It was dark. cold and scary. no one was there. whole forest was silent. then some indistinct sound broke the silence of the forest. its an animal. those sound are of some animals. they were coming closer. I was horrified. I start running. I was running crazily in the dark forest. but those animals are faster then me they were coming closer and closer. I can hear the sound of their paws on earth. I tried hard to run fast but I was tired. then I fell down because of some bushes tangled in my leg. I turn around those animal was just few steps away in the bushes. I cant see them but can sense their presence which made me shiver inside out. sweat was all over on my body and I was breathing like hell. there is no chance to escape now. I felt my heart stop beating, when I saw those bright red colored eyes in the shadow of bushes looking at me. A loud scream.......... ''Wake up Emily. Wake up" Janet tried to wake her up. She opened her eyes, but still breathing heavily. "You scared me" Janet said in a sleepy voice, while handing her the water bottle. And climb on her bed. "Again the scary dream?" Janet asked, while curling her body in the quilt. Emily nodded, while drinking the water. "What did you see". "Same as always, the castle, the forest, animals following me" she said, while thinking deeply. "which kind of animals" "I didn't saw them" "then how do you know, it's an animal" "I..... I just know" Emily stutter a bit. "why don't you do something about it" "you are right. I have to do something. Those are more frequent now a days." Emily said, while placing both of her hands on her face. Emily is a twenty year old simple girl. She has beautiful oval shaped face, with blue eyes, which is odd because no one in her family has that color of eyes. She has brown wavy hairs, which suits to her skin colour. She is a smart and hard w**********l who loves her family the most. Janet is her best friend and roommate. She is a little bit taller than Emily and also stylish. She looks like a model from any fashion magezine. They go to the same school and work in the same coffee shop after shop. Janet's parents are capable to pay for her, but she want to be self dependent. On the other hand, Emily doesn't belong to a rich family. Her family lives in the village, but her parents sent her to this big city for her studies. As she is the only girl child in her family. Everyone love her so much. Her father Mr. Thompson is a doctor in the only one hospital in their village. He refuse to work in the city and stayed in the village, as he want to serve his own people. His elder brother Jackson is a guard on the security department of the village. Emily works part time to earn for her own, as she doesn't want to load her financial burden on the family and trying to help them a little bit. "you ready" Janet asked her, while brushing her hairs. "Yup. And what about you" Emily was still busy in forcing something in her backpack. "Dad is coming to pick me up in the evening" she said, nonchalantly. "Great. Then I am leaving" she hugged her and then left. In her whole journey, she can't stop thinking about the nightmare. Those are becoming scarier day by day. She decided to talk to her parents. ****** The village Dinning room of Emily's House. Everyone were sitting on the chairs around the dinning table. Having dinner togather. George, Emily's younger brother was sitting next to her grand mother. Her Father was sitting on the head chair. Besides him Emily and then her mother Jennifer . "Have this desert. I made this for you specially" Jennifer said, and extend the bowl towards Emily "I am full mom, can't cram anymore" she refused the bowl. "stop forcing her Jane you already make her eat more than her capacity" said Mr. Thompson. Emily smiled at her and stood up from the chair. "I am tired, wanna sleep now. Good night everyone " she was going to leave, when her grand mother interrupt her. "would you like to sleep with the old lady tonight" she said in a playful way. "I would love to" Emily cooed in return. She loves to spend time with her family. She went to her grand mother's room to sleep. She was still thinking about the dream and that was scaring her. Her granny sense her anxiety and ask her. "what are you thinking dear" "nothing" she replied. "Ohh.... you grow enough to hide stuff from the old age granny" she said dramatically. Emily thought that she decided to talk to someone. So why can't she tell granny. She was so close to her since she was a little kid. Granny loves her and always help her. "you are telling me or not" granny's voice snap her out of the thoughts. She nodded and told her everything about those nightmares. Granny was listening her carefully, but didn't say anything. Her expressions were weird. She was looking shock as well as scared. When Emily finished her part, granny told her, that she will do something and everything will be fine. Then granny embrace her and make her sleep. Next morning Emily woke up early and sit in the garden. There is a small but beautiful garden at the backyard of her house. There are so many colorful flowers and plants. Some of these are so unique, that only can grow in this village and nearby. She likes to see the sun rise here. She was sitting on the chair, looking at the clear sky while sipping coffee. Then suddenly her eyes stop at the cliff. That was too far from here. Can't even visible properly, but she can see a palace, or something like that on the cliff. She narrowed her eyes, in order to see it clearly, as it was so foggy around the cliff. When she was busy in staring at the cliff, her younger brother George came to the garden. He saw Emily staring at something and didn't even notice when George came to her and scream to her ear loudly in order to scare her. "what are you looking for" Emily jumped on her place and the coffee spilled on the floor from her cup. George started laughing. "look at your face" he said while laughing. "you little rat" Emily threw the newspaper on him, missed him as he moved from his place. "what is so funny in this early morning" Jackson, Emily's elder brother enter in the garden. He is a tall, young man with a stiff, muscular body. His black hairs are long and eyes are brown in color, which he got from his mother . He has so many scars on his body, which he earned from the fights with animals, as he is a guard. He has to face that kind of situation so many times. Besides all of the scars he is so handsome and girls are crazy for him. "why is he so annoying all the time jack" Emily said in a complaining voice. "she was..." George was not able to speak, as he was laughing crazily. "you better behave George. You are not a kid anymore." Jackson made him suppress his laughs. "sorry, I couldn't meet you yesterday" Jackson said, while picking the newspaper from the ground. He sit on one of the chair and told George to get him a coffee. "it's ok Jack" Emily said with a smile. "So how was the patrolling. Mom told me you were on duty last night." The security department of the village use to patrolling in order to control thieves, and animal attacks. As their village is not so far from the forest. There is only one village between this village and the dark forest. Animals used come to the village, in order to search food. "So ready for the fair tomorrow? " Jackson asked her while stick his eyes on the newspaper. "hmm?" she raised an eyebrow in question. "the crescent fair. You remember that right?" Jackson raise his head from the paper. "ohhh I just forget about that" Emily mumbled. Her mind was so occupied by the nightmare, that she almost forget about the fair. This fair is held once in a year among all the nearby villages. People come to the fair from all the villages and enjoyed a lot. It is said that, on this day moon goddess gave her blessings to people. so everyone started to celebrate the day, years ago. Since then, this became a tradition to celebrate this day every year, in honor of moon goddess. "I am in management team, this year" Jackson said. "wow. So you can make me sit on the spinning wheel for free." Emily said in childish way and they both laughed. Mr. Thompson also came to the garden and sit on the chair as he heard them from inside. He was glad to see his family together and happy . "Gina was also asking about you, two days ago. She came with her mother to the hospital. You should go and meet her." he also join the conversation. Gina is a girl from the neighbouring village. Her mother also works in the hospital as a nurse. They know each other since childhood as they both used to go to the same primary school. Their villages are not so far so they mostly spend time in playing and studying togather. "oh yes I didn't see her for so long. Can you drop me at Gina's today" Emily said to her father. "ofcourse sweetheart" he replied with a smile.
