Chapter 19. Prince charming

I fell asleep after watching three episodes of ‘Jane the virgin’ and eating almost all the snacks that I bought.

I’m now putting the empty wrappers and ice cream cup in the bag to take them down to the garbage bin.

As I open the door Gael was there like he was about to knock.

“ hey, I wanted to apologize for what happened at the sweet shop, if I had known she would’ve been there I wouldn’t have asked you out.” He rushed out. I nodded and pressed my lips into a thin line.

He shut his eyes tightly shaking his head. “ no. that came out wrong. I didn’t mean it like that, I meant.. I would’ve suggested somewhere else to hang out before going to pick up the cake.” He’s now panting like he’s nervous.

I smile at the effort he took to apologize to me even though he didn’t have to.

“ it’s okay.”

“ I didn’t apologize yet I just explained. Now let me apologize.” He grinned getting down on both of his knees. I furrow my brows in confusion.

“ I cannot promise it will never happen again as I can’t control people’s actions but I will do my best to avoid it.” He said as he held my hands into his before continuing.

“I am sorry, princess, for everything that happened and ruining your day. Please forgive me.” I couldn’t help the smile on my face. I was blushing the whole time he was talking. taking in his every word.

He’s so sweet. And I’m not talking about his appearance but on the inside. I nodded as I try to pull him up but he doesn’t move.

“ I need words.” He smile, giving my hands a little squeeze.

“ okay.” I bit my bottom lip

“Okay what. I’m not getting up unless you say. I’ll stay here all day, all night and even sleep at your door if I have to” he pinched his brows together.

“ alright I forgive you.” I mumbled.

“ I can’t hear you, you have to speak up.”

He whispered as he started tickling me.

I tried to crouch over and take a step back so that he would loose his grip, dropping the bag in the process.

My feet slipped on the bag and I fell to the floor. Thinking he would stop because I fell he continued. He straddled my legs and used one of his hands to pin both of mine above my head. I’m sure our laughter can be heard by whoever is in the house.

“Alright, alright. I forgive you.” I managed to shout through my laugh, wiggling my body to get away from under him. He lessened the tickling but didn’t stop.

“ Gael. I said..I forgive you. that’s not fair.”

I giggled trying to pull my hands out his grip. Trying to control our breathing he said.

“ I had to make sure.” He smiled. We’re both looking into each other’s eyes and it’s only now that I realize the position that we’re in. His face hovered inches over mine still straddling me and holding my hands into place.

“ you’re so beautiful, Yolanda.” He murmured loosening his grip on my hands as he uses his right hand to intertwine our fingers and his left hand to caress my face. I closed my eyes enjoying the surprisingly comfortable feeling he brings me.

“ and you’re handsome. my Prince Charming.” I whispered, using my free hand to comb through his curly silky hair from the back to the top and he let’s out a shaking breath. They feel so good. His forehead is now resting on mine.

I pushed up a little, rubbing my nose slowly side to side on his. My heart beats wildly like it wants to get out of my chest. Our breathing is uncontrolled. I felt like he wanted my permission, so I took the initiative to take the first step. As I parted my lips to kiss him but he slowly eased his head to the crook of my neck.

inhaling deeply then giving it a soft kiss. holding his head up to look at me he said.

“ I’m sorry, but, as much as I want you, I don’t want either of us to get hurt when the time comes. Especially you.”

He whispered with a hint of sadness in his eyes. I nodded.

“ I understand. Turning eighteen and finding mates, blah blah blah.” I smiled and he smiled amused. He got up and stretched his hand out to pull me up.

“ I would like to take you out though, to make up for this morning.” He said after pulling me up.

“ you don’t have to you already apologize.”

“ I insist. Please let me do this. it would put me at ease if you accept.” He clasped his hands together looking hopefully.

“ okay. Where are we going and when.”

“ it’s going to be a surprise. How about tomorrow?”

“Umm..”

“ you can give me your answer after dinner.” I nodded.

“ where were you heading.”

“ to take these to the bin” I said while picking up the bag from the floor then closing the door.

“ I’ll walk you there.”

“ okay.”

After Gael accompanied me to the bin, then I came back to my room. I took a shower and decided to clean the room a bit and open the window for some fresh air to come in.

I checked my phone to see if I missed any calls or messages, turns out it’s dry.

I called my mom to check in and we ended up talking for almost an hour before she told me she had to go.

I went to check on my brother Andel because I haven’t seen him all day.

I knocked on his door and wait for him to open it but no answer so I knocked again and still no answer. I was going to knock again but he abruptly pulled open the door and I knock on his chin.

“ can I come in.” I said as I tried to barge myself in.

“ no.” He pushed me back out.

“ why..” I looked at him confused.

“ because I said so.”

“ but you came into mine before.”

“ and so?!.. you shouldn’t be in boys room anyway. What do you want?.”

“ and you shouldn’t be in girls rooms. why are you all of a sudden hurrying me away.” I said as I made a grave mistake and looked down to his chest but my eyes caught the tent under the sheet that’s covering him from the waist down. I quickly turned around. as if turning around wasn’t enough I covered my eyes with my hand.

“ OHH MY GOSHH!! Delly.. yuck. you could have told me. And you’re not even old enough, Ewwee.” I said feeling my face heat up from embarrassment.

“ why do you think I was telling you no, you just can’t take a hint. Now Go away.”

“ we’ve only been here for three days and you’re already leaving your mark here.” I scoffed at him.

“ so what, keep your voice down.” He whisper yelled.

“ who is she?.” I asked curiously.

“ none of your business.”

“ don’t speak to me like that I’m older than you.”

“ and I’m one feet taller than you.” I turned around to shoot him a glare and he’s standing in the doorway grinning like an i***t.

He snickers before saying. “Run along.” Shooing me with his hand. “I’m telling mom.” I scoffed.

I turn to open my door. “ where did my hardcore sister go.” He laughs before closing his door.

I ended up continuing ‘Jane the virgin’ and When it was time for dinner I went down.

After dinner I agreed to go out with Gael and he told me to be ready by ten as the place is almost an hour away. So here I am now picking out and trying on clothes to decide what to wear.
