Chapter 21. Surprise!

“ ewwe. Get a room..Man get your hands off my sister, she’s not of age.” Andel’s voice rang out.
“Andel, keep your voice down.” I hissed
“ what’s wrong with you?.”
“ so you’re going to let him touch you like that.” He raised an eyebrow.
“ don’t be dramatic, Andel.” I scoffed.
“ are you kidding me?.. he was about to kiss you.”
“ oh you mean like how you ‘kissed’ the girl other night with your lower region.” I scrunched my nose.
“Don’t try to shift this on me. this is about him taking your first kiss right here. it’s not even romantic.” he mocked, leaning against the door frame with folded arms.
I rolled my eyes at him.
“Alright you guys can continue bickering after I’m gone, I have to go. Good night princess.” Gael chuckled giving me a quick kiss on the cheek before picking up the basket and walked Down the hall.
As I was sure Gael was out of earshot.
“ for your information, he was romantic about our first kiss.. or mine I should say.” I said as I turned to go in my room.
“ wait, what. Did y-“
“ Andel, I’m not you. But i just might if you continue like this. What happened to ‘it’s okay if you like him’ I thought you both were coming along.”
I asked with a hand on my hip and the other on the door.
He scratched the back of his head.
“ well, it’s not an easy thing to watch your big little sister start to change or date then next thing you know all your time is gonna be used up by your relationship. You’re not gonna have time for me, for us anymore and then he’s gonna be your favourite person. If he’s not already.” He sniffed, inhaling deeply and wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.
Only now that it dawned on me that he’s scared of changes. Changes that will eventually happen.
“Andel.” I whispered softly going over to hug him. The difference in our height made it look like he was comforting me and not the other way around.
“Don’t say that. You’ll always be my favourite person.” I pulled back reaching up to cup his face between my hands and using my thumb to wipe away his tears.
“ you were this hardcore girl who always used to wear a resting bi*ch face but I knew the real you because that’s what you showed me. The loving caring you..but now you hardly talk to me about everything like we used to before. And now you’ve met Gael you’re definitely not gonna have time for me anymore.”
I had kept myself away from my family after discovering I had powers and going out after school to control it better. it was so exciting, and all I focused on that I didn’t even realize I had shut him out too. I didn’t want to risk hurting them but I still did. emotionally.maybe I should have told them but what if they saw me as some monster.
“ okay how about I treat you tomorrow, you’ll have me all day”
“are you serious?.”
“ yes. And no Gael.” I held my right hand out to do our Handshake that we haven’t done in so long. He looks surprised for a moment before he grins, under his eyes still wet from crying. We did our hand shake That ends with a hug.
“ I missed this you.” He muttered. And I laughed.

Lenora’s POV
“We should probably tell the kids we’re coming, at least text one of them.” Wyatt whispered.
“I did.” I whispered back smiling at him.he looks at me as if to ask when i only gave a light shrug.
Jackie wanted to surprise them just to see how well they are doing in her old pack.
Pulling up out front of the pack house luna Stella came out to welcome us.
“ nice to see you again Jackie. Wyatt you’ve grown so big. Ah, this must be your mate” Luna Stella beamed.
“ yes. my one and only.” Wyatt looked at me, slipping his hand around my waist.
“ awwe look at you, still blushing after all these years.”Luna Stella chuckled
“ we all do.” Jackie said with a little awkward laugh before saying
“ come on now, we don’t have time on our side.”
We went inside, and took the lift to luna Stella’s office where we were served tea and donuts and cake.
“ um, this is off topic but where are Yolanda and Andel. I haven’t seen them since we came here?.” I asked luna Stella.
“ oh, I heard Gael, the beta’s son, asking them if he could tag along. Though I’m not quite sure where they went.” She answered taking a sip of her tea. I nodded.
“ you don’t need to worry, they are adopting just fine.” She laughed.
“ I didn’t think they would..”
“ because they didn’t grow up in a pack?.”she asked and I shook my head.
“ no. No.. it’s just Yolanda doesn’t get along well with others and Andel.. we’ll he’s more welcoming or should I say easy to talk to.” I mumbled. She look’s taken aback, or rather confused.
“ that is the total opposite of your daughter. If I hadn’t witnessed with my own eyes I would’ve believed you. Your son however, he is as you say. ” now it was my turn to be confused.
“ what do you mean.” I asked.
“ she’s getting along well with pack members. Both of them. And I think she might have found her mate but she doesn’t know.” She squealed the last part
“ WHAT!!.” Wyatt and I exclaimed.
“Or, maybe I’m wrong, but who knows we just have to wait and see.”she quickly explained. Wyatt and I are now looking at each other.
“ she’s just sixteen, how is it possible.” Wyatt stated, hanging his head in his hands on the table.
“ like I said, I could be wrong. The boy is nice though. Really sweet to her. He calls her his princess. Oh, the teenage puppy love.” Luna Stella smiled warmly.
I suddenly remembered, Yolanda had called me to ask about clothes choices I would pick to wear to a certain place or occasion, what I wouldn’t wear and why.
I was wondering why all of a sudden she wanted my advice on what to wear but I didn’t stress too much about it because I thought she was just having a moment of ‘if I went there I’d wear this’ or whatever younger folks do.
“ so I’ll be a great grandma soon.” My mom said pulling me out of my thoughts while staring off into space.
“Me too.” Wyatt’s mom chimed in.
“ oh goddess no. don’t go there, she’s my daughter for god sake.”We all laugh before getting down to business.
