CHAPTER THREE

— The next day seems so normal between me and Aaron. Although, I do not trust him fully, I have to relied to him because of my condition. Waking-up one morning without knowing anything is not that easy. Each day I always asked myself about who I truly am. It's the same questions at the back of my mind, yet no matter how hard I try to recollect I still found nothing. It's my third day here in this farm, and so far, my life has been so peaceful. Our neighbors are warm and welcoming —which surprises me, because Aaron and I are both strangers here. "Have you seen Aaron?" I asked Aling Madel. She has a short and curly hair and she's already in her 50s, as what she had told me earlier. The lady spared me a glanced before roaming his eyes around the rice field. "I didn't see him today. Did he not told you where he's going?" she curiously asked with a creased forehead. I shakes my head twice, a sign that Aaron did not told me about his activities today. Aling Madel just nodded at me and told me to ask others. "Don't worry, your boyfriend didn't left if that's what you're thinking," she stated. I have nothing to say about that, so I just shyly smiled. Most of them really believed that Aaron and I are in a relationship. I haven't asked them about who really Aaron is —maybe I should asked them on the next day. I wet my lips. I continued searching for him under the heat of the sun. The head actually made my head throb a bit, but I really need to find Aaron since it's already past lunch time, he might be hungry. Um… I actually prepared him some vegetable soup. I was also ao surprised earlier since I did not know that I cook well. Well, that man didn't told me about my skills. Tsk. Tsk. Where is he, by the way? I craned my neck while roaming around but still, I couldn't find him. He didn't leave me here, did he? He told me we're lovers so he might not as well think of leaving me here for good— "You're looking for Kuya Aaron, right?" I almost jump of surprised when a small and chubby kid popped on my side like a mushroom just to asked me that question. Helding my chest, I nodded at her. She has a round face and a bubbled cheeks. Ohh… She looks so cute! "Have you seen him?" I asked her. She nodded curtly at me. She's actually wet since I can see the small drops of water running down from her hair tips. "He's in the river catching fish. Actually, he joined my Tatay to catch fish. They caught a lot and they are going to sell that in the market. It would make us a lot of money!" I can sense the excitement in the kid's voice when she mentioned about money. Well, who wouldn't get excited when it's about money, right? Since I didn't know on where the river is located, I asked Tammy —that's her name — to lead the way to the river. Excitingly, she gently grabbed my hand and guided me. She's even jumping lightly and humming something as we head our way there. A moment later I finally heard the gentle rush of the water. I head the birds chirpings, and aside from that, I heard a manly laughters. From that voice, I know it's Aaron. When me and Tammy passes the large Balete tree, I immediately saw the half naked figure of Aaron, who's now holding a fishing net. He's in a small baroto with a man, and they were laughing so hard from something I didn't know. He throws the net like he's expert to it. I saw how firm his hands were while manipulating the fishing net. And I can't help myself but to admire the sight. I never imagined him doing this things. Never though he knows how to fish. A tanned man with his rugged pants said something to Aaron —he's from the other baroto with an old man. Using his lips he pointed the direction where Tammy and I where standing, and that was the time when Aaron notices me. He narrowed his eyes, and furrows his brows —as if he's not expecting me to come here. Well, he did not really expect this one since I came here with a surprise. I was about to wave my hand to him when he suddenly dive into the water. I gasped while my eyes widened. He knows how to swim, wow. Well, it's not that I really admire him for that talent but I wouldn't deny how mesmerising that scene is. I mean, he looks hot. Oh, snap it girl, why are you fantasizing him! I scolded myself. He pulled out himself out of the water just to get near us. My sinful eyes scanned his body. Multiple bits of water are dripping down in his body. Those droplets might be so happy sliding to his well built body, I envy them— "Maggy…" That caught my attention up. If he didn't called my name I wouldn't realize that I've been staring his body for long. Err… That's so embarrassing. "What are you doing here?" he asked. I blink twice. What am I doing here again? Aha! To ask him to have lunch. Yeah, right. "Uh… I cooked you some vegetable soup… Uhm… Would you like to try it? It's past lunch already and… And—" "Let's go home. I will eat it," he said. My eyes twinkled at the excitement of him tasting the food I cooked for him. Well, it's the least thing that I could do for him for treating me so good these past few day. "I'm not sure if you're going to like it but—" I paused when when I saw him smiling. He smiled at me! "W-what?" I stuttered. "I'll eat anything as long as it's you who prepared it." "Really? Anything? So I'm really a good cook if that's the case!" I proudly said. "I cook delicious foods. Wow. That excites me," I said happily. I even wink at him. At least, I am now certain with that fact, huh. Aaron on the other hand just stared at me while a simple grin flashes in his lips. "But I think you're more delicious than the food you prepared." My heart thump so loud as my blood slowly travels to my cheek. I even paused from breathing upon hearing his words just to prevent my cheeks from heating up, but I failed! Damn him! The sun is scorchingly hitting us and he has the nerves to talk dirty? And it has to be in front of Tammy?! Oh Jesus, help me! "Kuya Aaron, I didn't know humans can be eaten. Doesn't that make you a cannibal?" Tammy innocently asked. I glared at Aaron, but he just shrugged his shoulder. He then faced Tammy, and told her that he's just kidding us. To be continued...
