Levi's Point Of View Kayla wanted to come with me to the council chambers but I couldn't let her. I was afraid that they would harm her or try and take her away and I couldn't let either option happen. Knowing she was safe gave me the strength to deal with this mess. I watched as council members took their seats and once Dravin walked in with Kayla's mother it was only a matter of time before we started. Once everyone was seated, the same elder as before stood up. "Thank you everyone for your time. I will not waste anymore of it. Doctor, please tell us your results?" The doctor stood up with a folder in his hand. "Today I have run Kayla's blood three times and each time I have come up with the same result. Kayla is not human but one hundred percent dragon." Gasps could be heard throughout the room. "How is this possible?" someone yelled. "After talking to Kayla and the Prince I have discovered that the tea she has been drinking is subduing her dragon. This is causing her to scent to appear human while keeping the beast within dormant. If she does not drink the tea then her dragon will come forward," he said as he looked around the room. Council members began to murmur and suddenly the elder said, "I am sure we want to know how one of our own ended up being raised a human, let alone how a human could keep a dragon at bay. Please bring the human forward." I watched as Dravin and another council member brought Kayla's mother to the center of the room and I was asked to sit in a chair to the side. For the next hour, I listened to the council ask her questions and her give the same answers she gave to Dravin. Some council members were now beginning to be nasty with her, so I looked at Dravin, causing him to stand up. "My fellow council members. At this time, I propose we allow the Prince and his mate the opportunity to mate. As for the human, I ask that we stop accusing her of killing one of our own or k********g a child. I propose we allow her to look at our records and photos of some of our kin." Dravin said as he looked around the room. "Council member Dravin, why would we do that? We only keep records of those belonging to the council and the royal family," One of the other members said. "I spoke to the human earlier today and as she recounted the story I can't help but wonder if Kayla's birth mother was related to a royal line." "What would bring you to the conclusion?" My father asked. "Just a gut feeling?" "I do not agree with this," my father said. Dravin looked at my father and narrowed his eyes. "What harm would it do to allow the human to look at the records?" "And you have zero proof her mother was a royal," my father said with anger lacing his voice. Dravin smiled and looked around the room. "Fellow council members, let's not forget the king has experimented on humans while pregnant. I would not put it past him that he is hiding more." Suddenly, another council member stood and said, "I believe the women should look at the records and further more, once this matter has been dealt with, the council look into the king's actions." "I second this but I believe the king should be watched and not allowed to rule until further notice," another member said as he stood up. I watched as member after member stood up agreeing with Dravin until just my father and the elders sat in their seats. I stood up and smiled as I looked at my father. "I would ask the council to allow me to mate with my mate, allow Kayla's mother to look at the record under the careful watch of the council, allow me to rule over the kingdom, as the council,, looks into my father's dealings but I also ask that the elders and my father not to be allowed in the records room or council chambers until the investigation is done." My father's eyes grew as wide as saucers as did the elders sitting next to him. "You can not do this?" my father yelled, but before I could respond I heard a council member say, "I agree with the Prince and would like to put this into motion. Those in favor please stand and say I." I heard a chores of I's and looked around the room. Not one member sat down. "With the vote and motion now in place, Council member Gorg, will you get some trustworthy guards and have them escort the king and elders to their chambers. They will be on house arrest till further notice." I watched as a man walked out of the room and brought back several guards. My father was cursing the whole council as the elders went quietly with the guards. "Now that that is done. My Prince, I will give you one night to be with your mate. The council will begin not only their investigation but also try and find the soon-to-be Princess's family." Dravin said as he stood where the elders and my father once were. "Thank you council." I walked towards the door and right before walking out I turned and said, "I pray you find her parents so she gets the answers she will one day seek." "Of course, my Prince," a council member said. I walked out the door and began making my way to my chambers. Servants and fellow dragons bowed as I passed by. I could hear the gossip flying through the castle about my father and the elders but I did not care. All I cared about was her and making her mine. I ran up the stairs leading to my chambers and straight to my door.
