The Alpha and the Luna returned to the main pack. The Alpha had allowed Au to return to the main pack the morning after the shifting ceremony while he and his Luna returned after the trial of Brawn. Brawn was also taken to the main pack house and was made lower than the omegas just like the Alpha had pronounced. He was the new lowest ranking werewolf in the hierarchy of the pack and was to be allocated lesser food and more work. But the head of the omegas had compassion on him and treated him like the other omegas.
After he was handed over to the head omega that served the Alpha directly, the head omega introduced him to the other omegas and also showed him where he would be sleeping in the omegas quarters henceforth. Brawn was also given an orientation on what he was permitted to do and what he was not permitted to do as an omega.
From that day onwards, he was to wake up very early in the morning to do chores allocated to him and was to sleep only after the head omega had confirmed that there was no other pending chore to be done for that day. For a start, he was to join some omegas in the cleaning and tidying of the pack house. The chores were to be completed within a duration. He and some of the omega cleaned the room of the Alpha's pup. The Alpha had two male pups. They were very young pups but had a lot of omegas at their beck and call.
A few moments later, Brawn found a little time to rest. He sat down to rest by a corner in the pack house. He bent his knees, placed his hands on them and rested his forehead on his hands. He thought about his current position. It was not the best of positions but he was relieved that he was not killed. He was grateful to the Luna and the Beta female for the efforts they made to save his life from the ruthless Alpha. He knew that if it was only the Alpha and the Beta that tried him, it would have been with his parents in the spirit world at that moment. He hoped that by the next shifting ceremony, his life would be spared again. His mind drifted back to his four hospital brothers and how he would miss them. His life had taken a turn in a new direction and he knew he might not see them again. He remembered the pretty Alpha's sister and her omega. He had gotten to know that the name of the Alpha's sister was Au. He was going to be seeing her often but afar off. He imagined how his life would be there at the pack house. Still in his thoughts, he fell asleep.
A few moments later, Au's carriage entered the pack house. A gamma opened the carriage door and Au came down from the carriage. Sparkle also came out too. Au told her gammas to carry the boxes in the carriage and follow her. She took them to the side of the house and asked them to drop the boxes under a shed. When they were done, she was about to head to the entrance of the pack house when she sighted a young werewolf sitting afar under a shed. He had his head on his knees. She wondered if he had come to report a case to the Alpha. She wanted to ignore him but her mind told her that he could be crying or probably not happy. She dismissed her gammas and decided to go and verify her assumptions. She took Sparkle with her and went to him.
Brawn saw Au standing beside him and calling out to him in his dream. She was tapping gently on his shoulders. The taps felt so real that he felt them in reality. He opened his eyes and still heard the voice calling out to him.
"Hey. . .Hey. . .Can you hear me?" Au's voice called out to him.
He felt the gently taps again and he rose his head. As his eyes moved up, he saw Au bent towards him. He was first taken aback and moved his head back a bit. He stood up and comported himself in the manner which he had been briefed earlier. His hands were crossed behind his back, his head lowered and his eyes were staring at the ground. That was the position any omega was to assume anytime a dignitary spoke to them. Omegas were not permitted to look at dignitaries, eyeballs to eyeballs.
"I am sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Are you okay?" Au asked as he stood to his feet. When he was up, she stood erect.
"Yes ma'am." He replied.
She noticed the stance he took and deduced that he was an omega. She had seen all the omegas in the pack house but she had not come across him before. "I have not seen you in the pack house before. Please who are you?" Au inquired of him.
