Everyone fell silent when she unboxed the package and went wild when it dawned on them.
"There is no way this is happening! This only had ninety-nine pairs in the world! I heard they auctioned off the last pair for thirty million dollars!" One of the employees commented, which made several female staff squeal. "This is a rare beauty! Miss Clark, I envy you!"
Georgina stared speechless at the shoes she had always wanted for years and failed to keep up with their bustle.
Anyone could tell she was holding the genuine limited-edition pair with just one glance.
Georgina faltered. 'It can't be!' It felt like a dream. She thought of all the people who could have bought her the shoes, and only one man came into her mind, Daniel Croft.
'Did he sell his company to buy me these?' Georgina couldn't help but smile while thinking about it. She imagined attending the annual family meeting wearing the coveted Crystal Love pair. Georgina would be the center of attention tonight.
Meanwhile, Golden Club was a famous entertainment club at Warlington. People of the higher class often went there. They never cared about paying for costly drinks per night. It was also the place where Nicholas's whole batch decided to hold the class reunion.
Nicholas was in a good mood while riding his brand-new scooter. He wanted to buy a car but couldn't reveal his identity before his official takeover of the company. In the end, he only purchased another scooter for transportation.
He pulled over to the parking lot and was about to take a slot when someone honked at him from behind.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing? You're hogging a parking space with that beat-up bike!"
When Nicholas turned to check, he saw a BMW parked nearby. The driver poked his head out and pointed at Nicholas. But when their eyes met, both of them gasped in shock.
"Class Rep?!" Nicholas excitedly ran to the BMW. The person inside the car was none other than the class representative of their batch, Dexter Green.
"Nicholas? Nicholas Godfrey?" Dexter stepped out of the car and eyed Nicholas from head to toe. Sneering, he passed by him as if he was nothing and headed straight inside the club.
Nicholas felt embarrassed. He was obviously excited to meet them, but Dexter ignored him.
Nicholas followed Dexter behind, heading into a rented lounge for their reunion. By the time they arrived, the whole batch was there.
Dexter went inside first, and the whole room greeted him. "Woah woah! Our Class Representative is so handsome now. Is this what success looks like?"
The entire room became lively as their batchmates surrounded Dexter, asking him various questions.
Nicholas noticed Dexter was wearing an expensive suit while casually bragging, holding the keys of his newest BMW series car.
Nicholas then looked at his clothes and thought about having the same scooter model as every delivery man in the town. Nobody even greeted him when he arrived. All his excitement about attending the reunion went down the drain.
Thinking about the brighter side, he watched his former classmates. They hadn't seen each other for many years, and all the girls in his class became more beautiful. However, the class goddess Heather Ainsworth was the most beautiful of all.
Back then, she only wore jeans paired with a plain shirt, but her looks had never been plain. Now, she had this air of maturity that added to her charms.
Apart from Dexter, Heather received the most attention during the reunion. Dexter complimented her beauty in just a few minutes when he saw her. "Heather, the class goddess! You look gorgeous. What do you do now?"
A woman next to Heather answered before she could respond, "Class Rep, you didn't watch the news? Heather is pretty famous! She's going to be a star soon!"
The girl looked at Heather and beamed. "I heard that you're signing a contract with Zion Entertainment?"
The whole room roared and clapped for Heather, and Nicholas smirked. Who in Warlington wouldn't know about Zion Entertainment? They manage several famous A-list stars in the city, and a woman like Heather rightfully belongs to Zion Entertainment.
Hearing the name of the company piqued Nicholas's interest. Starting tomorrow, he will be Zion Entertainment's new president.
He walked over to Heather's spot in an attempt to speak with her. However, just as he was about to sit down, Heather frowned and eyed Nicholas disdainfully.
"Can you not sit here?"
Nicholas got confused and stood up slowly. "Is this reserved for someone already?"
Heather shrugged and flipped her hair. Irritated, she said, "No, I don't want to sit next to you."
Nicholas was about to respond, but Heather continued, "Nicholas, this is a class reunion. Can't you see how you look right now?" Nicholas looked at his clothes and then at Heather.
"You look like a beggar from the streets. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?"
