tight hug. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you baby.” His voice was thick with emotion I could only describe as guilt and sadness.

“Kai. I’m fine, they didn’t even touch me.” I reassured him with a soft smile and before I knew it, I was being pulled away from his warm arms by Bash.

“You guys seriously need to stop taking her away from me.” Kai growled.

“She’s still our sister. She isn’t officially yours until your mark is on her shoulder, which won’t happen until AFTER she turns 18. So, until then she will remain where she always has been. By our side.” Teo growled back, still on edge from what just transpired. At the moment my brothers needed the reassurance that I was safe and still with them. 

“Everyone please stop fighting. Kai, I’ll see you next week.” I said in a pleading tone while trying to appease my fuming mate.

“Can I at least have your number so we can talk until I can see you again?” He begs me.

“Sure, let me see your phone.” I cave, unable to see him so sad. I take his phone and program my number for him, I feel my heart soar at the sight of his huge smile. The feelings I have every time he’s around only solidify the truth. He really is my mate. And come Wednesday there will be no denying that fact.

We arrived at the pack house with the Nora and Grace. Nora has been crying the whole way, while Grace has been growling at me every time I look at her. There was no saving these girls this time. I hated people dying because of me. I mean they did threaten my life, and the fact that I would eventually move unprotected (in my family’s eyes) to their pack was enough to end their lives. Well, that and the fact that they basically taunted me with my supposed impending death. At least according to my brothers and I knew my parents would agree. Actually, my fathers will likely question why they are still breathing.

We head up to the conference room and when we open the doors, I see all four of my parents already present. Seems one of my brothers already linked them. Or mom knew we were coming. Either way they were all there and angry. Even momma looked murderous.

“You two, again?!” Papa said in a gravely tone.

“What do you mean again Luca?” Momma asked through gritted teeth.

“Well, a few days ago they had an altercation with Stella, but we let them off with a warning love.” Dad said eyes wide at the look on mom’s face. I couldn't help but swoon at his endearment. I always admired my parents relationship. Stella seriously...NOT THE TIME.

“Don’t be mad at them momma, I used my calming aura on them. They didn’t really have much of a choice.” I said with a small smile.

“You have to quit doing that in situations like these, angel. Girls like this will not give up.” Momma chastised, it seems she has had to deal with many girls like the ones in front of us in her day. Dad and Pa used to be major playboys, not Papa though. He was the perfect mate who honored the mate bond and waited. 

“They didn’t know who I was. I did laugh at them.” I say in slight defense of the girls first indiscretion.

“Whatever. We heard what they said this time and there are no excuses.” Momma said with hatred in her eyes towards the two girls. s**t I forgot that they made the boys keep a link open to them, meaning they would hear anything they did. s**t. I wonder if they know about Kai. By the twinkle in momma's eyes when she looked at me, she knew. 

“What do you mean you heard us?” Grace asks in an annoyed and might I add disrespectful tone. A tone directed at my mother. Mine. She really did have a death wish.

“Don’t speak to her that way!” Everyone in the room growled, including me. My wolf and I could never stand anyone speaking to my mom in any form of disrespect.

“To answer your question Grace, and yes I know your name. I heard because my boys are instructed to always have a link open with us when they’re at school. Stella is always to have a link open with her brothers. So, whatever Stella heard you bitches saying to her, they heard and in turn my mates and I heard.” Momma explained in a cheerful voice. To anyone else she would sound happy...sweet even, but if you knew her, you knew that tone meant you were about to meet your end.

“Meaning we heard you when you told our daughter she was pathetic. Unprotected. How unfortunate it would be for her head to be bashed open. Or neck snapped. What you failed to understand is that Stella is NEVER unprotected. She is far from pathetic. And if she had been harmed it would have taken us moments to find you and kill you. Along with anyone you ever knew. Including your entire pack.” Pa said in an eerily calm voice. The thought of Kai and his pack being hurt because of something happening to me made my heart ache.

“Not that you’re not going to die anyways. The threat of our daughter being injured alone is enough to sentence anyone to death. s**t I would be okay with killing anyone who looked at her in a way I didn't like.” Papa said with a growl. His wolf on edge at the thought of anyone threatening his pup. I rushed to his side and wrapped my arms around him. I knew his wolf needed to feel I was safe in his arms in order for him to think clearly.

“Papa.” I whispered into his chest, he was shaking and I knew he was fighting his wolf for control. "I'm okay Papa, no one can hurt me while you're alive." I cooed. My mother sensed it as well and came over placing an arm on his shoulder. He soon began to compose himself. He looked down at me.

“You’re safe Princess. You will always be safe. That was a promise I made a long time ago.” He whispered into my hair.
