Love At First Sight?
Drinking coffee looking off into the miles of land, watching the horses gallop in the Texas Sunrise; I was engulfed in my thoughts. I was an intelligent, fiesty woman with a past that could haunt even the evilest of humans. I've handled many challanges with ease; relationships were not one of them. Wondering if I will always have to be alone; My little boy, Logan started tugging at my pant leg bringing me back to reality; he was ready for our morning breakfast date.
Walking through the doors of our favorite diner; Logan and I are greeted with warm loving smiles as always. Ordering our regular meals, I can't help but notice the new guy. Hair as gold as the sun, and eyes as dark as the ocean in the night; I can't take my eyes off him. Just an average joe, compared to the men who have stepped up to the plate. I couldn't put my finger on it, something was drawing myself to him; something strong, something unexplainable....Something deeper than either of us would have ever imagined.
His dark blue eyes have yet to stop looking at me. No matter how hard I try to fight it I can't stop looking up at him. I try to focus on my son, listening to his story about two dragons, and the elien who makes them his pets. I glance up once more, and ocean eyes has come from behind the counter; he is skinny, but muscular. The thin white shirt leaving nothing to the imagination; I look at his chest, full of tattoos and scares. I'm lost in my own world, when all of a sudden, I'm snapped back to reality by a harsh voice yelling. I look over to see a man dressed in black, packing a 9 Millimeter; yelling at the young cashier to put the money in the bag. Immediately, I look at my little boy who has a look of horror on his face. Smiling as calmly as I can, I whisper to him to crawl and go behind the counter and play hide and seek. Nodding, he gladly agrees, as I watch him disappear behind the counter. I hadn't even taken my eyes off the counter before I felt someone grab me by my hair and pull me out of my chair. Hearing the people I have grown fond of cry, I take a deep breath; preparing myself for what may ever happen. As I'm being drugged down the little hallway to the diners bathroom, I hear the blue eyed mysterious man. "Don't f*****g touch her, she hasn't done anything to you." In a second I'm ripped from the floor, and pinned the wall by my throat. I can smell cheap liquor as the man in black pushes up against me, "I'm going to have my fun with you, before I end your superman." His eyes glaring at my mysterious hero, I hear this loud bang, as I watch him fall to the floor. I watch blood gushing from his thigh, as I'm dragged to the bathroom.
"Stay strong Red, you have to make it through this." Is all I can repeat to myself, as I feel the rough hands of this man. A tear rolls down my face as I feel my shirt being ripped off. "Figure a way out of this, you've been through worse." "Damn it Red, Breathe; Organize your thoughts. YOU CAN DO THIS!!" Cringing in pain, from his teeth; I force my self to open my eyes. Quickly, glancing around; theres nothing to fight him off with. I have to get him while hes distracted. As I'm pinned to the ground, I push myself a little harder into the floor; as I feel him forcing my pants off. Climbing on top of me; I know this is my one and only chance. Just as the man starts to put his other leg around me, straddling me; I force both my knees up as fast and as hard as I possibly can. With a painful yell, and a loud crack; I hear his head contact with the bathroom sink. I lunged for the gun and point it as his head, just as the officers bust through the bathroom door- A sigh of relief; and tears pouring from my face. I burst through the door looking for Logan; he's not behind the counter. My heart races, as I'm searching the diner....it feels like forever before I hear his sweet giggle; stopping me in my tracks.
