Chapter 5

Sophie Pov 

Hearing the slow sound of beeps I try to slowly open my eyes, but as soon as I see the light again I close them, I blink a few times and slowly open them again, this time I'm able to see slightly, someone is sitting in the chair next to my bed, he has blonde ash hair, oh god it's Liam, my heart skipped a beat, knowing he cared to stay, he is holding my hand so I give him a little squeeze, his head shots up and his ocean blue eyes are looking into mine, “Sophie you're awake, are you ok? Do you need the doctor?” my heart skips a beat again “ i..im fine… c-could you g-get me s-some w-water please” he gets up to get the cup of water with a straw, he come over and hold the straw to my mouth, I smile at him once he has taken it away, “thank you” I feel my cheeks heat up a bit, “ that's ok, how are you feeling?” I look at my hands which are now in my lap, feeling embarrassed and slight pain but nothing that won't heal but I don't want him to know that, still looking at my hands I tell him “ erm.. I'm fine ``I look at him and give him a half smile.  

We sit in awkward silence and then my brother Zayn comes in “ Hey Sis, how are you feeling?” Zayn gives me a hug “ I’m fine, when can I get out of here? I have work to do” Liam and Zayn both look at me like I have two heads “ why are you looking at me like that” Zayn answers “ you got attacked… you nearly died and you want to go back to work?” I look at him like So? “ And what's your point, move on, I'm going to get changed and then I'm going to my office” with that I get off the bed, only to get stopped by the wires, “ugh” I rip the wires from me and walk to the bathroom.

As I'm getting changed I can hear Liam and Zayn talking, I use my wolf hearing to listen “She can't go back to work, I need to talk to her about if she wants to be with me” Liam sighs sounding defeated, my heart aches a little at the thought of not being with him but I've know him for like a day, I know he is the other half of me and with the mate bond I'm suppose to love him, don't get me wrong is he very handsome, his smile makes me melt but I need to get to know him properly first, maybe I should talk to him, then I hear Zayn talk “ This is Sophie, she is stubborn, she properly wants to forget it happened because she is embarrassed” “ Why would she be embarrassed? She took on a group of rogues, not many people would but she is brave, she has nothing to be embarrassed about” Zayn sighs again, Oh no please dont tell him what I think you're going to say “ Because she has always known she doesn't fit in, no matter how much I try and help her, she once tried to take her own life because she told me she has never felt part of the family, she was bullied through school, she is the bravest person I know, the strongest too, she has always been there for me just like how I've been there for her, she is my sister not by blood but by love, I'll protect her always” I knew I wasn't blood related but why did it hurt so much to hear my brother say that, before I could give Liam a chance to reply, I walked out of the bathroom and out of the hospital room, they knew I would of heard what was said.

I walk out of the hospital and head to my office, just like I said I would, I get stopped by my best friend Hunt, he has always been there for me, “Sophie what are you doing” “I'm going to my office got a few things to do then going to my room, why?” “ Me and a few others are going out tonight to a club and wondered if you wanted to come?” this sounds exactly what I needed “ Who Going?” “ Me, April, Hope and Matt” “ our group of friends then, “ Yeah sure ill come, what time we heading out?” “ill pick you up at half 8” “ Ok see you later” getting out with my friends is just what I need, to forget everything.
