A two member pack.

"OMG, is this real?" I asked, staring at Alex in a daze. I can't believe that this is actually happening, and that I got the job. "Well, congratulations... You deserve it" Alex said, holding up her glass for a toast. "Seriously? You want to toast with apple juice?" I asked, with a raised brow and a displeased look. Get this, I wasn't even allowed to drink... Like no alcohol... Nada... I let out a frustrated sigh and just held my glass up knowing that this is all I'll be drinking for a long time. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it's cozy and gives off calming vibes. The decor isn't overdone either. I think their main feel was like almost forestry if I look at the amount of plants decorating the walls, floors and some hanging off the ceiling. The wall behind the make shift stage was completely covered in vines and who would've thought that it could look this beautiful? The tables and chairs are built from heavy dark wood, and perfectly taken care of. The floors are soft grey tiles that just add to the beauty and it blends perfectly. All that's missing is soft music playing in the background. Because whatever was playing now makes no sense at all. Alex sipped her drink like she was drinking a margarita... It certainly looks like she wishes she was. "Alex, what are you going to do?" I asked. The thing is, Alex and I come from the same pack. Just like me, she was an outcast because she was born as an Alpha... Being an Alpha female is unheard of and looked down upon and being a male Omega is outraged. An Alpha female shifts earlier than a male, and some say they can become stronger with proper training and the right guidelines, but Alex was denied training and shifting. She was only allowed to shift in a full moon as it cannot be stopped. She grew into an amazing Alpha. She is calm, caring, but has a cruel side as well. The two of us kind of formed a pack, so that we won't be classed as rogues.. but she is more like my sister than my Alpha. Being an Omega automatically puts me at the bottom of the food-chain, and being a male makes it even worse, but Alex forced me to train with her... At least enough so I can defend myself. "I don't know. I mean, I enjoy the work I'm doing now, and no one knows that I'm an Alpha... Thanks to the suppressants, but keeping my wolf under control is becoming more difficult. She's an Alpha, yet she's being treated as an Omega." Alex said, and I could feel the annoyance roll off her in waves. "Have you ever thought of creating your own pack? I mean, you have me, but maybe add more and become an Alpha. Become who you were meant to be." Alex looked at me as though she was thinking of something, but words were spoken. "What do you even do for? I mean, you never told me what kind of work you do" Alex looked at me for a second and then looked away. I could see something in her expression, but I don't even know what that was. For all our years together I never questioned her income. Whenever I asked a question she would just roll her eyes and act annoyed, but no company I know of pays these amounts just for office work. "I'll tell you one day, but not today. Okay" Alex said, and that was it. End of discussion. I let out a small frustrated sigh, but never the less I let it go. ... ... ... Back at the apartment everything looked the same. Alex bought a two bedroom apartment a year ago and asked me to move in with her. And I did, no questions asked... Hell I didn't even ask why. All I saw was no rent, and no creepy landlords. The apartment was beautiful. Floor to ceiling windows, black and white marble floors, an open kitchen with black ceramic tops. The dining area was my favorite place. The table can seat 8 people comfortably, but I use the whole table for my art supplies whenever I feel like drawing or painting. The lighting is amazing and the space is just perfect. Both bedrooms had their own bathrooms, and then there was another bathroom for guests... (Not that we ever had any, but it was convenient) My bedroom was spacious with a queen size bed in the middle and my art supplies took up most of my room. "Luca, when you're done staring out the window we need to talk" Alex said. And I know that tone so well... That is the tone she uses whenever something happens or something is about to happen. I walked over to her, sitting on the chair by the kitchen aisle and waited. "I have to leave for a few days." Alex said, but i saw the way she fidgeted with her hands, and I didn't miss her distressed scent rolling off her in waves. Being my pack Alpha I can still smell her scent even if she uses surpressants. "Why do you look like that?" I asked, failing to hide my concern. "I don't know when I'll be back." Alex said, looking down. "Okay?" Now I was confused. "I'm going to have to block out our bond for the next few days... At least until I'm back" Alex said, and now it makes perfect sense. Blocking off the bond will be as though we have no connection... She's done it before, but only for a few hours... Never days. It can be dangerous. "Why?" I asked hoping that maybe I'll get an answer. "I can't tell you right now, but I promise you will be okay. You're strong right? You can handle a few days on your own?" Alex asked, and for the first time in all the time we've been together I felt her restlessness, I saw the worry behind her eyes. For once she didn't mask her emotions, and I saw everything she never wanted me to see. "I will be okay. I'm a big boy and I promise there will be no fights, and no alcohol" I said, for now that is the only way I can reassure her. This was the second time Alex scented me to calm me down after the connection had been closed up. My Omega went into distress thinking that we had been abandoned once again, and that was the only way. Alex buried her nose in my neck right above my scent glad. and started sniffing and ocasionally putting a little pressure. Scenting between pack members is not uncommon, but for an Alpha to scent someone of their pack the wat Alex is scenting me, there has to be a strong bond. The talk didn't last long, and I have no answers to any of my questions. But I do have her credit card, and a whole ass apartment to myself for the next few days. Alex allowed me to sleep in her room whenever I get restless, or my Omega goes into distress. Now I have to worry about Monday. I will officially start my new job. My phone pinged as if on cue. *Dear Mr Brown We are excited to have you join our team on Monday. Here are a few things that you will need to know before starting ... ... .... .... ...
