CHAPTER 28 - FORGIVE ME! - AIDEN'S POV

1560 Words
Casidy started hyperventilating and holding her chest, and my heart broke. ''I'm sorry, but please just let me explain.'' ''YOU'VE HAD YEARS TO EXPLAIN!'' She wept, ''BUT YOU LET ME FIND OUT FROM SOMEONE ELSE!'' ''Who even told you?!'' ''IS THAT WHAT'S IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW?!'' She screamed again, as tears fell down her face. ''Casey, please calm down, so we can talk.'' I pleaded and took a step closer but she stepped back. No.... ''I don't want to talk to you!'' She wept, ''I don't trust you. I'll never trust you again.'' ''Please don't say that.'' ''Let me be clear,'' She said angrily, and wiped tears off her face, ''You and I are OVER. In front of Ava, I will pretend but when we are alone, you are my King, nothing more!'' She turned and went for the door, but I quickly rushed over and wound my arms around my girl. ''Please don't go. Just let me explain.'' ''GET OFF ME!'' She screamed and struggled to get free, and all my cabinets started to shake again. ''I HATE YOU!'' ''Don't say that. I love you more than anything. Please, I'm begging you, Casey. Please. I can't lose you!'' Casey broke down, crying in my arms, and I pulled her around, and hugged her to my chest. ''Please, my moonlight, don't leave me. Just let me speak.'' Casey started crying hard and punched my chest. ''DON'T CALL ME THAT!'' My whole body was shaking. I would find out who went against my orders and told her the truth, and I would f*cking skin them alive! ''Cas, please will you sit down and talk to me?'' ''I want to go!'' ''No. Not right now, please just give me twenty minutes?'' I hated how my voice shook in fear. I'd never thought I'd ever be rejected by mates, and the fear I was experiencing was overwhelming. ''Ten.'' She sniffed, and I exhaled in relief and kissed her forehand, but she shoved me back. ''Don't kiss me!'' ''I'm sorry, I won't do it again.'' I said quickly and stepped back. I took her hand and pulled her to my desk, ''Please sit.'' She ripped her arm out of my grip and sat down on my chair, while I reached over and pressed the intercom, ''I don't want to be disturbed by anyone, for any reason, unless it's Ava.'' ''Yes, your majesty.'' I released the button and sat down, pulling the chair in front of Casey, and passed her a tissue, that she snatched from my hand and wiped her face. ''Cas,'' I said, and took a breath, ''When I found you and Ava, you weren't in the forest. Well, technically you were, but... You were drowning in a lake. Your family had thrown you in there to let you die.'' Casey froze for a second, before looking into my eyes, ''They tried to kill us?'' ''Yes.'' I nodded, ''I knew that you were my mates, so I saved you, and took you home, but when I started to notice you were different, and had powers, I started to suspect you were Celestials. I tracked down your family to find out for sure, and that's when I found out it was them who'd tried to drown you.'' ''Why?'' ''They feared you, and your powers,'' I answered, ''They thought they were saving the world from you.'' ''That doesn't make sense,'' She interrupted me, ''You said we didn't start changing until after we were with you. How would they know we'd have powers and harm the world, and Celestials are here to keep the power balance in check, so why would they fear us?'' ''Because....'' ''Because what?!'' ''Because the last celestial was your grandmother,'' I told her. ''The one that caused all the problems?'' She gasped. ''Yes,'' I answered, ''But... I never told you the full truth.'' ''Of course you didn't!'' She snarled, ''So, what's the full truth then?!'' I rubbed my face, ''Your grandmother was a twin, most celstials are, but on the day they were due to perform the ritual. She killed her twin, and absorbed her power, before draining the energy from the other dimension along with ours to make herself even more powerful. The war broke out after that. We all banned together to kill her, but...'' ''But what?!'' ''But we couldn't kill her. She was too powerful,'' I admitted, ''So we imprisoned her in dead lands in one of my prisons. You can't use magic there.'' ''She's still alive?'' ''Yes.'' ''Okay, so they tried to kill us to stop us from being like our grandmother?'' ''Yes,'' I answered, ''And when I met them and found out how little they cared about what they'd done, I lost it and I... I killed them all.'' ''You kill everyone?'' She asked, fresh tears in her eyes, ''Men, women and children?'' ''There were no children there, you and Ava were the only children. I swear.'' ''Like I can believe that!'' ''I'm telling the truth.'' I reached out to touch her hand, but she pulled away, leaving my heart aching. Casey shoved my chair back and stood up, before she began pacing, ''So let me get this straight!'' She said angrily, ''You saved us, but killed our family, and we have a grandmother out there, responsible for all this devastation, and the tears that shouldn't be happening, and you've kept all this from us!?'' ''I'm sorry, but I'm not just your mate, I'm also your King, and it's my job to protect you.'' ''YOU DIDN'T DO THIS TO PROTECT US!'' She shouted, and shoved my desk, rattling everything on it, ''YOU DID THIS TO PROTECT YOURSELF!'' She started crying again, and turned away from me. ''I know I've lied, and I'm sorry, but how could I tell you what your family did?'' I asked as I stood up, and walked over to her, ''How could I tell you what I'd done.'' I cautiously touched her hips and pressed my face into her gorgeous red hair, ''Please don't hate me. Don't leave me. I'll do anything for you to forgive me, but please, please take back what you said about us being over. I can't lose you. We can work through this.'' She pulled away, and my hands felt cold. She turned back to me, tears still falling down her cheeks. ''Ava deserves to know the truth!'' I cringed at that thought, ''Why? So she can be in as much pain as you are right now? She doesn't need to know. We can keep this between us, and.'' ''I AM NOT LYING TO HER!'' She screamed and threw up her arms angrily, ''She deserves to know, like I deserved to know!'' ''No. I can't risk losing you both!'' ''You will tell her, or I will!'' ''Casey please..'' ''You tell her, or I will!'' She repeated angrily. We looked into each other's eyes while I thought it over, ''Okay. I will tell her.'' ''Good,'' She snapped, and wiped her cheeks again. Goddess, I just wanted to hold her. ''What was my mother's name?'' I exhaled, ''Lilah,'' ''Did you burn their bodies?'' ''Casey, they tried to f*cking kill you!'' My voice rose angrily, and I stepped closer, ''Why do you want to know anything about them?!'' ''Because they were my family.'' She wept. ''NO!'' I finally shouted, ''I'm your family. Ava is your family. I have been there for you from the first moment we met. I have loved you, and protected you, and given you EVERYTHING!'' I took a deep breath to calm down, as I took another step closer, and she started crying again. I risked it, and pulled her back into my arms, and I was happy she didn't push me away. ''Why didn't they love they love us?'' She cried harder, her whole body shaking. ''You don't need them to love you. I love you. I'm all you need!'' Casey pressed her hands against my chest and pushed me back, ''I want to be alone.'' She said and went towards the door, but I grabbed her wrist. ''No, please, we need to fix this!'' She ripped her hand away. ''Just leave me alone. I need to think.'' ''Think about what? I'm not letting you leave me,'' I warned her, as my heart started racing all over again, ''I said I'd tell Ava, and I will, tonight over dinner, but you have to forgive me for keeping this secret. Please, Casey. I did it to protect you.'' She didn't respond, she just shoved my hands away from her wrist and left my office, and I growled in rage, grabbed my desk and tossed it into the wall. ''RYKER!'' I linked him furiously. ''Yes, your majesty.'' He responded instantly, his voice concerned. ''Is everything okay? Is Casidy?'' ''Someone told her about her family,'' I told him, ''Speak to the council and find out which one of them told her the truth, and tell them they're f*cking banished!'' ''I will speak to them, but I don't think anyone would go against your orders,'' He told me, ''She may have overheard someone talking about it.'' ''I DON'T CARE! JUST FIND OUT WHO TOLD HER!'' I shouted, and cut the link, before walking out of my office. ''Angela,'' I snapped at my receptionist, ''Get me a new desk and computer by tomorrow and have someone clean up my office.'' ''Yes, sir.''
