The Road to The Ceremony

"I think this one will look better on you," Sparkle said holding a gown away from herself. "Sparkle, it is not like I am going for any special ceremony. Any dress will do. Please don't stress yourself with that," Au said unenthusiastically and uninterested in choosing a dress. Sparkle frowned a bit and said, "But ma'am, you still need to look beautiful. You are the Alpha's sister." "Even at that. You don't need to overdo yourself with just cloth selection," Au said as she unbonded her hair, leaving it to flow. "But look at these dresses, ma'am. Aren't they beautiful? Your sister brought a lot of beautiful dresses for you to choose from," Sparkle said bringing Au's attention back to the dresses laying on the bed. Au looked at the dresses and said, "Yes, they are." she picked up one of them and gave it to Sparkle saying, "Here, wear this one." "Me?" Sparkle asked in surprise."I am sorry ma'am but –" She tried to give excuses for not accepting the dress but she was interrupted by Au saying, "I insist!" "But it is an expensive dress. What do I tell Beta Felicity when she sees it on me?" Sparkle asked in a low voice. "Okay. I am ordering you to wear it. Tell her I ordered you," Au said smiling. "Thank you very much, ma'am." "Please, do not mention it," Au said and turned to the dresses on the bed. She picked up the one Sparkle had been clamouring for to wear. It was a red gown with the top decorated with materials shaped like a rose flower. Au said spreading the gown with her two hands, "This dress is indeed beautiful. Let me go and freshen up so I can put it on. It is already evening so we need to start dressing up for the ceremony." Meanwhile, the boys were on their way to the sub-pack house with the omegas that came to the hospital. By the time they got to the sub-pack house, it was already dusk. They helped the omegas gently offload the herbal mixtures at the spot allocated to the salutaries and guardians. Some Deltas were seen dishing out instructions to the gammas and sub-pack warriors to ensure tight security. The omegas were arranging the compound for the ceremony. They were directed by the head omega. The shifting ceremony was usually held in the compound of the sub-pack house. Luke brought out five carefully wrapped leaves containing boiled vegetables, rice and roasted meat, from his bag. He had wrapped and packed them before leaving the hospital. He distributed it to the boys. They welcomed the food with great relief and appreciation. They had walked some distance and needed refreshment. "Thanks, Luke, I personally totally forgot to pack some food," Brawn said as he opened up his wrap. "I guess that's why you are called 'The Angel'. You always have us covered." Rex said as he was handed his. "You are a born Guardian. Thank you." Kite gave his compliment and sat down on the pavement to eat his. "Thanks, Luke. I owe you one." Alex mentioned. Luke blushed as the boys rained compliments on him. He sat close to Alex and started eating his. The boys enjoyed their meal in silence. "What do you think would happen to our room when we leave for our various departments for training?" Alex broke the silence with a thought. He probably had thought in him for a while.
