Chapter Six

Luca’s POV (Papa) After hearing what those girls said to my daughter, rage consumed me. The last time I felt this much anger was a year ago when that mutt Tyler thought he could touch my Princess. That he could force a claim on MY pup. Now these two think they can call her derogatory names and threaten her life? As if their lives wouldn’t end as a result. I could feel my whole body shaking in pure anger. My wolf, Cole, was dying to be let out. He wanted these girl’s blood. I was beginning to feel control over him slip when my angels voice whispered to me.   “Papa.” She whispered into my chest, she knew I was fighting my wolf for control. I could feel her communicating with him. "I'm okay Papa, no one can hurt me while you're alive." She cooed to my wolf and I.   ‘Pup. Pup is safe.’ Cole whimpered in my head, calming more now that he heard her speak. I kept repeating those words repeatedly in my mind. She’s safe. She’ll always be safe with me alive. Elle must have sensed that I was still on edge and came over placing an arm on my shoulder. I took a deep breath inhaling her delicious scent and soon began to compose myself. I looked down at my beautiful pup.   “You’re safe Princess. You will always be safe.” I whispered into her hair. I meant it too. As long as I was breathing, hell as long as everyone in this room was breathing my baby would be safe.   ‘We won’t let anything happen to our girl, ever.’ Elle stated firmly in my mind. ‘Nothing touches our Princess.’ Nick said with a low growl. ‘Not without going through us first.’ Jayden said reassuringly.   I looked them all in the eye and gave a simple nod in affirmation. My eyes snapped to the girls in question.   “What are your names.” I questioned in my Alpha tone. They weren’t apart of this pack, but their wolves acknowledged our wolves superiority. They would feel inclined to respond.   “My name is Nora, Alpha.” Said the brunette girl. “Grace.” Said the blonde, disrespectful one who clearly did not know how to speak to a superior wolf. I recognized her voice immediately as the one who spoke the threats to Stella. I growled lowly at her, loving the fact that her entire being shook in response. “Alpha, sir.” She added quickly. She thought the growl was due to the lack of Alpha, but, it was the fact that I have wanted to rip her to pieces from the second I heard her speaking at the school. “You’re the one.” I stated ominously. “The one?” She squeaked out. “The one who threatened my daughter’s life.” My tone was casual, as if what I had just said had something to do with the weather. “Uhh…umm.” She stuttered out. “No use in denying it. He recognizes your distinctly annoying voice.” Teo said through gritted teeth. “And what about you Nora?” Elle looked at the other she-wolf expectantly. “I-I didn’t want to speak to her that way. Alpha Malakai warned us all to leave your pack members alone. My wolf kept yelling at me for the way I was speaking to her. But-but…” Nora began sobbing, falling to her knees. “But she threatened you.” Stella stated. What? We all looked to my mate, my eyes brows furrowing in question. She sighed deeply. “Grace threatened to tell everyone Nora had s*x with any guy who offered. But…that’s not true is it, Grace? In fact, that’s you. Nora here is waiting for her mate. And when that threat didn’t work, you took photos of her in the locker room and told her you would send them to the whole school.” Pure sadness fell on my daughter’s face. “Ho-how do you know that, Luna?” Nora asked with admiration clear in her eyes. Wait did she just call her Luna? “Your wolf, Emmy.”  Stella stated with a small smile. One showing kindness and understanding to the fragile girl in front of us. “My apologies. But, how do you know my wolf’s name.” Nora asked in a whisper. “She can communicate with anyone’s wolf. It’s one of her many special talents.” Theo beamed with pride for his sister. “Really? Wow.” Nora was radiating awe for Stella, who made her way to Nora’s side and pulled her into a friendly hug. “I’m so sorry she did that to you.” Stella said with tears in her eyes. “No Luna. I’m sorry for how I spoke to you. I hated it with every fiber of my being. I was just scared and a coward.” Nora said hugging Stella back tightly, crying into her shoulder. “I’m sorry, but why do you keep calling Stella Luna?” I finally asked. “Well, she’s my Alpha’s mate. Which will make her my Luna one day.” Nora said with pride in her words. “WHAT?” Jayden, Nick, and I shouted in unison. Stella looked at all of us with wide eyes. “Sorry! I didn’t realize they didn’t know yet.” Nora apologized quickly to Stella who now looked like deer in headlights. “Guys, bring Grace to the dungeons for now. Silver chains. Wolfsbane. And show Nora around. After, you guys and Stella can take her home.” Elle ordered, Leo and Bash grabbed Grace, while Theo and Teo guided Nora out of the room. Stella tried to follow behind them. “Stella, you stay for now.” Elle said calmly. Why does it seem like she already knew what was going on.   “Stella?” I called, needing an explanation. “Yes papa?” She asked sweetly, knowing how hard it is to be upset when she speaks or looks at us like that. “Don’t 'yes Papa' him. You need to tell your father’s what happened today.” Elle stated firmly. “You already know. I was in the bathroom whe-” Stella was unable to finish her sentence before Elle cut her off. “You know I am referring to BEFORE you went to the bathroom sweetie.” Elle said giving her a stern look, causing Stella to let out a long sigh. “ALphaMalakaisaysI’mhismate.” She said so quickly we couldn’t understand a work. “Stella Aria Rossi. Speak slowly and clearly!” I said with a gruff voice. “Ugh. Fine. But you guys are NOT going to like what I have to say.”  She warns. “Alpha Malakai turned 18 today.” She says cryptically. “Yeah? So what?” Nick says as if he could care less about the young future Alpha. “Dad. He turned 18 today.” Stella repeats. “Baby, why would we care that he turned…Oh.” Jayden said with wide eyes. “Yeah.” Stella said as if we were all on the same page. “Princess, I need you to elaborate.” I gritted out, not liking where this was headed. “Papa, he can recognize his mate today.” She said with a small smile, fear in her eyes. Fear for what I wasn’t sure. I had a feeling it was fear for our, well more my, reaction to this news. “Well, that’s good for him. Did he?” Nick said with a clenched jaw. Stella looked at us with a frown. “Yes, he did.” She says simply. “I’m still waiting for the part where we’re supposed to care.” I say flatly. “Me. I’m his mate.” Stella says with a huff. “You’re not 18. You don’t know if he’s your mate yet.” Nick says with fear in his eyes, clearly remembering last year. “He was telling the truth dad.” She said with a look that said she truly believed what this boy had said. “He knows my scent. My wolf responds very possessive towards him. I can feel a connection with him, I could from the moment I met him Monday. I didn’t understand it the. But now, now it makes sense.” “Until Wednesday we don’t just take his word for it. We wait for you to feel the bond. And if you do come Wednesday, then we will reevaluate this.” I say with a solemn expression. “Okay fair enough. He didn’t try anything for the record. I told him I wanted to wait until I knew for sure before I even let him take me out on a date. He agreed with me immediately. If he was lying, he would have just marked me without waiting for my birthday.” Stella said with clear faith in this supposed mate of hers.   “Wednesday Stella.” I said sternly, leaving no room for arguments.   “Papa, I already said I agreed with you.” She said with an exasperated look on her face. She looked just like Elle when she made that face. I looked at her with nothing but love. My pup found her mate. It was too soon. I wasn’t ready for her to leave me.   “I don’t know if I’m ready for you to leave us Princess.” I say quietly, she smiles brightly at me.   “Papa guess what? He said I didn’t have to leave immediately. And his pack is only a ten-minute drive away. He said I could come here whenever I wanted, and as often as I wanted. He promised he would never keep me from all of you!” She says excitedly.   “Like he could keep you away from us, even if he tried.” Nick said with a glint in his eyes, one that said ‘I’d like to see him try.’ I smiled at my Princess.   “Okay, baby. Sounds like your mate has an actual brain. Why don’t you go with your brothers to bring Nora back to school? There’s still a couple hours left after all.” Jayden says.   “Yes love. Go to school, pick up your assignments that you missed and then come right back home.” Elle said smiling adoringly at our pup.   “Okay guys. Love you.” She said hugging each of us one-by-one.   “We love you too baby.” Nick said kissing her temple.   “More than you will ever know.” I say adoringly.   “Don’t be silly papa. I already know.” She says teasingly. With that she turned on her heals and headed after her brothers. “Wow. You guys took that way better than I thought you would.” Elle says with a small giggle.   “I still say we kill him.” I reply with a serious look on my face.   “Or maybe we can hide her for a few years.” Nick says while looking in deep thought, as if trying to figure out where to hide her.   “Oh really? How did you guys feel when my dad suggested hiding me away from you?” Elle said with annoyance in her voice, all three of us growled at the memory. “My point exactly.”   “You’re our mate.” Nick says with a slight growl.   “And she’s his.” Elle deadpans.   “She’s our pup.” I say getting anxious.   “And I was his.” She says in frustration.   “Oh yeah. But Elle. How will we protect her when she is living in someone else’s territory?” I ask panicked.   “He will protect her with his life. Just like all of you would protect me with yours. He’s an Alpha. You can’t keep them apart. It won’t work. I may have a solution that could make everyone happy. But I’ll wait to share it when we meet the young lad.” She says with excitement in her voice.   “Will we like the solution?” I ask curiously.   “You out of EVERYONE will love the idea.” Elle says with a bright smile.   “Fine.” I say caving in.   “Awe does my Alpha need some loving?”  She coos in my ear, making me smile knowingly at the little minx.   “Yes please.” I answer with a pout and with that I threw my mate over my shoulder and rushed her to our room. I needed to let out some of this built up tension and my mate was the perfect cure.
