These Two Minds of Mine

'Weird, crazy, mentally unstable or insane. Call it what you want. Personally, I favor the terms unique, peculiar and oh! Above all: psychotic, it just sounds so fancy. I'm bored, and something is staring at me. Have some manners, dear. It's okay, you can keep staring, as long as I get to rip your eyes out later. Kidding! I'm kidding, HAHAHA! Well not really, but I wouldn't want to scare you away. HAHAHAHA! Oh, stop staring! You are tickling my senses, you insufferable creature! Oh, how I would love to hear my little birdy scream. Please be my friend'. "SHUT UP!" 'Damn it.' "Hold it, let's get on thing straight: I'm not the one talking, or well technically I am the one moving my lips but someone else is forming the words coming out. Well, obviously not right now! The beginning! That wasn't me, I'm not the crazy one: Kainian is. I am Alex, nice to meet you, or should I say it's nice to see you again. You see, you've gone past me in the streets several times. I always smile at you but you never notice. I do not mean to scare you, just trying to tell you to be more observant of your surroundings, that's all". 'Alex, can we make it scream now? I'm still bored, and my hands feel irritably clean. It's pretty. I wish to break it. The demon I sold it to said that he had a way to ensure that I maintained our agreement. That way is Kainian. It makes sure that I keep killing, no matter how much I don't want to. I missed telling you that part, huh? Turns out selling your soul is not a quick give and receive. I have to kill to be able to give pieces of my soul to the demon I sold it to. Kainian is almost a precaution for me to keep killing. It makes sure I kill; hence my brother gets to live and the demon gets what he was promised. Of course, there's the losing pieces of your soul part, and let me tell you, that s**t HURTS." 'It's time little one! I have waited for eight weeks. Give me blood or Mr. Gavriel will find himself too dead to go to college. KIDDING! HAHAHA, no killing today. BAHAHAHAH! Okay, that was the actual joke. My head hurts, will you stop yelling? Dangling, swaying, bleeding, ropes' - " No" - 'aww, pretty please? It's been so long. The clock is ticking little one, tick tock goes the clock, lock, block, gawk, electric shock, the smell of burnet flesh. Can you hear the clock, little one? Tick-tock!' Alex shook her head violently as if that has ever made Kainian quiet. "Fine, I'll do it," she said. 'Yes! HAHAHA, I knew you'd come thru! YES HAHA!'. " Whatever, how do you want to do it this time? Mind you we almost got caught last time so a better plan than last would be greatly appreciated". 'The black mist, extra set of clothing, gloves, ropes, dream dagger, Noxus acid, a pack of cigarettes, vodka, a lighter and duct tape, HAHAHA this is going to be so much fun!'. " Yeah, if you say so" Alex mumbled. Two days later Alex finds herself at the Vilmorino's abandoned farm. The barn on the farm was a normal place for teenagers from the close-by city to hang out in, a great hideout for underage drinking. Alex could feel her whole body shaking in anticipation, although that was most likely how Kainian was feeling and not her. The line between her emotions and Kainian's gets blurred with each passing day. Who knows, maybe Alex's the one thrilled for the kill? There's laughter and music coming from the barn. Poor, stupid teenagers Alex thought. What had started as a slight, warm breeze had turned into a hard wind. The trees around the barn looked like they were about to ripped out of the ground. Good Alex thought. This way the wind can help muffle out the screams, minimizing the risk of anyone passing by hearing what was about to happen. The music would be a great help too. Alex took a deep breath and listened to Kainian excitedly telling her what to do. And just like that, twelve teenagers were dead. It would look like an accident: a bunch of teenagers had thrown a party on the abandoned Vilmorino farm. There had been a lot of alcohol involved and something had gone terribly wrong when a drunk teenager had tried to light their cigarette. The fire had trapped them all inside of the barn and the firemen had been too late to save them. The article would read "Party ends in literal hell" or "Tragedy befalls the city of Vexus Elythia". No article would write what really had happened. How the teenagers had been paralyzed, bond, gaged, tortured and had every trace of their flesh and bone burned away with Noxus acid. Only after that had Alex emptied several bottles of vodka in the barn, over their ashes, and lit the cigarette. She had waited ten minutes before changing her clothes, throwing the smokey and bloody clothes into the fire. Once she was certain the clothes were entirely gone, she had called the fire brigade. Kainian had been impressed by her acting skills. How she'd told the firemen that she was taking a stroll and had seen the Vilmorino farm on fire! Oh, she had been terrified! Kainian could not help but laugh hysterically as Alex had cried and hidden her face in her hands. 'Brilliant! You, sweet little one, are just brilliant, HAHAHA those idiots were eating right out of your hand, sand, damned, planned, farmhand, gland! HAHAHA!! BRILLIANT!' A few hours later Alex finds herself back at her apartment. There's not much to see: a studio apartment with a cooking area in the living room, a bathroom, and a small bedroom. The calling of the bathtub and newly bought bath bombs is too strong for her to resist. As she's laying in the bathtub she thinks about the day's events. School, shopping, mass murder, interview with the local newscast and now a nice, relaxing bath. "Why am I not disturbed by what I did?" she asked. 'You can thank me for that, little one. We can't have you drowning in guilt, not until we've completed the deal'. Alex gaze was locked on one of the bigger bubbles about to pop. "Will I feel the guilt once I've finished my part of the deal then?" she asked. 'I don't give a s**t what happens to you after the deal is over. Frankly, the only reason I'm keeping your guilt at bay is to hurry up the process so I can go home'. The bubble popped. That wasn't exactly news to her. She began scrubbing herself clean. "Where is your home?" she hesitantly asked between scrubs. 'You're asking the wrong question, little one. Now hurry up, I may not be human but I am still considered partly male'. Hearing that, Alex quickly finishes and empties the bath. "You're a prick, you know that right?" she said. 'Insulting me when you know your sanity's in my hands. Bad move, little one. But I'll let it slip this time, luckily for you, I've already fulfilled my needs today'. The memories of what she'd done at the barn flared slightly. "Will I remember? When it's over, will I remember?" she asked. 'I want you to. How great it would be to leave you utterly empty! With the memories of every single kill shinning brightly in your mind and having to live with the guilt? Oh, it makes my spine tingle!' - "Our spine" - 'be quiet! I don't know if you will remember, that is not my decision to make, little one. if it was I'd drive you towards suicide just to be able to play with you in hell' -"Is that where you're from?" - 'such persistency! HAHAHA!' - "Why won't you just answer the question!?" Alex said, frustrated - 'Because once again you are asking the wrong one. When you ask me the right question I will give you the answer you seek, freak, greek, meek, peek, no don't look in there! HAHAHA do it, do it!' Alex sighed. This was useless, Kainian is an insane...whatever. Getting an answer out of it was like trying to convince someone that jumping off a cliff is a great idea. In other words, not gonna happen. Alex glanced at the clock. A minute left until midnight. A minute until the piece of her soul she lost today claws itself out. A minute left until excruciating pain and a minute before she gets one step closer to this nightmare being over. 'Have you missed it? Because I have! I have longed to hear you scream!' - "Shut up" - 'HAHAHAHA! Oh, little one still gets nervous before the Roxavite! How adorable!'. The clock hits midnight. Not a second passes before Alex falls to the floor, twitching in pain. She has been through this enough times to know what to expect, usually, but this was her biggest kill so far. That means that she gets to feel the pain of everyone she has ever killed, and the heightened pain of the twelve teenagers. Alex tries and fails miserably to hold back her screams of agony as Kainian is having the time of its existence. 'HAHAHAH!! Scream little one, scream, scream! scream dream, gleam, beam, midstream, bleed, bleed, scream louder, little one!!' 6 am. Six hours was the cost of those teenagers. After losing and gaining consciousness several times through the night it's finally over. Her first lecture starts at 3 pm. That gives her enough time to get some rest and visit her brother in the hospital. 'That was so much fun! We have to do that again soon, that was quite the piece you lost, little one. Huge. I am proud of you, twelve at once is a rare achievement, I believe the record is set at around...7000-something so you've still got some catching up to do!'. She tried to ignore him. The Roxavite always felt terrible, but this time it was like she broke every bone in her body over and over again. With Kainians chipper humming in her head, Alex crawled herself into the bedroom. A few hours of sleep would have her feeling as good as new, she supposed that was also thanks to Kainian. Can't have a human vessel who's too weak to kill now, can we? As soon as Alex gets into the bedroom she collapses on her bed. Her body's aching as she barely manages to send a quick voice message to her brother. "Hey, just wanted to let you know that I'll be visiting you in a few hours. The only reason I'm giving you a heads up is that I don't want to see you wearing that weird hospital apron that shows your ass. It's deeply disturbing and traumatizing. See ya in a few!". And send. As soon as she puts her phone down sleep claims her and as always there're no dreams in sight. The only sound in the darkness is Kainian's dark laughter.
